TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

C26D11, 7 water, 28 points, all ghgs except only 1 dairy, 8249 fitbit steps, G17 Y2 R1 January
The extra 2 points were 13 gm cashews at around 10:30 PM. Just felt like something. I should really put them out of sight. They are in the front of one of my food cabinets.
Edesia – Hurray for healthy eating and for avoiding the pull from inauguration and hearings. We really can’t let this affect our eating or, as I said to Jan, it will be an even more painful 4 years.
Jan – How thoughtful of your client – I used to have balance bars. I think they counted as a Jennie Craig snack or something. I just looked them up on WW site – 8 points would be a killer for me. It’s awesome that you could be happy for half. I don’t think that would be in my DNA unless I precut and prepackaged them, maybe even in quarters. Something to check out.
Beth – It’s good that you can be consistent re time of WI. Mine is always first thing in the morning before breakfast and with similar clothing. Having said that, I haven’t been weighing in officially even though that’s against my self promise. I weigh in daily at home and frankly don’t want to spend the money just to get on their scale. When I get back to goal, I’ll start over weighing in officially. I love that you enjoy your meeting so much and that you’ve stuck to your promise to track. I’m also tracking. That’s the only way I can lose any weight even if very very slowly.
Cindy – Come back to us. You promised, remember? For better or worse.

Morning, BFF's! I snacked my way through the day, yesterday. Totally anxiety/anger driven. I have been trying to avoid sweets as much as possible and I was able to do that. Today, I'm headed to the Women's March in NYC. I won't be able to be there the whole day, but I need to do something. This will be just one of many things, I am sure. Tonight, DH, DS, and I will be going out for a belated birthday dinner for them both. TTYL

C27. D1. OP. Tracking. Prioritizing and getting in exercise every day. Avg 32 points per day + 75 AP = .4# loss.
EDESIA - Glad you are getting to the March. Eat locally grown, healthy food from farmers who hopefully you know and trust and help us build a just, equitable and environmentally sound agriculture from the ground up. That is my strategy. That's why I moved my family from a comfortable life in our state's capitol to the agriculture front line- 200 miles west on the prairie. 1) to practice what we preach and 2) to build an ark/demonstration of a farming system that supports families, is humane, and improves the environment (protect water quality, habitat restoration, and 100% renewable energy powered and we even sell excess energy onto the grid). Onward!
Nancy - I totally trust your judgement, but I have found that for me waiting until I'm at x weight has never worked. Some weeks I skip getting on the scale because the following week will be better. That is always the start of a slippery slope. If I had a WW meeting near me, I would go. Because seeing their number in my little book was incredibly motivating. I do try to get to meetings when I'm traveling, but that rarely works... And my nearest WW meeting is 60+ miles round trip. And I would miss dinner with my family - leave at 4:45 and get home at 7pm. It just takes too much time away from the few hours I have with my kids during the week when I'm home.
I'm slow roasting a leg of lamb today ~ yum! Having friends over for dinner. Making a few chops for the kids and worried I'll run out of meat. lol. With garlic mashed potatoes, roasted beets, a salad and apple crisp. The only think that is NOT locally grown from our farm or neighbors is the fresh green salad.
Have a great and healthy Saturday all!
Kathy

Happy Saturday!
I was hoping to go to the protest in Cleveland today, but I worked until 11:30 and time just wasn't on my side. A friend took a bus to D.C. to march. I'm enjoying the tv coverage. I'm going to a new vegetarian restaurant on the other side of town later today with a friend. I'm looking forward to getting away for a few hours.
Edesia, he's not wasting any time, that's for sure. His actions are certainly not backing up his speech yesterday. I'm angry also. Enjoy the march and the (hopefully) positive energy it brings.
Kathy, like you, I'm trying to make a difference in my own life by being a bit kinder. I was telling someone in my classes the other day that I had 2 comments about how kind and helpful she was. She said she feels that the world needs more kindness right now.
I ordered a shirt online and it came today. It says "Strong Women--know them/be them/raise them.
