Good morning and greetings from exotic Springfield, Illinois - beloved home of Abraham Lincoln and birthplace of the corn dog. There is nothing else at all noteworthy about this place.
The downtown area really does roll up the streets and turn out the light, Virginia. Hotel restaurants and an Italian place that Yelp advised to "Run, don't walk" away from were all that there was to choose from.
Nice of Valencia to throw you a party, Debbie! But they could have just given you some oranges...

Good morning Lou, thanks for the start. Gee sounds like you are in a lovely place. How long will you be there? Debbie, good luck finding a place to stay until everyone leaves. Sounds like a fun time though. WTG with the loss of 2 pounds. Virginia, WTG with the 8 miles. Nice that you ran into your other walking buddies. Waving to Lori and Vicki Didn't meet my step goal yesterday Went to my WW meeting and lost 1.4 pounds. My DSon goes with me and he lost 10.6 (yep 10.6). Was so happy for him. Today will be week 2/day one of the c25k. Will also walk outside. Intro: Live in Maryland Love to read, spending time with family/friends, walk Brenda

Hi,
Thanks for starting us, Lou. Wow, downtown Evansville isn't exactly bustling on evenings when there isn't an event at one of the venues, but at least you can count on a handful of restaurants (ranging from decent to excellent) being open for dinner. I'm glad you got there safely.
Hi Brenda, congrats on the happy scale #s for you and DS. Wow, that's an impressive loss for DS. You'll get your step goal and then some today between C25K and outdoor walking. Thanks, it was great to get the distance in and also the friend time.
Today was a bit of a dicey drive to the office although I had no issues. We had been predicted to receive rain starting around midday and continuing through the late afternoon. Instead, it started later in the afternoon and changed to snow. Completely unexpected and unpredicted. We got about 3" of wet snow. Most schools are out due to slick roads. The county I live in opted for a 2 hour delay, the county I worked in cancelled. The roads out where I live are much better than the ones nearer the office. Otherwise, P/T w/o after work and then errands are on the agenda. DS#1 and family have been hit hard by the flu. DS had it a few weeks back. DGD#1 and DDIL had it at the end of last week, DGD#2 woke with a fever on Saturday and was diagnosed at the walk-in clinic. Tamiflu seems to have helped all of them. And everyone except DGD#2 had the flu shot. DGD#2 is too young for the shot. A check-in with DS this morning revealed that they are all doing better but still not 100%. It was a rough weekend for them. Hopefully they can all have good naps today and continue to feel better.
