Good Morning, Angels: Alas, the sun is shining. I can't help but think I'll see tiny bulbs peeking out from beneath the soil because its been so warm here of late. But, its a little early yet. Today, it feels like that kind of early-Spring day. Carol: Do you take tap-dancing classes?? How fun! I'd love to do that. Congrats on your success at detoxing. Yesterday, I returned to the gym and, after some strength-training and some stretching, I danced. The room I use is seldom used for classes mid-afternoon so I have it all to myself. I mean this room is HUGE. If I could recall all my dance steps from my youth, I could really let loose. Little by little, I'll remember some steps. My knee is still a teeny bit tender, so I'm careful about that. No jumps or leaps. Just to add to the fun, I tried some pique turns across the floor. And despite my attempts at "spotting", I was a a tad dizzy! (I hope no one was watching. ) Hope you're all enjoying a peaceful start to your weekend. Daily Affirmation: Take responsibility for my inner habitat as well as become aware of what I project outward. Fitness Goal: strength-training at the gym, etc Health Goal: Be happy. Gratitude: For the sunny day.

Good morning friends! Suzanne, how fun that you are dancing. Dancing makes me happy. It is quite warm here also and I'm fooled into thinking spring is around the corner! I left some chard in the garden on a whim, and it is putting out shoots in the middle of January. Carol, how was your meeting? I am just home from mine. Very happy to see a maintain - that's a signal that the weight creep is under control and I can now head back in the direction I wish to. I have a goal for the week and that is to explore more large salads. Crunchy, different, winter type salads. Will share as the week goes on. Daily Affirmation - today, I am fed, I am housed, I have enough to get by, I have a job. Fitness Report - physical therapy in the a.m. and Kundalini yoga in the p.m. Health Goal - make a delicious soup for dinner. Gratitude - my leader and the folks in my Saturday meeting. Hello to all who join us!

Good morning and thanks for today's start, Suzanne. Waving hi to Pat and all who follow! Thank you for the good thoughts, am feeling well-rested and better today. Suzanne, the sun is shining here as well after a day-long deluge rain yesterday. I have my fingers crossed that Spring will come early this year so we can all get started with our growing. Thumbs up for an active week at the gym and for allowing yourself to dance like no one is watching! Dancing is just one of those "feel good" activities that is great exercise. Love the affirmation you shared today. Speaking of tiny bulbs peeking up, I got a nice surprise the other morning when I noticed that my daffodils have already popped up! Pat, it's so cool to hear that your chard has already broken ground! I really do believe that Mother Nature gives up clues about the season ahead, so I'd take that as a sure sign that warmer weather is on the way...eventually! lol Congratulations on holding the scale steady this week. I saw a slight bounce up but sort of expected it after getting back to cardio this week. I hope you'll share any interesting salad recipe finds with us. The more color and texture a salad has, the better I seem to like it. Carol, tap dancin', woohoo! What fun! Greetings to Lisa and Michelle! Hope you're both well and busily working on projects. Pat's mention of soup reminded me about my intention to transform the broccoli in my fridge into soup this weekend. I plan on making a healthy version of cream of broccoli soup and might try adding non-fat greek yogurt for the cream part. Just call it an experiment! lol Not much planned for this weekend except a couple of small projects around the house, like replacing the curtains in my sewing room with blinds and a quick trip to the market. Daily Affirmation - I keep this day simple and stress-free. Fitness Goal - Light stretching or Qigong and dog walk. Health Goal - Veggies, water, tea, and rest. Gratitude - Daffodils, for reminding me that Springtime is just around the corner! Enjoy your day, friends!

Good Afternoon, friends!
I did go to my WW mtg this morning and was down 0.8#. It was a good meeting, and a very full house again. I'm working on tracking right after meals, that does seem to help keep me on course. Also looking at continuing with a veggie-based protein supplement to use instead of the trail mix and other junk I often turn to when I let myself get too tired/hungry/stressed. I can honestly say I did miss my coffee, daily chocolate, and eggs but I was never hungry on the detox diet, possibly because of the supplements and elimination of empty carbs.
I love, love, love my dance classes. I'm taking beginning jazz dance (again, 3rd time) and level 2 tap dance , all of which are for folks over 50. It is so cool to see the happy faces on my peers as we dance across the floor, what a joy! We are so fortunate to have this program in our community.
Daily Affirmation: the little things I do make a difference (repeating from yesterday, worth my attention)
Fitness goal: walk outside, reach 10,000 steps today
Health Goal: conquering Day 10 of detox diet (adding back eggs, coffee, organic chicken)
Gratitude: the scale is moving in the right direction again
Be well! Carol

Good morning friends! It is very nice here, hoping to get in a walk before my errands. Anetta, a good way to make your broccoli soup creamy is to cook a diced potato with the broccoli then blend it all. The potato makes "cream" then topped off with yogurt or coconut milk, etc., even creamier. An old trick I learned from a NY Times article many years ago. Congrats on your loss Carol. I love that you are taking jazz dance classes. You girls are motivating me to do one of my belly dance cardio DVDs for my exercise. Daily Affirmation - Sun shines around me and from me. Fitness Report - gym for weight training; a little treadmill and stationery bike. Health Goal - prep healthy eats for the week. Gratitude - a cozy morning at home.

Good Afternoon, Dear Ones!
Thick, pea-soup fog here! Mmm, that makes me hungry for....pea soup! I could do that. Or that trick to thicken the broccoli soup sounds really good, too. I guess I want soup today.
Daily affirmation: All good actions make a difference
Fitness report: 3.3 mile brisk walk yesterday & got over 11,000 steps (& met some friendly dogs walking their people); Fitness goal: 10,000 steps today
Health goal: wind down earlier and get at least 6 hours sleep
Gratitude: having free time to do things I love
Be well! Carol
