This thread is for anyone that has been away from WWs, had a gain, and is recommitting to the program. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. We love to use first names here, so tell us yours when you post.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes it is harder to keep it off and even if we fail, we keep trying, which is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, I count on talking to you guys each day and I am blessed to count you as friends.

Good morning ROs. Whew, yesterday was an amazing day.
I lost 2.2 at WI, so took off the pesky 1 lb I'd gained and another 1.2 on top of it, so I'm back on the move again hopefully. Am at 150 lbs now, so really close to another decade. I'm so ready to be out of this one.
Then went to the city for a very exciting and uplifting day. Met Robin and as she said here yesterday, my DB and some of his friends and a couple of mine, and we mostly were able to stay together although we couldn't march in the actual march itself, too many people. We took to the side streets as others did and then went out for a bite to eat. Luckily Robin was with me because we stopped at 3:30 at a French place and I couldn't figure out whether to have a meal or not, really didn't want to eat dinner at 3:30 but still wanted to have something with the group. She happened to notice the tuna tartare which was fabulous, raw tuna, avocado and kind of a sesame taste. We figured 4 points, 5 max. It kept me until the evening when I had a toasted light English muffin, PB and an apple for dinner.
I also got just over 10,000 steps on my Fitbit yesterday!!! Never thought I'd make that total and I got my first sneakers "badge." Ridiculously pleased with myself.
Not much planned for today - brunch with DS, DDIL and DGS, supermarket, gym. Have to do some meal planning now. Back to work tomorrow, of course. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, ROs.

Hi Everyone, Just saying hi. Don't have that much to really say. Just have to get out and do some errands to do before heavy rain hits, then some cleaning up and /or organizing. This week I have extended care so not really looking forward to that at all. Makes the day feel very long. Have a good day . Bbl.

Andi, I knew you would get over the 10,000! Have fun with your DS, etc. today. I am a bit sore today, but feeling fine.
I am meeting a friend at a local museum, but just have to get out to do an errand first. Then will food shop after the museum because it is right near the Stop n Shop.
Susie, glad you got out yesterday for your DS's birthday dinner, must have been a fun time, but yes, tiring when you are not used to it.
I also didn't feel very hungry after that tuna tartare, and DH had made himself lunch late too, so wasn't too hungry. I did figure out something last night because I had bought it for him, and decided to have one myself as my dinner. Buckwheat groats, or kasha, is a very low point grain, with a very similar nutritional content as quinoa. It is 4 SP per cup. We can buy it in the northeast fairly easily as kasha, but some of you might have to look for it in a place like Whole Foods. It is a dark colored grain, and can be mixed with things like sauteed onions and mushrooms, or diced carrots and celery. I have even made something I called kasha tabbouli. I do not mix it with an egg when I am trying to keep points down, but that will not add much. It is also gluten free.

Good Morning ROs... had a massage scheduled for today, but through a series of errors on my part and that of the masseuse, we ending up changing it to a later date...so, I will head to the gym soon and have no plans afterward. I was down a couple of ounces this morning (even with the dinner out last night). DH has been counting calories for 4 days so we are eager to see what he weighs tomorrow when he goes for PT.
Janet - hope you get the errands completed before the rain
Andi - yippee for the loss!
Robin - thanks for reminding me about buckwheat...have not had it for awhile and need to get some again. I did make pancakes this morning and used some buckwheat flour that I had though (also GF pancake mix and 2 T of coconut flour). It was not the best but with DH watching calories, it was a good choice for both of us.
It is hard to go back to counting calories but I don't know how many SPs a man of 210 lbs can have and I don't think WW would tell me without him joining....so I am just counting points for him and am more or less following what he is doing...so far, so good.

Susie, I have one of those handheld WW calculators and I can tell you how many he'd get - I'll check the categories I'll need to know and then you can let me know, either here or PM if you prefer. Shoot, I can't figure out how to recalculate the daily points - my leader did it for me when I bought the little thing and I didn't pay attention. If anyone has one of these and knows how to program them, let me know. Otherwise I could ask my leader next Saturday, or I can try to Google it and see if someone posted directions...
Robin, thanks for the info on kasha. I love it but haven't made it recently just assuming it's the same points as rice. I'll have to put it on the list again. It's really satisfying to eat in winter. Hope you get over the soreness. I'm going to the gym this afternoon to do some weights and a bit of cardio. Need to keep moving, only 4200 steps today so far.
Had a nice brunch with DS and his family. DGS is 9 months old today and immensely sweet. My kids, and DD's baby, were/are more tightly wired and it's a pleasure to be with such a sunny baby. I ordered a garden salad topped with hanger steak, which seemed really lean to me but it turns out it's 7 points for 3 ounces. Oh well, I can fit it in today and will order something else next time.

Susie, I think I figured it out: I'll need your DH's weight, height, age, (I know his gender), and that's it.

Loved kasha and bowties growing up.

Janet, the bowties aren't so great, but you can make it without. I find the whole grain better if I am just cooking without the egg, and even stretch it with the onions and mushroom so eating less with a full cup as a side, which is plenty. I also use broth to cook it in. Another plus is that it cooks fast.
The museum was fun, although not as good as some of their exhibits. Sometimes they really surprise me, but this time I was disappointed. They billed it as an Ansel Adams exhibit, but really more others, and also I think they all should have had non-glare glass. I always have a good time talking with my friend though.
Andi, it is really my back that gets sore. I have a bad back from something that is congenital, and it got aggravated and caused sciatica. I had a lot of trouble with it in the past year, and have finally gotten over it being really bad. Hangar steak is tasty because it is fatty, so not surprised it has more points. Just like salmon has more points than most other fish. I know they are healthy fats, but if we count points, I guess salmon is not the best. I bought my DH Outshine fruit bars today. They are only 70 calories, but 5 SP. I will stick with my Enlighten for 3 SP. I really love those.

Good evening everyone.
My WI yesterday I was up .2 lbs. My body is doing some crazy stuff right now so I am not really worrying about my weight at the moment. I go from pain and being super nausea to being fine but as soon I smell food I feel nausea again.
Andi how exciting that you and Robin got to meet up yesterday.
Lora are you enjoying football today. I see Atlanta is stomping Green Bay.

Oh Andi, thank you so much...it will be easier to just use my cell phone and check out the points than counting calories for everything. He is 5' 10" and 210 lbs and 64 years old. He has been sooo good for these last few days and I bet he will be down 4 lbs tomorrow.

He gets 35 dailies and 42 weeklies. I would have thought he'd get more...

Andi, I agree, I would have thought more too. I also think the weight charts for men are really low.
Jana, I hope that whatever they work out for you with the gall bladder helps you feeling better. My mother has had gall bladder trouble as long as I can remember. She always had certain things that bothered her, and strange things, like cantalope. I guess it's like I find I get heartburn from cooked plums.
Lora, I am sure you are thrilled the Falcons are going to the Super Bowl, they really killed it. I hope they can do the same to Tom Brady. I am going to assume they are going to win this game. I don't want them to win even though they are my future DDIL's team. My DS became a Hawks fan when in Atlanta, but never changed his allegiance in football.
