Welcome to our 2018 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

What are your goals? What are you doing to obtain results? Are you getting the support you need? Are you doing what you need to be doing?
The current challenge is to have an amazing April. What makes and Amazing April? The answers are varied….losing weight, being AF, feeling stronger, knowing you are doing your best are but a few answers. During our Amazing AF April challenge take as many steps as you can to be the amazing you! Post your goal and the steps needed to reach it. Plan ahead.
How are you going to keep your head in the game? How are you reaching the decision each and every day to choose not to drink?
Refocus on why you are a member of this board. What do you hope to achieve? Are you looking to be AF or AIM? Have you done some soul searching?
Are you doing daily battle in your head about drinking? Is drinking helping you become the amazing person you are? How does drinking help support your goals?
Plan, plan, plan! Take it one day/meal/snack at a time and plan meals/menu for the next day. Do not factor A in your menu. However, if you have A, track it.
Track your food, drink your water, move a little more than you currently do.

Yay for the weekend!!!
Another snacky day- I have got to get my eating back in control.
The Delray Affair is this weekend- a giant arts and crafts fair. We plan on going this morning before it gets too hot. DH almost has the stepping stone path done outside. We'll probably work on it some more tomorrow morning, again, before it gets too hot.

Good Saturday morning all! I'm at work but I will probably only stay till lunch time. I kind of like coming in on Saturdays because it's quiet and I can get a lot of paperwork done!
Amy - have fun at the craft fair. I saw signs yesterday of a "7 mile yard sale" not far from me that is supposed to be held next weekend. I may try to hit that!
Carole - how fun it would be if you were able to meet up with JJ!
I talked with my cousin and her daughter a little while last night. I still think her daughter is clueless! My cousin seemed to be having more problems finding words last night but I don't know if maybe she was tired? It's just going to be a long hard road in front of them.
Liz - very proud of you for a AF/OT day! I'm doing well with the AF part but my food has just been out of control! Must reign that in!
Jan - more packing this weekend?
I need to clean the house and do laundry when I get home today. Those Cinderella chores just don't go away! Hope everyone has a wonderful start to your weekend! Murphy

Good morning!
Just a quick fly by, I have an appointment with the Apple Store to change my battery which I have been waiting for since February. So far still doing well AF/OP, and I am now past the half way point with the baby blanket that needs to be finished by next Saturday!
I am so proud of myself, I had made a blanket and sweater set for a friend to give as a gift, and only charged her for the yarn. Yesterday she brought me a bottle of Grey Goose and a $50 gift certificate to Macy's. Well, it tempted me but I poured myself a glass of raspberry/lime seltzer water and added Ocean Spray Diet Cranberry/Blackberry juice, and told DH that he could have the Goose! Non-scale victory for me, woohoo!
Amy~Sorry still a snacky day. I would love to see pictures of the stepping path that DH is working on when it is finished.
Murphy~Praying for you cousin. I need to get into Onderland again, let's try to reign in the food together. I started MFP again and weighing and measuring, and tracking. We can do this! Accountability and discipline are the keys!
Carol~That is so exciting that you might get to see JJ. How long is this bike ride? And thank you for being happy for me! Glad Alexis is trying the new med, I hope this helps!
Waving hello to GG, Jan, Cindy, and anyone that I may have missed! Need to get going! Have a great Saturday!

Just staying honest here. Have not been AF, still tracking and leaving those 6 pts a day for lite beer. Can't get past that right now but still working towards a goal of AF. Calling it AIM for now and will keep thinking it through. Liz, you are inspiring me and I know it'll be better all around to just quit. For right now I am feeling "in control" and it's working. My no blue dot yesterday was due to Dove chocolates....not A! Arggh. Went to WI this morning, slowly moving and getting closer to my next goal of 185....driver's license weight!! Today is rearranging some things so we can mop the kitchen tile, some planting and hopefully some knitting. Will also get my steps...4 days last week with over 11,000. I know that is helping too. HOpe you all have a great day. Hugs. Jan
Amy I'd love to see the walkway too!! I need to post a picture of that birthday cake!!
Liz Yay for not giving in to the Goose...hard when it's a favorite. Keep working on that blanket, I know you'll finish. We'll all work on those food choices!!
Murphy Hope your day go quickly but you get lots done. I understand those chores...never ending! But then it was so nice to hear the home inspector say what a great job we'd done keeping up our 20 yo house....he says he's seen some total messes that are way newer than ours. All those small chores and projects just keep you ahead of the game.
Carole Hoping DD new meds help. When will she be home for summer? JJ is a little out of Ames, but that's where she met me....not far at all. I hope to see her again this summer, or at least get to one of those shows where they seel the yarn and crafts.
GG hope you are having a great weekend.....has the snow melted by you yet?
Check in later friends

Need to check in, caved when I went out to lunch today food was OP, but I had 1 martini, not happy about it, but progress not perfection. Have not touched the Goose in the house, I came home and had my seltzer/juice drink instead. The urge passed.

Liz Good for you, that's when I get in trouble and say....oh well already started. Way to turn it off and stay out of the Goose. Now keep your hands and mind busy and have a great evening.
Good day here, got things done, walked, did some chores, DH got his car running, major accomplishment. Now for a quiet evening and maybe I will get to a bit of my knitting, or just read after dinner.
