Welcome to our 2018 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

What are your goals? What are you doing to obtain results? Are you getting the support you need? Are you doing what you need to be doing?
The current challenge is to have an amazing April. What makes and Amazing April? The answers are varied….losing weight, being AF, feeling stronger, knowing you are doing your best are but a few answers. During our Amazing AF April challenge take as many steps as you can to be the amazing you! Post your goal and the steps needed to reach it. Plan ahead.
How are you going to keep your head in the game? How are you reaching the decision each and every day to choose not to drink?
Refocus on why you are a member of this board. What do you hope to achieve? Are you looking to be AF or AIM? Have you done some soul searching?
Are you doing daily battle in your head about drinking? Is drinking helping you become the amazing person you are? How does drinking help support your goals?
Plan, plan, plan! Take it one day/meal/snack at a time and plan meals/menu for the next day. Do not factor A in your menu. However, if you have A, track it.

Good morning all! I sure enjoyed snuggling under the covers last night. It's still cold this morning but supposed to make it back to the 60's today. You may have seen my post on FB yesterday that said "if it gets cold one more time, I'm just going to put my Christmas tree back up!" That's how I feel! I refuse to pull my coat back out of the closet and fortunately I don't have to walk far from the car to get into the office. I'm just tired of this! LOL
Amy - WTG getting in your workout after you got home!
Carole - hope you are feeling better this morning.
Jan - my cousin's friend in Chicago set up the Go Fund Me site for her. She will have control over the money so it makes me feel better that my cousin's daughter won't be going for manicures with the money!
Liz - I'm coming to realize that beating myself up over my failures doesn't give me ANY positive help. You are wise to move on. And I'm glad the Goose has left the building! LOL
I did hear back from the dermatologist and 3 of the 4 spots were benign but one is pre-cancerous so she wants to take it off. I'm scheduled for May 22 but they want to try and work me in sooner if possible. I'm not worried. It's going to be fine. I'm glad I'm getting everything checked out. She does want me to come back for another full body check in 6 months but then annually after that. Hope everyone has a great day! Murphy

Good Morning all, Up and at um!! Going to walk today, need my 10,000 steps to off set all my eating out and "parties" Next week if DH gets going on the road I'll have 2 weeks to just feed myself, no excuses, be OP. Seeing my friends was fun, scale showed a bit of soy sauce this morning but will be gone with plenty of water and walking. DId try to make really good choices. We ate off the app. menu..chicken lettuce cups, edamame, roasted brussels and chicken skewers. Fun to catch up, will hope to see them again before leaving. Looks like sun here today, yesterday we had snow flakes....the weather is crazy everywhere!!! Hope spring is finally coming to stay. Have a great day all, will check in later. Amy Good for you doing the work out, I need to get back to my counter push ups at least!! Have you had left over turkey or all gone? Murphy Stay warm, glad you got to snuggle. I was wondering who would control the $$$$$. Liz Yep, move on, stay honest and keep taking care of yourself. My friend last night told me about another of her friends that just dies from A, took tons of fluid out of him, just couldn't process it anymore and the dies.....53. Yikes, wake up call. Carole HOpe you are feeling better, Hugs. Hi to all. Jan

Hi girls. Still here. I do have thyroid issues and am now on medication. Hoping that will give me more energy and allow this program to work. In spite of my medical issues, I have continued to overeat and have A. But I am back up on that wagon, and am doing well.
Just wanted to check in. Off to get a cavity filled. Yuck!!

Hi Everyone!
The path was heavy with good intentions but I just haven't been on it! Somehow I need to get a focus or fake it till I make it! My eating is terrible....and A has crept back in.
Today the weather started in the thirties and ended at 87 degrees. The wind is about 35 mph and it is not worth working outside. With that said I did bring another big load of stuff to the Goodwill and my two trash barrels are overflowing! I've been able to be a bit "stronger" on what goes though invariably some stuff comes back into the house. I need to remember to bring a microwave and several VHS players....does anyone use them?....on the next trip to Goodwill.
My oldest brother had a hip replacement and is doing great. My middle brother was diagnosed with prostate cancer and the oncologist feels it was caught early enough that he should be okay. Radiation has started. Not quite DB and DSIL's retirement plans.
Amy, know it has been a few days but I loved (and copied) the brain at 3 AM....struck close to home! I too look forward to photos of the walkway. Your Springsgiving sounded wonderful and a great idea!
Murphy, sad to hear about your cousin but very glad that she has a great friend helping. I hope her DD can step up. Glad you did do a full body scan. Catching stuff early seems to be the key. I like cold weather so I can have lots of blankets around me but agree it is getting ridiculous that we are in April.....we should be complaining about the heat!
Jan, Hope all is going well with the sale. It is stressful and I always felt I was being judged.....things I could live with aren't things the "turn key" buyers want but it sounds like all is good! Your plantings sound wonderful....hope the snowflakes helped with watering the plants.
GG, I am glad that you have medication for your thyroid issues. My Mom had thyroid issues and was written up in medical journals because they did experimental stuff.....of course this was about 55 years ago! Glad you are back on the wagon.....send some wagon vibes my way please. Hope getting the cavity filled was painless.
Carole, JJ is in Madrid, about 20 miles from Ames. It would be so great if you could get together! Hope Lexi is okay....trying to catch up on the posts. My SIL does the botox for migraines.
Liz, how is your ankle? (again need to read posts). Hope there is warmth and sunshine in the near future. How is DS doing? and of course DD? Celtics won!
Do need to go back and read the posts. I am setting myself a challenge to post every day....even if just to say hi! I know that without checking in, I do go off the path.
Hugs to all, Cindy
