Welcome to our 2018 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

What are your goals? What are you doing to obtain results? Are you getting the support you need? Are you doing what you need to be doing?
The current challenge is to have an amazing April. What makes and Amazing April? The answers are varied….losing weight, being AF, feeling stronger, knowing you are doing your best are but a few answers. During our Amazing AF April challenge take as many steps as you can to be the amazing you! Post your goal and the steps needed to reach it. Plan ahead.
How are you going to keep your head in the game? How are you reaching the decision each and every day to choose not to drink?
Refocus on why you are a member of this board. What do you hope to achieve? Are you looking to be AF or AIM? Have you done some soul searching?
Are you doing daily battle in your head about drinking? Is drinking helping you become the amazing person you are? How does drinking help support your goals?
Plan, plan, plan! Take it one day/meal/snack at a time and plan meals/menu for the next day. Do not factor A in your menu. However, if you have A, track it.
Track your food, drink your water, move a little more than you currently do.

Murphy- LOL over the Christmas tree remark! Good that you went to the dermatologist.
Jan- WTG making good choices at the Chinese restaurant. There is a low wall at the beach that runs for about 1/2 mile that I use to do pushups and other exercises most mornings. DH used to do them with me, but now he just "rests" and looks at the ocean, lol.
Liz- WTG for another good AF/OP day & progress on your knitting!
GG- Hope you feel better on the thyroid med.
Cindy- Yay for Goodwill & trash bin "donations"!

Good morning all! I had strange dreams about drinking last night and was so upset when I woke up till I realized they were just dreams! I remember previous times when I've stopped drinking having those dreams and I don't know why. Just asking God to prevent them!
Amy - 20,000 steps! You are amazing!
Jan - good choices at the restaurant. I guess it's the sodium that always gets me at a Chinese restaurant. Well, that and the egg rolls! LOL
Liz - I'm so glad we can encourage each other in getting back on track!
GG - I sure hope the thyroid medicine works for you! Maybe all this time that you've been thinking the problem was menopause, it was really the thyroid?
Cindy - I know it feels good to get stuff cleared out of the house! My stuff just seems to multiply on it's own! LOL
Happy that we have made it to the middle of the week. I got stuck in 2 very long meetings yesterday so I really need to make some headway with seeing patients today. Hope everyone has a great day! Murphy

I know we always say progress, but today I have to try for perfection. There's no "junk" left in the house, going for AF and staying under my 23 pts today. Knitting will keep me busy for a few hours, have things to get ready for DH trip on Sunday and I just have to focus. I didn't like how I felt last night when I went to bed and don't need a repeat reminder. BOT Have to think about yesterday's TOTD, Don't Overthink It!!! Take care all and have a productive, positive Wednesday. Amy GFY another workout! An ocean walk sounds so much better than a Mall walk!!!! Murphy Sorry about the dream, after my day I was dreaming about making and eating chocolate frosting....Yikes. Have a good day. Liz AF/op good for you. I will focus on that today and try to get some of your good vibes out here!! I need to stop justifying that one kind of A is "not as bad" as another kind of A.....still derails me!!! GG Hope the thyroid meds help. I've been taking them for years, not sure if I feel any different, but then who knows how I'd be without it?? Cindy So good to see you here. yay for taking stuff to Goodwill etc. Hoping this is all the last of the crazy weather!! Just ready to see that money in the bank and get moving on!!!! DH's cars ship out this week, that will really make it feel real, and force me into the garage for the next big purge/sale!! Carole Hope you're feeling better. Hugs. Hi to all, starting over today........Jan
