Welcome to our 2018 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

THE AMAZING AF APRIL CHALLENGE April 1-30
What are your goals? What are you doing to obtain results? Are you getting the support you need? Are you doing what you need to be doing?
The current challenge is to have an amazing April. What makes and Amazing April? The answers are varied….losing weight, being AF, feeling stronger, knowing you are doing your best are but a few answers. During our Amazing AF April challenge take as many steps as you can to be the amazing you! Post your goal and the steps needed to reach it. Plan ahead.
How are you going to keep your head in the game? How are you reaching the decision each and every day to choose not to drink?
Refocus on why you are a member of this board. What do you hope to achieve? Are you looking to be AF or AIM? Have you done some soul searching?
Are you doing daily battle in your head about drinking? Is drinking helping you become the amazing person you are? How does drinking help support your goals?
Plan, plan, plan! Take it one day/meal/snack at a time and plan meals/menu for the next day. Do not factor A in your menu. However, if you have A, track it.
Track your food, drink your water, move a little more than you currently do.
April showers bring May flowers but April goals bring a wonderful May! Success Vibes!

TGIF!!! The weeks seem long, but the month is flying by, if that makes any sense.
DD seemed to like her gifts. I ended up ordering a pot roast quesadilla at the Mexican restaurant, brought half of it home for DH to have for lunch.

Murphy- Woohoo for 19 days AF & for ordering Body Groove!
Jan- Happy Birthday to DH! We've traveled with cats before- they usually settle in fairly quickly. Annie, our outdoor cat, once rode most of the 1200 miles to Indiana lying between DH's shoulders and the headrest when he was driving.
GG- Happy grandma day!
Cindy- Sorry about the fire ants- ouch!

Good morning all! My morning started out sad. I heard that a co-worker who has been battling cancer for at least 8 years passed away yesterday. He had retired in December and I knew that he had stopped treatments and had home hospice but it still seemed quick. He was a good man and his loss will be felt.
Amy - that quesadilla sounds good!
Cindy - so sorry about the fire ants. That's something we don't have to deal with here that I am aware of. My Body Groove DVD's should be here on Monday but I am going to see if I can find some of them on You Tube this weekend.
GG - have a fun day with the grands!
Jan - I'm sure the kitties will do fine with the trip. They will settle in quickly too. It will be strange for you to have 18 days at the house by yourself! What is DH going to be doing at the new house and will he fly home? How is DS feeling about your move?
I'm going to work tomorrow. I'm getting tired of working every day! I'm too old for this! Probably need to pick up some fresh veggies at the store sometime over the weekend but no other big plans. Hope you all have a good day. Murphy

Good morning!
Just a quick fly by, I finished the blanket yay, just have to weave in the ends! I have not been AF for a couple of days, it seems that A has crept back into my life as well. And of course with that triggers the munchies. Still have to do my stats and read posts from the past few days, but just wanted to say hello and wish everyone a FABULOUS FRIDAY!!!

Morning friends, Happy Friday!! The plan here is to keep working away at things, DH will start packing up his truck and then I get to see what else I can squeeze in for the ride there. Ready to get in the garage and start sorting for a sale while he's gone. Also plan to get on track while he's away. I cannot get my eating and A nailed down right now. My days start out great and then fall apart @5....may go up to Oregon a few days when DH is gone to my friends house. I use it as my "drying" out, cleansing place They eat mostly vegan, and don't drink. AFter a few days I feel like I have my "control" back. We'll see. Spent all afternoon yesterday talking/contacting moving companies. SOme sounded very fishy, had prices from 3500 - 12,000..what the??? Good reviews, bad reviews, price changes when they show up, we are now debating just getting another truck and moving again on our own. We just have big furniture left, I just didn't want to have to lift it all, but really it may be easier. Just ready to be done I guess. No birthday plans yet for DH but it's a beautiful day so maybe we'll BBQ something. Hope you all have a good one. Will go to my meeting tomorrow but maybe not WI, just can't face the scale after I sabotage myself....always when I get to a new lowest weight? Something to ponder there I'm sure. Hugs, Jan Murphy Sorry about your friend, so sad when they just retire and then have so little time to "live". DH is hoping to get some projects started, electrical...some ceiling fans, possibly get a fence built...he'll hire people. Keep unpacking! Hope you get some free time this weekend to just enjoy! Amy Glad DD enjoyed her BD. I figure the cat doesn't have much choice Did you finish in the backyard?? Liz Yay for finishing the blanket! I think we both need some pixie dust.......when I find it I will send you some GG Take care of your back, have a good day with the GK's!! Cindy Ouch, glad we don't have fire ants!! I don't think DH has gone on an alone trip since college when he drove out here from Rhode Island!! He's met up with friends and such but not 4 days on the road alone....I worry but also give him kudos that he wants to do this. He is antsy working around here and wants to get things going at the new house....Yay for me. Take care of yourself, hope the DR. finds some answers. Carole Hope you are feeling well, any weekend plans? Hi to all.

Hi All!
Did my blood work, tech did a good job...as I left, the waiting room had filled up. Then off to the grocery store, then stopped at Kohl's....those 30% off coupons "speak" to me....DS needed to replace a purple dress shirt. Mission accomplished. Then to Costco, got gas, then bought liquids....mainly flavored water....stared at plants but didn't buy! Then to dry cleaners and then to Walmart to buy cat treats....got to my car and took one of my "old" pain pills. It finally kicked in once home but by then I was ready to eat anything in sight....and kinda, sorta did. I admit to hoarding my old pills and am going to take one at bedtime so I can sleep through the night and wake up functioning.
Amy, tacos sound delicious, glad DD had a nice birthday! Will the weekend belong to you or do you have take home work?
Murphy, so sorry about your co-worker. It is so hard. Going to look for a You Tube video of the work out!
Liz, so glad to see you check in....I finally came back....I find if I check in, chat, the A doesn't have as much of a chance to creep in.
Jan, Sounds like a trip to visit friends in Oregon is in order!! I don't know if the service is available in your area but if you decide to get a truck....see if the local firefighters will load it. In our area, a lot of the firefights pick up part time work doing that type of work. Also Budget trucks will send in a crew to load a truck, and then another crew can unload it at the other end. Just thoughts. Very safe travels for DH.
GG, hope you are doing well and you had a great day with the GKs!
Carole, are you feeling better?
Going to watch Celtics....not feeling good about this game.....have no illusions about making it to the finals.
Tomorrow is a new start and can stop the free fall now!
Hugs to all, Cindy
