Good Morning,
Hopefully you're enjoying good weather again today!
Yesterday TaDas: -oil change on car -gassed up -car washed/vacuumed -snacks/lunch prepared for DH and kids road trip to visit WSU this weekend to tour -field trip to Hobby Lobby, got one more frame, same as above, used 40% off coupon, cost about $7.80, which I think is great to end up with ready framed, rustic piece. -return made to Kohls form trying to find stuff for DD, glad that's out of here -craft field trip later afternoon about 30 minutes away to visit store to get more chalk paint, certain brand.
Crafting: Got out the craft table yesterday afternoon after people left. Did inventory from house and garage to reacquaint myself with what I have on hand to work on. Good thing cause there is A LOT!!! It's pretty clear I DO NOT NEED to be purchasing "new" items to work on until I've worked through what I have. While I was disappointed that I had mentally lost track of what I had, I do still like everything that's here and don't regret the purchases, they are interesting and unique. I was able to get a color of chalk paint at that store that is closer to the look of leather/material that a lot of old Native American beadwork is done on, without being yellow, white or brown...it is like a clayish tan and I think almost any color of acrylic I have will look amazing on it whereas with darker colors, black, dark grey and cowboy blue base it limits darker colors because they don't show up. I've painted three items I want to do first, two old cutting boards from antique store w/handles with the hole that can be hung for display that no one would EVER want to use for cutting board again in a million years, and a board I found with ugly picture that already had two screw hangers screwed into it. Somethiing I realize is I should spend some time making a better catalog of leaves, flowers and berries to work from. THis way I can pick things from my catalog, rather than looking at examples of how the've been arranged already on pieces as I'm trying to come up with my "own" arrangement, not copy. Thanks for listening to all of that.
So I'm out of graphite paper and this is a necessity to move forward. I think I'm going to go get that, stop by a regular paint store in same neighborhood and then take myself to the high school matinee of "Mary Poppins" I heard there's a great tap number in there that makes the whole thing worthwhile.
Washed the hand wash items in kitchen, off to shower.
Z.

Z, Interesting recap! Sounds like you are gearing up for some fun time producing more art!!!
I spent the day in town. Took Clair to class and then talked to her trainer about her future. She really wants Clair to pursue being a therapy dog. We decided to hold off on her Canine Good Citizen test and I think one of the reasons is your comments about your DS and English. Clair needs a tutor to get over some of her rough spots!
Now the trainer decided that what I am going to do is to come tomorrow and spend three hours working with the evaluators, doing the assistant work such as being a member of a crowd that the dogs have to walk through etc. Then I will be able to see the other tests of which I think they will do four other kinds. Sort of advanced Canine Good Citizen, Urban Good Citizen and two types of therapy tests. This is all so that I keep going on getting Clair into work as a therapy dog. The instructor makes me laugh as she has a plan that I am supposed to follow because she thinks Clair would make a great therapy dog. She was a 6th grade teacher and I think I am one of her pupils LOL. Anyway this plan suits me. Just told her that we will have to see how Clair develops as it may be that she will not want to do this type of work when she gets older and that it may take a year or more to get there.
Otherwise I had a wonderful day as the weather is perfect!
Hope you are having fun crafting!
