Welcome to our 2018 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

THE AMAZING AF APRIL CHALLENGE April 1-30
What are your goals? What are you doing to obtain results? Are you getting the support you need? Are you doing what you need to be doing?
The current challenge is to have an amazing April. What makes and Amazing April? The answers are varied….losing weight, being AF, feeling stronger, knowing you are doing your best are but a few answers. During our Amazing AF April challenge take as many steps as you can to be the amazing you! Post your goal and the steps needed to reach it. Plan ahead.
How are you going to keep your head in the game? How are you reaching the decision each and every day to choose not to drink?
Refocus on why you are a member of this board. What do you hope to achieve? Are you looking to be AF or AIM? Have you done some soul searching?
Are you doing daily battle in your head about drinking? Is drinking helping you become the amazing person you are? How does drinking help support your goals?
Plan, plan, plan! Take it one day/meal/snack at a time and plan meals/menu for the next day. Do not factor A in your menu. However, if you have A, track it.
Track your food, drink your water, move a little more than you currently do.
April showers bring May flowers but April goals bring a wonderful May! Success Vibes!

Got a blue dot yesterday- yay! No rain yesterday, other than the occasional sprinkle. Rain chances are higher today. We got the landscape edging done and bought more plants. We'll do the planting today, then we just have mulch and pea gravel to put down. I bought a hydrangea at Orchard that was 50% off. It's iffy if it will bloom here again, but the lady at the store said it's worth a shot.

Here we go... time to get serious. DH left a bit ago, couldn't sleep so decided to get moving. I had breakfast with him and now I need to make my own good choices for the next two plus weeks. Good Sunday afternoon! I've had a good day. Church this morning. The choir didn't sing today so it was nice to just sit in the congregation. Came home and have done some cooking and I just did a workout with Body Groove. It was fun! Not terribly strenuous but I did work up a bit of a sweat. Again, anything that will get me moving is good!
Amy - can't wait to see pictures of your yard!
GG - so glad you had fun with Addi! I would imagine that it would be a lot easier to curb you A if DH is on board with it too.
Jan - hope DH has a safe and uneventful trip. And I hope you enjoy the quiet time to yourself!
Carole - I had a pet flying squirrel when I was little! We named him Alvin!
I made some chicken salad for supper and I have my protein shakes ready for this week. It's going to be a good week! Hope everyone has a great afternoon! Murphy

Hi Everyone!
Looking forward to a Monday restart! Sunday is over. DS and BSCGF broke up. DB did not start the radiation because the cancer may have metastasized. Just been a "weekend" . Fresh start tomorrow.
Yesterday received a package from the RA drug company. They gave me a co-pay refund check and a RA user friendly water bottle....know it is PR but was thankful for the refund check. Need to start working on medicare plans that are looming in my future. My pain meds were denied by my insurance. I understand the political atmosphere but when did your doctor not know better?? I am not doctor shopping!! Anyway, I have to figure out something and hope that seeing the doctor on Wednesday will help. Need to find a more proactive approach.
Will do better with personals tomorrow. Hugs to all, Cindy
