Welcome to our 2018 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

What are your goals? What are you doing to obtain results? Are you getting the support you need? Are you doing what you need to be doing?
The current challenge is to have an amazing April. What makes and Amazing April? The answers are varied….losing weight, being AF, feeling stronger, knowing you are doing your best are but a few answers. During our Amazing AF April challenge take as many steps as you can to be the amazing you! Post your goal and the steps needed to reach it. Plan ahead.
How are you going to keep your head in the game? How are you reaching the decision each and every day to choose not to drink?
Refocus on why you are a member of this board. What do you hope to achieve? Are you looking to be AF or AIM? Have you done some soul searching?
Are you doing daily battle in your head about drinking? Is drinking helping you become the amazing person you are? How does drinking help support your goals?
Plan, plan, plan! Take it one day/meal/snack at a time and plan meals/menu for the next day. Do not factor A in your menu. However, if you have A, track it.
Track your food, drink your water, move a little more than you currently do.

The weekend sure did go by fast! We got all the plants planted, but were short a few, so I stopped and bought more on the way to pick up DD. The weather cooperated for the most part, a lot of thunder, but not much rain.

Good morning all! It's raining puppies and kittens here and it's supposed to keep it up until Weds! Awfully glad I don't have to be out in it for the most part! I need to go to my other clinic for a couple of hours mid morning but that should be the last visit there. Our patient census is down right now at my home clinic so I will be picking up another small clinic in Knoxville but that should just be a short visit every week. I had a good day yesterday. AF, food OT and I exercised! Been a long time since I had a triple Bravo!! LOL
Amy - I'll be happy to send some of our rain your way if you'd like! LOL
Cindy - you have had a rough weekend! I think the government needs to step in on the over prescription of all the narcotics but not in cases like yours! You and your doctor should be able to come to a decision based on YOUR needs! Sorry about DS. Is he ok with the decision?
Jan - Enjoying the quiet house?
Carole - hope your antibiotics kick in quickly and you are feeling better!
Liz - how was the shower? Hope you get a good report from the doctor.
GG - how was church yesterday? Does DH go with you?
Not much else going on around here. Let's keep it quiet! LOL Everyone have a great day! Murphy

Hello girls, just went for a morning walk and feeling like the next weeks will be good. Felt a little "lost" yesterday, avoided the mindless eating, got 16 AP and ate 23/23 for my dot. No rollovers like i'd hoped for but still feels like a victory. DH is doing fine on the drive so far, should end up in Wyoming this evening. Trying to avoid the store and temptations as much as possible. May make a Costco run this week and get a rotisserie chicken and a few things. Phone keeps ringing with moving companies, almost all that I've looked up have gotten terrible reviews, broken furniture, dirty things they store in a warehouse while waiting to fill a truck, hard to settle insurance...just more reasons to think about doing it ourselves....Our things will show up when we do! No other big news from here. HOpe yo all have a nice day whether it's rain or shine in your neighborhood!! Jan

Hi girls. It finally feels like spring here. I did try some bike riding. I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't hurt my leg! I've been on a role this week. I'm hoping it shows up on the scale! I just haven't had any activity, so it's hard to tell. I know the bigger our why, the easier it is to stay focused with our eating. It works for A too. Knowing I can't have A with my meds has helped. I know I want those meds to work!
Amy: This whole year is flying by!! It's hard to believe that dh has been retired for a year already!
Murphy: DH goes to church with me if I'm able to sit with him. Yesterday I was on the organ, and then went to sing with the children's choir. They are getting ready to sing for Mothers Day. Do you still go to celebrate Recovery on Thursdays?
Jan: I'll bet it's strange not having dh there. At first it's ok, and then, ok, let's get back to normal!
Cindy: who initiated the breakup?

How do I lose posts?
Hi Everyone!
DS initiated the breakup. He told her that after a lot of thought, he realizes that they are on different paths and he could not see a future with her. She had asked him to move in, he said no, she quit her job, has no visible means of income and seems to use her health problems when it is convenient. She has bounced from being pathetic, nasty, debasing herself and today sent texts to his co-workers asking who is he sleeping with, threatening one co-worker. She has gone off the rails. One of the bankers' husband is a police officer and he has been made aware of the situation. Everyone knows what her car looks like in case she shows up. DS said he knew before Easter that there were issues and was hoping that she would just realize and accept that it was best to move on. She didn't so he told her. I hope she will stop before she causes more problems but I feel she has become unhinged. On an up note, at least DS knew he needed to get out of the situation.
I went out with a friend today, nice time, she works retail so her schedule can be crazy. Before I left the house I made sure blinds were closed, all doors locked including to the porch and detached garage. I didn't think she would show up here but I didn't want to take any chance of finding her here when I got home.
GG, love that you and DH are drinking sparkling water!
Jan, glad to hear that DH is doing well on his trip. Moving companies can be a nightmare. When the company would move us, we still had damage. The first move the packers used my dresses to pack DH's bow and arrows. On another move, as they loaded a car on the truck, they forgot to put the brakes on and it rolled back out....luckily no damage. I swore after our move to Austin, we would not move again....famous last words. Good luck with the search.
Murphy, the rains are coming here tonight! How far is Knoxville from where you live? Congrats on the triple bravo!
Liz, what did the doctor say?
Carole, are you feeling better?
Amy, I am making a visual image of your plants and walkway. Can't wait to see photos.
Tomorrow I need to complete some forms to be part of a class action lawsuit. A company DH had invested in went bankrupt and turns out the prospectus were filled with "misleading information". We lost most of the money invested before I sold the stock. I don't imagine there will be much of a payout if it ever gets settled but figure it is worth filing. I need to go back through files to find info so guess I will be getting rid of more paperwork tomorrow.
Hope everyone is doing well! Hugs, Cindy
