Welcome to our 2018 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

We got a LOT of rain yesterday, but we needed it. I ordered a rain barrel from Amazon, which should come in handy during the rainy season.
I did a Walmart run before work yesterday- got quite a bit of stuff, but they also did not have a lot of the odds and ends I was looking for.

Good morning all and happy hump day!! I think the rain has ended for a day or two and I'm so glad! I think it's supposed to rain again on Friday but it's nice to have a break! LOL
Amy - glad you got some rain. Will the rain barrel be connected to your gutters? I've never had one so I don't know how they work.
Jan - glad you are enjoying your "bachelorette" days! LOL And I'm really glad that DH didn't try to push it through the rain. Hope you can find some strong teenagers who will help with loading and unloading!
Carole - woo hoo for riding your bike to work! Is the participation in the ride across Iowa kind of a lottery thing? I'm still hoping you can get together with JJ!
My eating has been better the last few days. Not perfect but better and I'm proud of that! Hope the scale reflects that this weekend! Everyone have a fabulous day! Murphy

Good morning, Hope you all have your good, OP day planned I will be recovering from yesterday's indulgences and was very happy to see my points back this morning!! Knitting will keep me busy this morning, then heading down to see some school friends this afternoon. Ha, ha, avoiding my chores around the house while DH is away!! Will get back to business tomorrow, have a mover coming to give an estimate and then will work in the garage and sort some sale/purge things. Need to get my breakfast going and start moving. Happy Hump day all. Jan GG Glad the scale went down.....keep up the good eating. Murphy I just need to start doing some weight lifting or push ups so I could actually be of some help moving furniture Glad your rain has stopped, I think DH is getting better weather today too. He plans to get off I 80 today and do some smaller roads through Iowa....just sick of the freeway. Amy We finally bought 2 big rubbermaid garbage cans to use as rain barrels, We had one that had a hose spigot at the bottom and it always wanted to leak. I just use a pitcher to scoop out the water. Hope yours works better!! Carole Glad you're feeling better, anxious to hear about the bike lottery... Good luck!!

Hello friends! Just got back from Ty's game, they lost in extra innings😤 he did great in the field, not so well batting. I picked diane up from cataract surgery today. She really makes me so angry. She just wastes her life. She wanted me to buy her pop and graham crackers--I refused to. Told her I wasn't contributing to her swollen legs. She was not happy with me! My aunt is being moved to hospice because of a brain bleed. We just got the bad news she was in the hospital yesterday and probably not going to make it. She fell on her face I guess. She's 87 years old and lived her life! She has a bridge tournament tomorrow! Very wonderful person. It is 6 years today since my mom died. I sure do miss her.
I'll try to be more upbeat tomorrow have a wonderful night.

Carole I just figure this is the place to not be upbeat if you don't feel it, no worries, no judgement. I went to meet my school friend this afternoon and learned that our teaching "partner" age 51 is in ICU, been in for a week. First surgery for hernia but now not sure what's going on, bleeding, AFIB, yuck. This is a runner, healthy person, told he has early pancreitus.....not a big drinker. Never know how things will work out or for whom. Trying to take each day at a time, feel blessed for what we can do and pray for those that can't. It's too bad that DMIL doesn't care about her life, try not to take it personally. HOlding you in good thoughts. Hugs.
