Good morning.
This thread is for anyone that has been away from WWs, had a gain, and is recommitting to the program. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. We love to use first names here, so tell us yours when you post.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes it is harder to keep it off and even if we fail, we keep trying, which is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, I count on talking to you guys each day and I am blessed to count you as friends.

Good morning everyone -
Susie, looks like we're posting at the same time.
Last night I cooked some chicken tenderloins and added them into some broccoli slaw that I cooked with a bit of rice vinegar, soy sauce, and a touch of teriyaki. It was one of the few times that I just threw things together and was pretty happy with the outcome! So I have two more servings of that. Yesterday I was pretty lazy at work so I want to not continue that into today!
We are getting excited for our trip to Iceland in March and I spent a lot of time yesterday looking up baggage that would meet the measurements for the free carry on bag. Haha.
Speaking of book clubs, I'm not in any because I can be a very slow reader. But I just read Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes. It was an easy read and I read it in about 2 weeks or so which is pretty fast for me! I liked how it was about putting yourself out there more and having some courage - even if that means saying yes to telling people no.
Happy Tuesday!

Good Morning ROs...up early and off to my Balance and Stretch class...was a little late, but better late than not at all - right? Need to change and get to tap dancing - I skipped it last week because of the meeting about DM and thinking I would be gone from home for too long, so I am looking forward to it today. Tuesdays are my busiest days in general because of TD and Spanish classes. I have a group dinner tonight, but we meet at 4:30 so that is not so bad - I will not be out late. DH is alone a lot on Tuesdays if I have an evening function. Book Club was fun (as usual) even though I hadn't read the book - ha - I did start it yesterday though and have already read the next book for both book clubs so that is a help. Food was fabulous (as usual) and I only gained .2 so that is pretty good. I need to be really careful today because my neighbor friends are bringing dinner tomorrow and that will be another yummy treat (with wine).
Andi - I am starting to count points for DH today. He has really cut down and will probably try to stick to the basic 35 and not eat any weeklies. The DR has not given him any weight suggestions, but I know that for his BMI to be 25.8, he has to weigh 180, so he needs to lose another 27 lbs. He has lost that much before but was unable to maintain it and YES the therapist mentioned that it would be easier to walk.
OK...off and running...bbl

Susie, I am sure you are typing now. I have Behind Closed Doors on hold at the library, and the other book sounds interesting, so may put that on my TBR. I am only in 1 book club now, the other fell apart, and we only meet every 6-8 weeks. I do a lot of other reading though. We had picked out the next 2 books, and by now I have read both. We try not to pick books that have too long a wait list, or else we pick them 2 books out, and they usually come up. I was already on the wait list for Underground Railroad, which we won't do until March, and came up for it a few weeks ago. If I don't remember everything from a book, it's fine because some of the people come and don't even read the book. We are the ones who, start at 7, and sometimes at 9 someone says, "Do you think we should talk about the book?" We now have a new member though who starts up a discussion earlier.
Andi, I was worried about you last night because of the talk of snow up by you. We did not have as much rain as I was expecting, but high winds. I have seen a lot of branches down, but luckily no trees knocked over. I guess all the precarious one came down during Sandy. I was concerned about a power outage, but my mother now has a whole house generator, so that is always a back up. She only live 3/4 mile from us.
Taking some realtors out to lunch today, so have to get moving getting showered and ready.

Amanda, you keep mentioning that book, and I keep saying to myself that I have to put it on my list, and then forget.
Susie, I was thinking that your DH didn't have to weigh as little as the weight charts say. My sons are both 6 ft, and I know when they are at 180 they look fairly thin to me. The charts say in the 160's though. I know what you mean about the book clubs being fun no matter what. I am sure it is just good to get out with a group of friends.

Hello all.
I got the results of last week's scan this morning in my online medical chart. According to results my gallbladder is only functioning at 35%. I guess that is bad and I am guessing that is based on 100% but I could be wrong.
Yesterday was actually not to bad of a day. Today I haven't felt great. I meet with the surgeon at 1:30 and I will find out then when he wants to do the surgery. I kept thinking I would try to put it off until next week but everyone tells me I should do it ASAP.
I wanted to have things a little more settled at work and I am not 100% sure how long I will need to be out of work.
I am in such a blah mood.
Amanda your dinner last night sounds good to me. Glad you enjoyed it.
Susie, Robin and Andi - how did you find your book clubs? I think Susie mentioned she was in one with former co-workers. I think I would like to do something like that. I do have 1 friend who is a member of a book club but she goes to PA once a month to do it with her cousin. I certainly do not want to drive to PA once a month for a book club.
Waving to everyone.

Jana, I am sure you will have a good laugh about how I found mine. Back in 2002, one of the many times I was on WW in the past, I discovered their message boards. Someone posted, "looking for Jewish ladies in Atlanta". My son had just been accepted to Emory, so I answered her. From there, we started a group that we renamed, then branched out to be inclusive. We started to get together, and one of the other women was from NYC. She mentioned a book club, and I asked her if I could join. My other one that just fell apart was in my local neighborhood. One of our neighbors died, and the kids were clearing out the house and put out a box of books. My next door neighbor and I were looking through the books together, starting talking, and she mentioned her book club was looking for new members. They were a much more organized book club, actually went through questions, asked everyone to answer each one. It is easy now to get book club questions online. Some of the libraries have book clubs, so you might want to start there, or ask your local library if they know of any, and if they would pass your name on. It's a nice way to meet different people too. By the way, if the idea of taking off from work too soon stresses you out too much, I think you can wait for the surgery. You might have to watch what you are eating more, but I don't think you can do any damage to yourself by waiting.

My lunch worked out great, I will hopefully get referrals from it. I also had a delicious lunch, and found a great thing to eat, soba noodles. I had seared tuna with soba noodle salad. I had looked at their menu in advance, and checked points, and soba noodles are 3 SP for one cup cooked. The noodles were mixed with arugula, and probably less than a cup, but I counted for a cup, and a TB of sesame oil, not knowing exactly what was in it. The tuna is only 1 SP for 4 ounces, so that is really good.

Back home for the evening. Dinner with my group of "Lovely Ladies" (which a waitress once called us) was wonderful. We were an official Red Hat group but dropped out of the national organization but wanted to stay together, so we meet once a month for lunch or dinner. It was a rushed day...I was late for 3 things (tap dancing, Spanish, and dinner) and it stresses me and I get shortness of breath. Before Spanish Iwas trying to get DH lunch and before dinner, I was trying to help DH with toileting, etc. I made sure that next month we are not meeting on a Tuesday.
Jana - my neighborhood book club was started by my Dfriend who was trying to help her DSon's girlfriend meet some people. They have since broken up and she only attended about 2 -3 times but we remained together - ha! I suggest you ask some of your co-workers or friends/neighbors if they would like to start a book club.

Good evening ROs. The weather here was pretty bad today. I got up early this morning and saw there was white on the ground - frozen sleet! Yuck. I called in a one hour delayed opening for our offices and settled in to wait for the snow removal people. Who just didn't show up - they plowed the roadway in my development but not the driveways, and i have a fairly long one comparatively and have to back out and curve around up to the road. I did a lot of shoveling, and trying to shovel inches of frozen sleet is the hardest thing I've ever had to do. My 80 year old neighbor, bless his heart, helped me. I pulled a muscle (of course) along my back rib cage and am pretty uncomfortable, took some Advil again now. I did get to work and my office south of here had only rain. Felt like a different climate zone altogether. Glad to be home now - it's sleeting again.
I was over my points a bit today - it was just kind of a hungry day at work for me today plus I don't have enough to do so obsessed about all the problems and all the things I'm not managing well at my agency. Not good. The last two days I was under in points so I figure it'a wash although technically I got into my weeklies today by about 6.
Robin, glad you didn't have any downed trees or snow. Your lunch sounds fabulous. I like soba noodles a lot, didn't realize they were such a points bargain.
Jana, I found my book club through a woman in my yoga class that I went out for coffee with and she mentioned to me she's in a book club. I expressed interest and she invited me to join. It's a really small one - there are only 4 of us, but the 3 women have been meeting for years and others kind of come and go.
Susie, hope the points works for your DH. Considering all the weight your DH has already lost and all he's been through, I bet he'll be able to get those 27 lbs off. He's lucky to have you cook and count for him (and everything else). I'm sure he knows it. I hate feeling rushed and getting late to things as you did today, so I sympathize. Glad you don't have to have a day like this again.
Amanda, your dinner sounds great and I love having leftovers.
Have a good evening, all.

Good evening friends, It was a busy day today and I'm within reach of 10k steps today. That's a rarity for a weekday for me. Me and a few others in my department went down to our new distribution center for a tour. That place is HUGE and all of the electronics, automation and robotics are amazing (to us of the geek persuasion). Afterwards, on the way back to the office, 3 of us stopped at Mellow Mushroom for a bite of lunch - we were starving. The have a new veggie burger that is made with quinoa, brown rice, kale and some other stuff, that sounded interesting to me so I got that. I had them leave off the cheese, but kept the avocado slices, and I didn't eat the bun. It was actually very good. I generally don't eat veggie burgers, because most of them are made with black beans, and those just make me miserable. Anyway, today was my Friday, so I'm off until Monday. I'm still trying to use up my 2016 vacation time. So I'm looking forward to the next few days and hoping to catch up on some reading, a little housework, and maybe a nap or two I was hoping for the gym tomorrow, but my knees are a little achy from all that walking and standing on concrete floors. Well shoot, DH is ready to catch up on some Amazon Prime, so I guess I need to stop posting for now. If not tonight, I'll definitely be back tomorrow.

Andi, if you have a heating pad, try that for your back if it still hurts. I find that very helpful. Sorry about that ice, I don't get that kind of major ice coating often, but have had it. We got an ice chopper, but what a job. There have been plenty of times though where ice has accumulated closer to the street, or underneath where the car tired had ridden, and I usually just leave it until it starts to melt, and getting rid of that is bad enough.
Susie, I am like you about being late. I call if I think I might be late. When I met my friend at the museum the other day I called, because I know she is always early. I pulled into the parking lot at 1:00 on the dot, when we were supposed to meet, and she was waiting in her car and gave me a "you're late" type of look when I would never call that late.
Lora, you must have gotten all that walking in getting the tour of the warehouse. Sounds like you made a good choice with the veggie burger, especially not having the bun.
Andi, I would agree with you, 6 points over balances out the under points the other days, but seeing as you are more than half way through the week, using some weeklies isn't so bad.
I have another lunch out tomorrow for a women's networking event. I know the restaurant, but have no idea what they will offer us. The one thing I do know is that the person who runs this group is on WW, so I assume she might pick at least one point friendly item.

Hi all.
Appointment with the surgeon went well. His surgery nurse will be calling me to schedule surgery. He said I could wait if I wanted. The pain will eventually get worse but as Robin stated above I should be able to control it mostly with diet. I am going to try to get on the schedule next week to get it over with.
Since I have a desk job there is a possibility I will only be out of work for a week.
Today at work they moved the due date of the manuals I have been working on to the end of February. I only have 4 more to do but I still appreciate the extension.
Hope you all have a good night.
