Good morning or afternoon, depending on where you are.
Congratulations, Lori! Both on the new gig and pending completion of your Masters!
Dead squirrel in a hot water pipe? How does that happen?
I normally do wear sneakers on the way to/from the train and stuff my dress shoes in my backpack. I was just half asleep the other day and put on my dress shoes. The sneakers are a pair of retired running shoes. Because everything is barking this morning, I'm wearing an active pair to see if cushioning that isn't 'tired' might help.
I never made it into the board meeting yesterday. Apparently, they made do without me. Instead, I spent 90 minutes explaining to Right Brain why the fundraising arm of the operation isn't getting the job done even though we're ahead on donations for the year. This led to a whole introductory accounting class explaining accrual vs cash basis accounting.
So, the Right Brain thing. The CEO travels a lot. So, he depends on a pair of assistants to keep up to date on things. Left Brain handles the schedule and paperwork and such - very detail oriented. RB is the policy wonk who sits in on meetings when the CEO can't and helps with strategic initiatives. When either is in the room, they are a proxy for the CEO.
I think I might have broken RB yesterday.

Good morning
Lou, you crack me up. Hope the new running shoes help your feet today.
Lori, congratulations you are so close! I'm sure you will do great. Also congratulations on the new job. A 5 minute commute will be awesome.
Vicki, gee critters can cause so much damage. Mice cause havoc here.
Virginia, hope all goes well with the rest of setting up the office. I'm sure you will miss your yoga classes.
Debbie, I so wish I could visit you. My life has changed so much with the vertigo issues. I make the best of it. What's on tap for today?
The sun is out, so I will get my steps in today for sure. I fell short yesterday.
Brenda

Hi, Louis - thanks for the start. Will a plate of cookies fix RB? I feel bad for him. I also use used to use retired running shoes for walking, since I don't run anymore I get new walking shoes and my feet are so much happier. I even wear the FiveFinger shoes, they really make my feet happy. Brenda - sounds like you are having a great day. Life changes and we have adapt, it happens to us all.
Today I did the lovely walk to climbing , I walk right past the gym so I stopped on the way home and swam a little. Ted won the poker game last night! Debbie

Hello,
Good morning, Lou. You are my only same time zone peep! Understand about the retired shoes, that is kinda how I roll. I used retired walking or indoor workout shoes for short jaunts, since they usually have some life in them. I am cracking up thinking about you breaking Right Brain with your explanations. Interesting how the Right Brain/Left Brain setup works with the CEO. It sounds as if the three of them have a good working relationship.
Hi Brenda, on the subject of setting up my office, I got a visit from the new occupant of my former office this morning, I about freaked because I thought I had some time to get Every. Little. Thing. cleared out. Turns out she was scoping it for # of data drops and their location, plus furniture. She was not shoving me out immediately. Whew. I may have to work on it this weekend to get it completed so that I don't have it hanging. I don't have enough time in my workday to get the moving done + my real work, although I can work small things in here and there. The new occupant said she is probably going to move over a weekend for the very same reason. RE: my hip, it is still being somewhat wonky, but Monday's PT helped a lot.
Hi Vicki, rodents of any kind are sooo destructive, cute as they may be. They belong outdoors, not in our houses. They are opportunists, though...I am sorry that they decided to move in to your house. I hope that the repairs can be done quickly and not cost too much $. We have issues with mice sometimes when the fields near us get harvested and that can be enough of a challenge.
Hi Debbie, I am trying to figure out which year I will come to see you. BWF would love to come too, and she is a compatible travel companion for me. We need to budget and figure out when we both could take time off from our jobs.
Waving hi to Lori, good presentation vibes ~~~ going to you for today.
Today is work, last yoga class for awhile at midday. I am going to get some private Essentrics classes in while our building renovation is in progress. Our instructor lives near my office building and she is working on setting up a studio in her home. I did not leave work in time to do my planned walk back and forth to DS' place yesterday. Maybe today. I need some miles to be ready for my back to back HMs next month. I am really moving slowly this morning, not sure why I am in such a fog. I am ready for it to lift, though.
Take care, Ginia

Hi,
Hi Debbie...I am excited about this, too. Time and budget will both be considerations re:when to go. We have not done any firm planning, and I also need to know from you if there are times that we should avoid because you will have other visitors or other plans. It will be fun!
Later, Ginia
