Angie there are some parts of MO that are amongst the prettiest in the US. So green and hilly. It's like the "overlooked" state unless people go to the Arch or Branson. And they do have good BBQ. Cute on Cara's performance.
SHEESH BECKY that entire SS thing is crappy for you. Especially when you didn't know to file for something you wouldn't use AND you weren't 65. They must trap LOTS of people that way. But again, it's the length of the punishment doesn't fit the inadvertent "crime."
So I had my pre-bedtime meal of a sandwich, chips and 2 halos and then STOPPED eating. And I didn't wake up w/ reflux which happens if my tummy is really empty.
And it's so nice to cook what I'd really LIKE to eat instead of what I feel I SHOULD eat. Tonight I'm getting a jar of Alfredo sauce and having angel hair alfredo w/ asparagus cut up in it (cooked in the same water as the pasta) and chunks of chicken breast. mmmmmmmmmmm I haven't had Alfredo literally in years.
I do not miss the sweets/added sugar at all. That's never been my issue though b/c I mostly only eat sweets when I'm on vacation or rarely at a restaurant. Getting over snacking and seconds is tough. HOWEVER as my food is more satisfying to my stomach and MOSTLy my brain, I can skip seconds a bit easier and hopefully THAT will become my norm.

Thanks SANDY – I have no idea what tests they give children. And no doubt Katy has learned beyond her peers with you as her teacher! STEPH – what a week! My gosh. ANGIE can’t say that I’ve driven that way before; sounds beautiful. I just got home and am trying to think of where to go for my birthday, lol. This weekend I’m driving up to Oklahoma City to see my niece. She actually lives in Charleston, NC (or is it Charlotte?) but is visiting her BF in OK. I told her in December to let me know when she makes it to OK and I’ll drive up to see her, and she did. She was stoked that I would drive up to visit. Besides, I have to check out the BF you know. I take the “aunt” job very seriously. CELESTE YAY on no eating after midnight. I totally get that satisfying food helps to skip seconds, but it does take practice for me. Enjoy the alfredo. Tonight’s dinner will be left over chicken/sausage pasta from last night. I did NOT like the artichokes in it (they were mushy!!), and hate olives, and picked out both. I’ll add some veggies on the side. So Lulu has been eating with less enthusiasm (or skipping meals) since she got home. I thought maybe her mouth was sore, or had a toothache or something…. I called ex to ask if she was ok when at his place, and if anything had happened that would affect her appetite. He said no, she was absolutely fine….oh… “maybe it’s because I was putting cheese in her food to make it better.” So the look I’m getting from her is “where is the cheese???” LOL No more sleeping in the bed, no cheese. And going to board this weekend…sheesh I am so mean.

NOW WHY are you boarding Lu this weekend? DAMN I wish we lived closer. I'd cook her chicken and rice but no cheese, except maybe some off my sandwich,LOL And she'd sleep with me and hang out and she'd refuse to come home unless there were SOME CHANGES MADE at Casa Suzanne!!! And you know if I come to your house, I will give you the same look. Where is MY CHEESE? When I make my late meal sandwich I've been putting several slices of REAL swiss cheese. GOSH real cheese is good! I feel like a kid in a candy store, yet I also cannot say i've been abusing the No S rules. I mean my plate is full, but not "bestial" and meals are well balanced. I think b/c I KNOW I CAN pretty much do what I want on weekends, I don't quite feel the NEED to go nuts. Right now I'm kind of hungry but I know that in an hour and a half I'll have a nice plate of chicken alfredo and asparagus so I can wait.
FUNNY... this is how I ate before I came to Texas. When i was normal weight. I just shopped, cooked and ate. Just like I got up, brushed my teeth and got dressed. I didn't obsess and think about points or calories. I rarely had seconds or dessert (except out) and snacking was VERY rare and usually b/c I missed a meal b/c I got too busy.
Crazy, but in hindsight I think I was probably No S 90% of the time and didn't know it.

In reading up I see I've been making a couple of mistakes (per the NoS plan). Eating when hungry instead of eating at meals time. I have to unlearn that because according to the NoS plan, it's like the "tail wagging the dog" and your body will learn to be hungry at meal times. Secondly, I need to tweak the one-plate thing, make it one plate balanced meal, sides ON the plate, and watch that my portions don't get out of control. Very doable. See CELESTE you were ahead of the curve.

Celeste I really appreciate getting the SSD but not being able to use Medicare while paying for it does suck.Plus the fact I had to pay $250 for my 2 injections today.United must not pay as well as Aetna did although when I was on Aetna I didn't get the Synvisc. It was a different brand. At least I didn't have to pay another specialist fee today. We ended up eating at a place called Rudy's BBQ for lunch and while the flavor of the brisket was great it was too fatty and greasy for me.I'm still tasting it.Coming back we got behind the funeral procession for the Round Rock police officer who was hit in a hit and run two months and just died this week.I have never seen the sheer number of police in the procession and people standing on the side of the road saluting the procession. It was wonderful. The officer was my age and he left behind a wife and 3 kids. They already had the driver in jail and now they can add extra charges.I didn't mind waiting for something like that at all.
I have been trying to at least get my 250 steps/hr in the house and I have gotten 3 hrs in but I'm relaxing with an ice pack on my right knee. The injections did hurt but the doctor kept saying a stick and a burn.It did burn.I'm glad I got my walk in this morning b/c I knew I wouldn't get anything done this afternoon.
I'm not ready for the No S plan yet but do y'all just eat until you are satisfied or just eat anything you want and no snacks?I'm not to the no snack part yet but I would have no problem with no seconds or added sugar.I feel like I'm gaining in my boobs and my waist which I don't know how I am gaining in my waist since the recumbent bike even works my hips.I can use the recumbent bike the next 48 hrs but he said not to use the tension so I'm thinking about 10 minutes at a time.He said grocery shopping was fine but if I walked don't walk too far from home for 48 hrs.
Suze How could you be such a mean mama? Scooter's b/d was yesterday so I bought her Frosty Paws which she ate but not with the enthusiasm I thought she would show.It was her favorite flavor PB after all. After she was through I got out her PB dental treat and that's what she really wanted. If I forget that darn dental treat she tells me.She will jump on my kitchen chair to get it.Have fun in OK.

SUZE I agree it takes some (re)training. But I also think it's what most naturally normal weight people do. At least the normal people I know. They do that "hunger is not fatal" thinking and don't need to be snacking to keep the hunger beast at bay. Hunger isn't really even a BAD thing let alone not a deadly thing. I have to retrain my thinking. On WW and other diets, I used to try to have a snack in my purse. Jerkey. Nuts. In case GOD FORBID I'd get hungry and there was no food w/in 1,000 miles like all those times I got stuck on the Gobi desert w/ no food. And the marauding Mongol nomads are after my snacks. It could happen you know. As i said, right now I'm legit hungry, but I'm pretty sure I won't faint before 6 or 6:30.
SUZE did you hear about that 17 year old kid that was arrested for plans to commit a terrorist attack at Stonebriar Mall? Little FREAK lives in the ritzier part of Plano.
OK so I missed that you were going to OK! Again... no memo, no application for travel, no nothing. I am chopped liver. LOL mmmmmm chopped liver. I could go for that!! Anyway there's a 4 out of 5 risk for a tornado in OK so you best cancel your plans and stay w/ Lulu.
BECKY I don't think in the end, United or Aetna are any better or worse than each other. One will pay for certain things and not for others. Vice versa. At the end of the day I do believe it all evens out. And I've been REALLY happy with how Aetna has been very easy to contact and for the most part their explanation of benefits has been clear (as OPPOSED TO MEDICARE itself). I've been less happy w/ United Health Care which I got thru AARP for my medications. But I figure if I switch, there will be other drugs that cost more and some that cost less. I've not looked into whether Aetna has a Part D plan. My medicare insurance agent (independent agency) doesn't handle Part D. Hence going to AARP. But Aetna is almost $60/month less than United Health for my Supplement and basically I've been 100% happy with it. No referrals needed. Prompt payment etc. FINGERS crossed that slowly but surely your knees will start feeling like "the knees of an 18 year old!" LOL
As far as No S I eat whatever I want ... REALLY WANT but ONLY at meal time. I don't even consider calories or fat. I try to eat balanced w/ veggies and protein and fat but I'm not going nuts over that. I don't eat until I'm stuffed but I DO eat until I'm "happy". Satisfied both physically AND mentally. My calories per meal are WAY UP I'm sure, even w/o having 2nds. But my calories for the day are way down b/c snacking and seconds were KILLING ME. Even seconds of 0 point meals can pack on the pounds. I eat my 1st meal at 12:30... but remember I didn't get up until almost 10. But I try to make my meals about 5 1/2 hours apart. So meal 2 is about 6PM and meal 3 is about 11:30 PM and bedtime is about 1AM. MOST people would be more like 7AM, 12:30ish and 5ish give or take half an hour. But then they're not going to sleep at 1AM!! But for me I'm having a more "normal" Meal 1 which is at most people's lunch time and my meal 2 is at most people's dinner so I can still go out to eat at normal times. I just will have a meal when MOST people are sleeping. But they're having their first meal while I am still sleeping. I tend to live my life on "Swing shift" as we called it at the hospital...or "Evenings" from 3 to 11:30PM. Go home, get into bed after midnite and up around 9. I did it most of my time working in hospitals and it worked for me so I'm letting it work for me now.
Happy b/day SCOOTER!!

Oh be still my heart. I had a double portion of roasted asparagus w/ parm sprinkled on top. I needed more F&V's. I had fettucine, mixed w/ a jar of Newman's Own alfredo sauce and added a bunch of shredded chicken that I made in the crock pot earlier to day. And I had a LOT of it but again not quite bestial. But it was completely satisfying and filling but I'm not stuffed. But oddly it was hard for me to add the parm. I kept thinking "well the asparagus is good w/o the extra calories" it's ingrained in me. So I asked myself "do you WANT parm?" Hell yeah I do ... so I had it. And I'm glad I waited and didn't succumb to my hunger not even to have a Halo. Which at another time could be a slab of cheese, or a cookie. I don't NEED to snack. (I keep telling myself). I am not insisting Bob do it. But I THINK he's going to b/c he was asking a lot of questions and seemed to agree w/ most of what I said. But even he said "So he said you could have a drink. Should I get the low calorie beer?" I said that it wasn't the POINT. Have a beer you like; regular or lite. A BEER not a 6 pack (not that I've ever seen him drink a 6 pack).

CELESTE ahhhh so Bobby is testing the water... yum yum yum on your dinner. How did you like Newman's alfredo sauce? I haven't tried out but have tried another brand (Ragu?) and was not impressed. I agree that NoS IS how regular/normal weight folks eat. I know that i have stopped thinking about food so much, and I like that.
And that little pissa$$ in Plano!! Thank goodness the plan was found out.
BECKY I keep forgetting to look for Frosty Paws treats. Lu loves pb.
She turned her nose up at dinner, until I sprinkled shredded cheese on it! I usually mix a little canned food in with her dry food at dinner time, and I have a feeling she doesn't like the new flavor I bought. And she spit out a green bean, and she normally loves them.
Got my stairs, steps and water in. And ✔✔✔ on NoS today. So this starts my chain. Even though my week started yesterday i was tired and didn't get my steps, etc. done.
Yeah, I heard about a tornado in NB and it reminded me that OK is a fav for tornadoes this time of year. Sorry abput the lack of notice...it just happens😋

Celeste I would just be happy if my body would feel and look like an 18 yo(okay maybe 21 yo).I know it will take some time for them to get better.I asked the doctor about walking for the next 48 hours and he said it would be okay...just don't go too far from home?? My body doesn't know how far is too far from home.Grocery shopping is fine and I can do the recumbent bike as long as I don't use any resistance on it.I will try for 10 min at a time.I think the No S could work for just about anyone but I'm not willing to give up my snacks until I start eating more for meals.I can tell when I don't b/c my legs feel shaky.
Suze Scooter loves PB too.I start her on Ritz crackers with a smear of PB on each one. Then she gets her PB dental treat.I find Frosty Paws at Walmart and HEB.I think it's cute because they are in with the human ice cream but I'm not eating it.They have an original one and a PB flavor.I'm not going to buy them every week like I did most of last summer or give her one every night. She isn't getting one tonight.I have to thaw them out b/c they are hard as a rock when I take them out of the freezer.I heard about that tornado too and I thought about you.

Good evening ladies. Just a quick wave for tonight. Summer has arrived. It was 92 and HOT today!! The a/c was not on a work and I had a large group -8 new hires for orientation and thought I was going to pass out it was so warm. I felt like my body temp had to be about 115!! My cast was so hot. The a/c was finally turned on about 3 pm. I left at 4:15 and it was 86 in my office. I hope it's okay tomorrow.
Okay, happy Thursday! 'nite...

Wow JT you did get some hot weather today! Unusually hot for up there I'm guessing. Hopefully the AC is working properly tomorrow. Renovation to our building's HVAC system is about complete...it will be just in time for Texas heat.
Today the dermatologist froze 3 skin tags on my next neck, two precancerous spots on my face and removed a "something keratosis" from each calf, one was fairly large. She also froze the wart on my middle toe (the same toe as before-smaller but still there). Sheesh. I'm taking a little IB and going to bed. 😏
weather is not looking good. Waving to everyone...sleep well

SUZE I found Newman's to be very BLAND. I had to add lots of Cholula hot sauce. I like spicy so normally I sautee some jalapenos and add them but I didn't have any. Next time I'll make a bigger batch and make it a pink sauce by adding some red sauce. MAN Petey wouldn't ever eat a green bean (or PB) unless maybe it was hidden in a steak or maybe cheese. Of course he was always way picky. I too have some "barnacles" i need to have removed but first I need to find a dermatolgist... and one who will accept good ol' MEDICARE. UGH. Oh and it was a seborrheic keratosis. I was there you just didn't see me.
HECK BECKY! I'd be THRILLED if my body was like it was from about 40 to 52. Best shape ever. PETEY liked frosty Paws but he liked to go to the ice cream drive thru and get a doggy dish of vanilla (they put a small milkbone in it. But he would NEVER just take a bite. He licked it so delicately. I had to hold the dish the entire time. Funny guy. I'm missing him a lot lately, probably b/c we just finished the 1 year mark of his death.
SERIOUSLY JT? 92? You beat us here in TEXAS! DFW was a heat index of 91! And UGH on 86 in your office. I'd have fallen asleep or passed out!
SANDY I saw that the Abilene area was under severe storm warnings. it's supposed to move our way but not even sure when. But it SURE is windy out there. Batten down your hatches and stay safe!!
No snacking: CHECK No added sugar: CHECK 7500 steps: CHECK
Meal 3 is ready and then I'm hitting the bed. Small salad, 2 halos and the last cheddar brat. mmmmmm

I ended up sleeping till 6pm today. Had to leave for work at 7:30. Wouldn't have gotten up at all except that DH called. He didn't come straight home from work because he stopped at the rental to mow. It reached 90 here today, too. Calling for 88 tomorrow and 80 with rains moving in Friday-Sunday.
Today was WI day and I was down 2 pounds from last Wednesday. Sounds great until you realize I have been gaining and losing the SAME 5 pounds since January. 🙄
I have so so many things I need to do next week. I need to make an appointment with the financial planner. I need to find a masseuse and get a massage. (The gal who did such a good job last week will be in Myrtle Beach next week.) Need to see if I can get estimates for siding at the rental. Need to go to dinner somewhere Monday night to celebrate DH turning 65. Need to get my mom a Mother's Day gift. Saturday is the East End Yardsale. Need to gather/price stuff for that. Thursday evening is our hospital employee appreciation dinner for people who have been there some multiple of 5 years. Looks like there won't be any time to quilt.....
