Welcome to our 2018 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

THE AMAZING AF MAY CHALLENGE May 1-31
What are your goals? What are you doing to obtain results? Are you getting the support you need? Are you doing what you need to be doing?
Our current challenge is to have an Amazing AF May. What makes an Amazing May? The answers are varied….losing weight, being AF, feeling stronger, knowing you are doing your best are but a few answers. During our Amazing AF May challenge take as many steps as you can to be the Amazing You! Plan ahead. Post your stats daily, it is an essential component to success. Post your goal and the steps needed to reach it. One misstep does not mean throw away the day, the night, the week. We are works in progress.
How are you going to keep your head in the game? How are you reaching the decision each and every day to choose not to drink?
Refocus on why you are a member of this board. What do you hope to achieve? Are you looking to be AF or AIM? Have you done some soul searching?
Are you doing daily battle in your head about drinking? Is drinking helping you become the amazing person you are? How does drinking help support your goals? If you slip, post to the board and find understanding. If you slip and report being AF, you are not hurting us, you are hurting yourself. Slips happen, pick yourself up and start again. There is no judgement, we are very supportive of each other.
Plan, plan, plan! Take it one day/meal/snack at a time and plan meals/menu for the next day. Do not plan A into your menu. However, if you have A, track it. As with all our challenges, everyone is welcomed. For some, making the commitment for May is the way to go. For others, one day at a time is the way to go. No one will be cut from the challenge. Feel free to post to the board even if you choose not to commit to the challenge. If you are looking to control the A in your life, this board may be for you.
Track your food, drink your water, move a little more than you currently do.
YOU ARE AMAZING ! BELIEVE IT AND LET"S HAVE AN AMAZING AF MAY!

Good morning all! Well they have shuffled the social workers again. I'm still at my large clinic but now I'm covering another small clinic in town. Actually, I was covering this small clinic almost 10 years ago when I started with the company. Several of the same staff are still here and I get along well with the clinic manager so it's a good assignment. I got started on my EOM reports yesterday but will have to finish those up tomorrow and Friday.
Amy - I hate that it didn't work out for me to go to the reunion. I could have sent in my reservation earlier but I didn't want to go by myself. Our class had a 10, 20 and 30 year reunion. I went to the 20 year reunion. Apparently there was some contention at the 30 year reunion and a lot of people got their noses out of joint so they didn't have a 40 year reunion. Apparently some people never outgrew high school drama! LOL
Liz - I am so sorry to hear about the accident! Sounds like you had a mild whiplash with that headache. Or at least that's what I've heard is a symptom of a whiplash. Hope you are feeling better today.
Jan - are you in Oregon yet?
Carole - waving hi!
The biggest challenge I'm going to have is learning new patients names! I'm getting old enough that my short term memory stinks! LOL Hope everyone has a great day! Murphy

Going to take it day by day. Easy things are take my vitamin, drink water and plan meals. Today will be knitting, doing a few errands and chores, packing up what to take to Oregon...I leave early tomorrow AM. I know I'm getting TOO obsessive when I contemplated taking my scale with me...ha ha, will just go, trust the choices and WI on Saturday...see what happens. I do want to go to this weeks meeting as it is about Plateaus. Best news was DS called last night to ask if we'd be home next weekend!!! He's going to bring some things home, some to store at the GF house and some for us to take, so he doesn't have so much when they move at the end of the month!!! Yay..haha except we already took away his bed...oops. It will work out. Looking forward to a beautiful, productive day. Happy Hump Day all. Jan Murphy Glad you feel comfortable at the other clinic, change can be stressful. Crazy about the reunion people :0 AMy Yay for vacation!! What day will you leave? So glad you get to see the boys too....will DD go with you? Get those reports done so you don't have to take work with you...haha Liz...Did you have to go back to work today? I tried to post this morning and it didn't go through! I was down .4 this morning. I'll take it!! I did lime dance for 30 minutes yesterday and left early. I worked another meeting last night and by the time I got home, I was in so much pain! Thankfully Tylenol and helped. I was able to sleep and just have some twinges today.
Amy: So glad you will get to see both your mom AND the boys!
Murphy: I really work hard to remember member's names. Once I connect a wrong name to them, it's so hard to change!
Liz: Wow, how scary for you!! Hope you are feeling better.
Jan: Lots of good stuff with the meetings! Lol over ds not having a bed!
