Welcome to our 2018 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

THE AMAZING AF MAY CHALLENGE May 1-31
What are your goals? What are you doing to obtain results? Are you getting the support you need? Are you doing what you need to be doing?
Our current challenge is to have an Amazing AF May. What makes an Amazing May? The answers are varied….losing weight, being AF, feeling stronger, knowing you are doing your best are but a few answers. During our Amazing AF May challenge take as many steps as you can to be the Amazing You! Plan ahead. Post your stats daily, it is an essential component to success. Post your goal and the steps needed to reach it. One misstep does not mean throw away the day, the night, the week. We are works in progress.
How are you going to keep your head in the game? How are you reaching the decision each and every day to choose not to drink?
Refocus on why you are a member of this board. What do you hope to achieve? Are you looking to be AF or AIM? Have you done some soul searching?
Are you doing daily battle in your head about drinking? Is drinking helping you become the amazing person you are? How does drinking help support your goals? If you slip, post to the board and find understanding. If you slip and report being AF, you are not hurting us, you are hurting yourself. Slips happen, pick yourself up and start again. There is no judgement, we are very supportive of each other.
Plan, plan, plan! Take it one day/meal/snack at a time and plan meals/menu for the next day. Do not plan A into your menu. However, if you have A, track it. As with all our challenges, everyone is welcomed. For some, making the commitment for May is the way to go. For others, one day at a time is the way to go. No one will be cut from the challenge. Feel free to post to the board even if you choose not to commit to the challenge. If you are looking to control the A in your life, this board may be for you.
Track your food, drink your water, move a little more than you currently do.
YOU ARE AMAZING ! BELIEVE IT AND LET"S HAVE AN AMAZING AF MAY!

Good morning all! Yesterday was just wonderful! This was the first time I've been to one of my great niece's dance recitals. She's been doing dance for over 10 years I think but has decided that she is going to give it up and switch to volleyball and tennis so yesterday was her last dance. She is the funniest young lady and NOT sentimental at all but after the recital, she was a puddle of tears and could not stop crying. She's just made so many good friends there. We all went out to eat after the recital. I'm hoping for a very quiet but quick day at work! I'm tired this morning.
Amy - have a safe trip to Texas and enjoy your time with the boys!
Jan - enjoy each and every moment with your boy at home! He hasn't been to the new house right? How long before he gets to come there?
GG, Carole, Liz, Cindy - I hope that each of you had a wonderful Mother's Day and were totally pampered by your families!
Everyone have a great day! Murphy

Hello friends! What a whirlwind weekend! Friday my df had a get together so I picked up my other df and we went for a couple of hours. I was AF! My df is having awful issues with her kids. They are the same age as mine, 21 and 18. Her eldest son is VERY smart but got into using and selling drugs. His grades weren't too good so he withdrew from university of Illinois, ugh. He had a $10,000 scholarship that he will not get if he enrolls again. Her daughter decided to go to a $35,000 school, which she only got in because she's Hispanic girl. She is also smoking Marijuana but not sure if my df knows. She also just lost her mom. Anyway, Tyler wasn't supposed to play baseball saturday but at 10 the coach said they have a game at noon. The great part is Tyler got 2 hits! I then went to the craft store! I'm making the seniors a poster board with their name and picture so I started that. There are 14 seniors, I was in way over my head but dh reluctantly helped and so did ty, we finished last night. I'll put a picture on the fb site....they look simple but took forever....needed to finish for today but now it may be a rain out! I did a lot of gardening yesrerday, it was a gorgeous day. We went to a restaurant for mothers day with mil and dbil and dsil. We had a nice time. I didn't have a mimosa but had a salted caramel and ice cream skillet! Yummy! I'm sorry I have to get ready for work. Amy, safe travels. Happy mothers day whether you have human or fur kids! Love you all

Morning friends, had a nice day here yesterday too. Up and getting ready to do all the "chores" of getting DS back on the road. I'm taking him to DMV for new license, DH will take car to shop, still have to order replacement window and make something to cover his a bit to drive back to Monterey. At least it's sunny and we all got to be together. I'll check in later. Jan
