Well, the concert was interesting. It was very short, 1hr 5 min. Her back up group did a tribute to Prince. She did not sing her first hit and my all time favorite "I Heard it Through the Grapevine", very disappointing. She ended on Last Train to Georgia with no encore. Their were 4 women and several others who recorded endlessly with their phones. The lady in the row in front of me was texting with a very bright screen and the man 2 people over, told her to turn it off!
Dinner out again tonight, the scale is jumping up! I decide to add 3SP a day for maintainence this past week and I've gained 2 lbs have not used many weeklies. I think I walk a very fine line and will give it another week. Sigh!

Oh no lmenglish, that sounds like a dud all around :/ Definitely give it another week, but keep a close eye. With eating out a lot it is so hard to get a good idea of what is really going on with portion sizes, ingredients, etc.

Good morning all.
There were cloudfs out there but they seem to be dissipating now. Sun was supposed to shine by 10-11 AM but here it is 8:57nand it is shining now...but a chilly (for us) 51°.
lmenglish, bummer about the maintenance ponts. 3 SP equals about 99 calories depending on the sat fat, sugar and protein. That's not a lot!
susiq25679, you reminded me of one of the nicest benefits of driving an electric transitional hybrid. The gas engine is about equivalent to a lawnmower, seldom gets used to generate electricity to feed the batteries, and requires service approximately every 12 months--sometimes more, sometimes less, depending on how often the gas is used. And when I have to have it serviced, I get a loaner for at least 24 hours which is so convenient in terms of not having to wait.
I have a follow-up appointment with my Endocrinologist and will have to give back the continuous glucose monitor today. It has been an interesting test. I checked on the cost of buying one outside Medicare and it comes to $4.7K a year. I'm considering it, but right now since Medicare is in the process of determine which types of patients they will cover for the device (expected to decide by April), the company will.not.sell to any Medicare patients.
Other than the doctor visit I have nothing on the agenda today. Planning to make a meatloaf for dinner, and I think I'll mix it up and refrigerate it this morning so I'm not tempted to skip the labor this afternoon. I finally finished eating the Skinnytaste Fast & Slow Ground Beef Stroganoff last night; it was great but I've had enough to satisfy that craving for a while!
Poking around last night I discovered that the Mary Tyler Moore show is a part of daily programming on the SundanceTV channel which is a part of my lineup; and I didn't even have the channel turned on in my TiVo lineup. There are many other great classic shows on the channel, too: Andy Griffith Show, Bob Newhart Show, M*A*S*H, ETC.
Wishing you all a great day!

zazzles Thank you for the information about the Sundance Channel. I just programmed my DVR to record MTM shows on Friday mornings. 5 shows tomorrow and 6 next Friday. I'm also adding Mash, another fav from the 70s. Oh! and I love Bob Newhart. Ok, I'll be filling my DVR up now!

I knew someone had expressed that they couldn't get ME.TV so I hoped this would be helpful. ME.TV, aka station KOFY 20 from San Francisco, has always been local for us here; I've set the marathon to record on Sunday.
It struck me this morning that probably the greatest honor anyone can pay to a TV star is to seek out and watch the programs they starred in! I think Mary would be pleased.

Must not survive by eating fridge. It isn't eating the appliance that does the damage—it's the contents!

The meeting went well. They gave us some idea of what we'll need at home. They are happy with his progress and would just like to build up his strength. Fingers crossed and positive vibes welcome.

Thanks for the heads up on the channel zazzles , appreciate it! Hope the doc visit went well, it would be lovely if Medicare decided to cover it, honestly, with all the savings from being able to keep to the minute BS stats (and being able to take quick action when needed) it just seems like a no brainer, but then I consider it is an insurance company and logic goes right out the window pamthomas46 of course, more prayers and healing vibes on the way! I am sure you can't wait to have him home 😊

DebDoesWW , thanks. The doc visit went fine. He was satisfied with the data he saw and made a modificaton to my dosing plan for long-acting insulin. He is fine with prescribing the CGM if I want to pay for it out of pocket and I’m going to check distributors to see prices and availability. I’d rather have it now and pay for it than have it later and wait for Medicare to make up their mind; I think it very unlikely that Medicare will cover it for Type 2 diabetics except under the same extreme circumstances they cover insulin pumps—you have to be able to present data from meter readings that you repeatedly go hypoglycemic and have no awareness of being there…which would mean multiple visits to the E.R. for medical intervention to deal with the hypo.
I’m not focusing on that but rather the fact that the manufacturer will NOT sell this device to Medicare patients until Medicare decides who is eligible and all the details—probably financial is what has them holding off on selling them to private-pay patients now.
Since I can’t have mh CGM !!!TODAY!!!, I invested in a replacement Advantium oven because mine is on its last legs, and also a new cooktop that is induction to replace the one I’ve had for 18 years and always hated. So THERE! The appliances should arrive and be ready for the installer to pick up and install next week.

Lol zazzles! Men and their toys!!! Seriously though I hope you can find it through a distributor for a reasonable amount. I hate the games they play with the pricing on medical equipment. Good luck and yay on your new oven and cooktop 😊
