Anyone is welcome to join the SMART weight loss goals.
Specific Measurable Actionable Realistic Time limited
You can pick as many or as few goals as you like. They can be daily, weekly or monthly. It's up to each individual. Keep us posted on how you're doing w/ the goals and how/if it's showing up on the scale!
AND if you aren't into goals... now or ever... no big deal. Friendship, accountability and support... they don't HAVE to have goals.
Lastly if you have goals that aren't related to weight loss, that works too. Like "making me time"

Found out friend has cancer, sacrum, 2 lumbar vertabrae, possible lower lung, lymph. L2 and L3 don't look "right" either. He has has been having severe back pain since March but Medicare doesn't kick in until August, self employed no insurance. Has had been going to chiro for pain and self medicating waiting for August to roll around. I talked him into paying for an MRI on his own, that was yesterday. Trying to process the news.

Oh gosh, SUZE! How awful. It's awful that healthcare is so expensive that we put off going to a doctor because of the cost. Especially when diagnosing things early can make such a big difference. Prayers for your friend, and for you. Very tough to process for sure.
Since I'm working tonight and will be up anyway, we may pull up the wedding livestream on my iPad and have it going in the background.

Suze....so very sorry to hear about your friend. Hugs and prayers at this difficult time.
Becky...good for you getting some bike time in already. Stay cool & hydrated!
Sandy....I didn’t get up as early as you planned...but I did catch part of THE WEDDING. Just beautiful....and they look so happy. Wishing them all the best!
Waves to everyone ~~
We are headed to a great nephew’s graduation celebration. It is about 2.5 hrs from here...so will be a loooong day. Will be fun to see family....a nephew from Chicago & family will be there & we don’t see them often. DHs dad is not going to be there. He is still trying to get some strength back since the pneumonia. I know he hated to miss it but it would have been exhausting for him.
Better get myself ready here....have a good day!

Dang chiro even attempting to treat a pt w/ cancer. Oh... he didn't know it was cancer you say! How long did it take the chiro to tell your friend "you NEED to get to a REAL DOCTOR. I can't treat this and I'm very concerned"? DO NOT GET ME STARTED. I'm so sorry he has to go through this and the fact that it's spread so much? Not a very sunny prognosis. UGH.
BRRRR BECKY mid 80's tomorrow? Break out the parkas.
ANGIE enjoy graduation and drive safely.
Meridith called me this morning in a panic. Her DH was dx w/ Salmonella a few days ago, (he's been sick since Monday) and basically they told him to go home, bland diet, hand wash, hydrate. So that's what he did but he's also had a fever since day 1 which continued unabated. He is 'going' approx 40 times a day! Meridith also has GI issues so pretty sure she has it to. She didn't tell me she actually had it for about 12 hours BEFORE he had it. AND she's pregnant. But she has no fever. She did provide a specimen but no one's gotten back to her about it (TEXAS MEDICAL CARE...ACKCCKKKKKKKK) Both she and Chris have been trying to get hold of their respective doctors all yesterday but no one called back.
So anyway, I woke up and there was an email from Mer (who KNOWS I'm not a morning person) "Please call me when you wake up." I was just grabbing the phone to call her when she called me, and I immediately said before she could say anything "Take Christopher to the ER!" Wellll turns out that at 5AM he came in w/ chest pain and she took him to the ER, and his cardiac enzymes are showing heart damage and they think the sac around his heart is damaged/inflammed. (pericarditis). THey've called in a cardiologist and are talking angiogram. And she still has diarrhea w/ NO dx! PEOPLE do NOT GET SICK IN TEXAS!! I'm glad he's in the hospital but wish it were in HAITI or SOMALIA or somewhere where the care is better than it is in TX. The only good thing is, at least he didn't see a chiro. Do you know that chiros believe they can treat diarrhea with spinal manipulations? TRUE STORY. What could be worse than Texas medical care? What could be worse than chiropractic care? CHIROPRACTORS IN TEXAS!!
I have Bingo in about 3 hours. I was going out to dinner but I want to be home in case Meridith calls. We're supposed to go down there on Friday for a long weekend but probably not, unless Meridith wants moral support.

Good evening everyone!
Sorry to hear about your friend, Suze!
Celeste, hope Merideth and her DH are okay!
Went to WI this morning and I was down 0.6 to 187.6! After 6 weeks of maintenance, I am officially listed as a WW LIFETIME member and will be FREE as long as I am not more than 2 pounds over my goal weight of 190!

CELESTE- Poor Meredith! She must be out of her mind with worry! And I can't imagine her OB/GYN not being on top of her diarrhea issues since her DH has been diagnosed with salmonella. Hope he lucks out with a good cardiologist.

Celeste I agree with you about the chiro not telling Suze's friend to go to a regular doctor.I will not go to a chiro anymore after one hurt me more than helped.I have gone to good TX doctors & I have gone to bad ones but I think it's all in where they went to school. My first orthopedist was pathetic but I really liked the 2nd one that I went to in RR.He really knew his stuff.I think if they go to Medical school in TX they are probably not as good as if he would have gone to school in another state but I have gone to some good family doctors.
My niece would have never found out she had kidney cancer if it weren't for all her back surgeries but I don't think she ever went to a chiro before going to a regular Dr.
I hope Meredith and her DH will feel better soon.I can't imagine being pregnant and having diarrhea at the same time.I hope her DH is in a good hospital and can find a good cardiologist.I believe they live in southeast Austin?I know it was an emergency but I hear the Heart Hospital in north Austin is good also.

MARY you look.....MAHHHHHVELOUS!!! Look at that slim face!!
Meridith was in the hospital w/ Chris when his doc came in and I told her to tell HIM what was going on w/ her and he said GET TESTED RIGHT AWAY. She said she took the specimen in on Thursday and no one will respond to her calls. You can only imagine how ANGRY this makes me. I don't even know if they'd be throwing abx down her gullet being 8 mo pregnant but for heaven's sake PAY ATTENTION TO HER CONCERNS.
BECKY, I've discussed the medical care here w/ some of my doctor friends from California and all said that Texas has THE WORST medical care and Medical schools in general ... there are a VERY few exceptions such as MD Anderson Cancer hospital (yet some of the best dental care and dental schools... weird huh?) Meridith said he's just been in bed w/ IV's but they haven't done anything but hydrate him. No heart tests, though the cardiologist did come in and say "Yes I think it's pericarditis" and basically walked away. I kind of wish I were there as I'd be "what does that mean? what is the plan? What is the prognosis? WHEN WHEN WHEN?" They're in SouthWest Austin . Gorgeous area but I don't know what hospital he's in. Good question. I'm going to call her later to see how she's holding up. I told her if she felt as if she were going to have a nervous breakdown to let me know and I'd drive down for moral support. But nothing else I could do and um... I don't want SALMONELLA.

OMG CELESTE what the heck??!! I cannot believe that Meridith has not had a call back, and Chris...what is the update? My gosh. Prayers and all the best for their situation. I am praying Mer doesn't have Salmonella.
CONGRATULATIONS MARY!!you look great😁
I am still in shock about my friend. I went with him to tell his brother and SIL, who are my former neighbors and i love to pieces. Beginning Monday, his brother will help to get equipment, etc. to sale. My friend was already in a downsizing/retirement mode but now he is in a hurry to liquidate 45+ years of farming equipment, trucks, cattle...sooo much. He feels he will need the money and wants things to be easier for his kids - there were noticeable differences in xrays from March to May, and he understands the seriousness of his situation.
I ran into Robbie's niece Karla yesterday at the Fish Place, and we had a long talk. It was very good for both of us.

Celeste I agree TX does not have good medical schools but I have been to some very good doctors who have studied in other states and now live here.I don't understand why Meredith's Dr won't get back with her.Saying prayers for both of them.Have you heard any more from Mer?
Mary I can really tell in your face how much you have lost.WTG!
