Good evening all.
MARY, YOU LOOK AWESOME!!! CONGRATS!
Celeste, prayers for both Meredith and Chris. Hopefully Chris will now start feeling better and Meredith doesn't have it. Prayers for them.
Suze, so sorry to hear of your friend. Hopefully he can get the care he needs. Prayers for him.
Angie, I'm sure you are ready to be home for a while. You've been on the go for several weeks now. Enjoy your down/home time.

SANDY thanks for the good thoughts. KM looks so TROPICAL! We need to take her on a cruise!!! haha *sad face on the 2 kittens that didn't survive* SUZE I don't know whether no news is news or she fell thru the cracks or what. She said that on Monday she's driving to her PCP on her way to work and is going to sit there until he sees her! GOOD FOR HER. She's ballsy like her ma. The cardiologist said he can't treat Chris until he gets the result of this special "INTENSE EKG" (Meridith's words) and they probably won't "get around to it" until tomorrow. Chris' cardiac enzymes already show cardiac muscle damage, so I'd say that maybe they should STEP ON IT!! TEXAS MEDICINE.... YA KILLIN' ME SMALLS!! (My homage to Sandlot). ANGIE they don't know if it was a salad bar at Whole Foods or a Filipino restaurant they ate at about 36 hours after the first symptom. I think the recent lettuce thing was e. coli but raw veggies can carry both e. coli and salmonella if irrigated w/ contaminated water or contaminated manure fertilizer. Or cross contamination. But the salad bar and the Filipino restaurant are their best guesses. Funny this girl travels all over the world. They literally eat tacos off street carts in Mexico City and Cartagena. And they're fine. BECKY I told Mer "I wish your doctors were from India!" LOL We had a lovely dinner. Kind of a last minute thing since we were going to go out. Left over kale, some REALLY good corn on the cob, cheddar brats and a salad. I'm comfortably full. I know I CAN have sugar or snacks today but not really wanting to. THis is how I used to eat and I hope this is retraining my body not to eat those S's routinely (esp snacks and 2nd).

SUZE maybe you said but refresh me. How old is this poor guy? So he was going to the chiro for pain management? Did he (and chiro) know that he had cancer? I'm confused on the timeline. Sad sad situation that any chance he had of a longer term prognosis seems to have been thrown out b/c he didn't have access to medical care.

CELESTE he is 64. He had initial twinges around December, thought it was either kidneys or back. By Feb knew it was his back (he has had a couple accidents since I've known him being kicked/pinned by a cow). March he was considerably worse, pain/numbness in hip/leg, pain when standing, started taking pain meds, went to chiro to see if it would help him get some relief until medicare kicked in. After 3-4 visits, he knew it was not helping and had gotten worse, quit the chiro. By then he's thinking herniated disc and surgery in August (after Medicare kicks in), and decided to pay MRI on his own and at least schedule consult with back specialist and be ready to go in August. He asked Chiro to order MRI, and it revealed cancer.
He is going to schedule an appt with oncologist at some point, but he will not do surgery or radiation and will work to get things in order. He will pursue Cannibus oil treatment, going to MX if needed.

Good morning.
Church, grocery store, Target for a swim suit for Autumn and then home laundry and paperwork for school.
Yesterday, had a haircut, bank & Wal-Mart. Dinner out.
Celeste, any more news on your kidos? Which Whole Foods location? My new teacher's husband works at the main one downtown. He's in the office in accounting (I think). This is scary. Praying for both.
Suz, that's awful about your friend. Yes, our medical system needs an overhaul.
Mary, congrats on all your success. You truly are an inspiration.
Waves to all. Need to get moving and start the day.

UGH SUZE what a nightmare scenario on so many levels INCLUDING that he's only 64. SANDY I think men are often ones to put off medical care as if it's not manly to seek help. Someone was saying that Christopher shouldn't have gone a week w/ this illness but in his case he was in the doc's office w/in 48 hours. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I think I would have enjoyed seeing Dale doing the Beauty and the Beast Tea Party. STEPH, they go to one nearer their home (which is in Travis Country). They think it's that or the Filipino restaurant but will probably never be sure. But since they started symptoms 12 hours apart, but both within the normal incubation period, they realized it wasn't their initial guess of eggs benedict that Chris had last Saturday (she didn't eat with him). Also it's tough, since this would have been what they ate on Thurs/Fri/Sat the previous weekend. I can't tell you what/where I ate then. Anyway good to "see" you again, kind of coming up for air! LOL I had no idea it was going to rain as much as it is. I should have known b/c my lower back has been just itching to go out on me since Friday. I've really babied it and done lots of stretches. We'd had a pretty dry May so far and it's usually one of our rainier months. SANDY I hope you get a good soaking. Not that one good soaking is going to "cure" your drought. Bob's mom is in a rehab (for both drugs an to get PT so she'll be able to walk to the living room or bathroom w/o help). Useless waste of time and money AND it pisses her off. So he has to go see her. Which isn't a fun thing on a good day let alone when she's mad b/c she's not at home. Well at least she won't be under the influence of pills.

Suze....I wonder if your friend could qualify for SSI or Medicaid...or is he still working? The first step is probably a visit to find out what his treatment options are, then determine a plan & go from there. Glad you were able to talk things over with Robbie’s niece....that has to be some pressure off of you.
Celeste...any update on the kiddos? Good luck to Bob...doesn’t sound pleasant.
Steph....the end is in sight!!!! Hang in there!!! When is graduation?
Sandy....love seeing the retired grandpas playing with the kids & being silly. It is good for everyone! The Monday after Rick retired, DS & family were still here. I came downstairs to find him playing a game of Pretty Pretty Princess with Cara....complete with a tiara, bead necklace, & one dangling earring 😁. Made a great pic of the two of them!
Got a text from Rick’s brother....he took their dad to the ER around noon I think. Poor guy is just so weak & his 02 level is low....just has not bounced back from pneumonia. My opinion....needs to go to the nursing home at least for a bit to be monitored, cared for, & see if he can get back on his feet. Prayers appreciated.

Oh gosh ANGIE so sorry to hear about Rick's dad. It's so hard for them when pneumonia hits and weakens them so much. Prayers for him for sure. My friend has everything set to start collecting his SS (he has paid in diligently), and Medicare is so close. As a life long farmer/rancher his assets are tied up in machinery, land and cattle in his case. He has prepared for retirement, planned to start selling off things and downsize, but is now accelerating that plan. I don't know what else he is qualified for but may need to look at more options.
Ok so my eating yesterday was off the charts.... every comfort food i could find. And this is when the gym helps me destress so my gym bag is in the car. Doing much better today food wise.
CELESTE no rain here yet and U.G.H. on Bob's mom. Best wishes for the kids! How worrisome for you.
STEPH glad you have a chance to breathe (and probably sleep!).
Enjoy the day all ~☆~

OH GOSH ANGIE on Rick's dad. I do think it sounds as if he could use a little help as far as PT etc getting back to better shape. I notice how much harder and harder it is to bounce back at my age, so it's got to be so much worse at his age! Good luck w/ him. And poor Meridith! Talk about never rains but it pours. LITERALLY. It poured there, their French drain backed up and she doesn't know what to do. I suggested she throw it out there on Nextdoor and someone would come to her rescue. But she took it literally and WENT next door and the guy there is taking care of it for her. No news about Chris except he spent a better night b/c he was well hydrated and had some pain meds. As of a few hours ago they STILL hadn't done this particular test so can't start treatment. UGH. SUZE at this point I hope your friend has some way to keep his pain managed. The way it appears to have spread, I'm thinking that's going to be key for his remaining days and not going to be an easy fix. Who does he have in the way of family? As far as helping out I mean. Esp family in the area? Another one of my worst allergy days. You'd think w/ the rain the air would be clear but I'm actually getting tired of coughing. If it persists I'll have to break out my nebulizer and do some treatments. So far I've taken everything I have to take and no let up. I even took an extra shower and changed clothes in case my hair or skin or outfit had pollen in it. I know I'm irritating Bob (were the coughing coming from him I'd be putting a pillow over his face). He's good at ignoring me in general but you can only ignore someone who sounds tubercular for SO LONG. cough hack cough But the temp is GORGEOUS. In the 70's. We had so few days in the 70's. It went from 50's to high 80's and on up so this is very comfortable. And we needed the rain. I did get in my 8,500 steps 5 times this week so I have today off. I may take a short walk anyway b/c the temp is so lovely. Bob was supposed to leave 20 min ago to see his mom. I've reminded him. He's still sitting here. I don't blame him.

Steph I hope school is over soon. You don't get any rest during the week or the weekend.
Celeste Any update on the kids yet?We just got a drizzle before church.By time church & the luncheon was over and we got home it started thundering & raining. We got a little over 1".We needed it so badly.I wonder if they are waiting to do a chemically(I think that's what it's called)induced stress test since he is in bed.Hospitals just don't seem to do anything on weekends.I hope they do something tomorrow.Poor Meredith.Going next door was definitely faster than nextdoor.com. At least ours doesn't always respond right away.Good for you getting in your 8500 steps this week.I have met my step goal every day but today but I am hoping to at least get to my 9000 step goal.If I were Bob I would still be sitting there too.
Angie I'm sorry about Rick's dad.Prayers going up & sending positive & healthy vibes for him.
Suze That is so sad about your friend having to downsize before he is ready to.Lifelong farmers do have a hard enough time making it and now this on top of it is really sad.
It's still cloudy here and the porch is wet so Scooter won't go out yet.We still haven't been able to replace the roof on the porch so it always gets wet when it rains. The cats are trying to stay hidden so she doesn't run after them. It's a zoo around here sometimes.

Tonight is my last night of work and it is a good thing. I'm tired and my patience is worn thin. Drama from coworkers and laziness have worn me down this week. Need to go pack my lunch.

Hi all. Hope everyone is well. Prayers for Meredith and Chris, Rick's dad, Suze's friend, Bob and his mother and Connie - good luck with the employee drama.
Met a friend for lunch today. It was nice catching up with her. She used to work for me as a scheduler and we have kept up our friendship over the years. We still have so many people without power and trying to clean up from the storm. There are 3 towns still not able to open schools. The kids will never get out this year. We are so fortunate that we had minimal damage. It could have been so much worse.
Happy Monday to all. Night.

BECKY I think they were only waiting for an echocardiogram and some lab tests. The echo and labs were one but last I hear they didn't know the results yet. If it's whatever they suspect is most likely they'll do some IV anti-inflammatories, observe, and he may be home by tomorrow though his GI symptoms are totally unimproved. I don't blame Scooter for wanting to go outside. And you don't want "wet dog smell" in the house either.
CONNIE sounds like your days off are coming just in time.
JT between your ice this winter and now this storm I didn't even THINK about how much school the kids missed! OH boy. Nice that you connected w/ your friend. Love that G/F time.
I had some left over burgers and no desire to cook so I did some angel hair pasta, heated a jar of Rao's spaghetti sauce (they have good sauce when I don't feel like making my own), and chopped up the cooked burgers into the sauce. VOILA spaghetti w/ meat sauce in 15 minutes. I've been REALLY lacking on my F&V's lately. I need to work on that.
I am also tired b/c STUPID ME read until 2:30 in the AM and then I slept poorly (coughing and nose blowing all night) so I got very little sleep. I won't be that stupid tonight.
