Welcome to our 2018 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

THE AMAZING AF MAY CHALLENGE May 1-31
What are your goals? What are you doing to obtain results? Are you getting the support you need? Are you doing what you need to be doing?
Our current challenge is to have an Amazing AF May. What makes an Amazing May? The answers are varied….losing weight, being AF, feeling stronger, knowing you are doing your best are but a few answers. During our Amazing AF May challenge take as many steps as you can to be the Amazing You! Plan ahead. Post your stats daily, it is an essential component to success. Post your goal and the steps needed to reach it. One misstep does not mean throw away the day, the night, the week. We are works in progress.
How are you going to keep your head in the game? How are you reaching the decision each and every day to choose not to drink?
Refocus on why you are a member of this board. What do you hope to achieve? Are you looking to be AF or AIM? Have you done some soul searching?
Are you doing daily battle in your head about drinking? Is drinking helping you become the amazing person you are? How does drinking help support your goals? If you slip, post to the board and find understanding. If you slip and report being AF, you are not hurting us, you are hurting yourself. Slips happen, pick yourself up and start again. There is no judgement, we are very supportive of each other.
Plan, plan, plan! Take it one day/meal/snack at a time and plan meals/menu for the next day. Do not plan A into your menu. However, if you have A, track it. As with all our challenges, everyone is welcomed. For some, making the commitment for May is the way to go. For others, one day at a time is the way to go. No one will be cut from the challenge. Feel free to post to the board even if you choose not to commit to the challenge. If you are looking to control the A in your life, this board may be for you.
Track your food, drink your water, move a little more than you currently do.
YOU ARE AMAZING ! BELIEVE IT AND LET"S HAVE AN AMAZING AF MAY!

First day back to work wasn't too bad. I finished unpacking last night, other than tumbling the clean clothes in my suitcase to get the wrinkles out.
Back to tracking. I didn't get a blue dot, but it was close. Baby steps.

Good morning all! Didn't want to crawl out of bed this morning. I was up late last night talking to my cousin in Myrtle Beach! She sounds so fabulous and I'm still stunned at her recovery. She still has a little trouble finding words some times but I would estimate that her speech is 90% recovered. She says she still has a little weakness in her right hand but is coping with that and thought it might be a little better yesterday. Still hasn't felt safe to try driving yet. Her daughter is still with her and my cousin raved about what great care she was providing! Remember I was so worried about that issue and I'm very happy to have been proved wrong! She really wants me to come over for a visit so I'm going to look at time off and $$ to see if I can swing a short trip. Anyway - it was definitely worth giving up a little sleep to talk with her!
Amy - glad you made the transition back into work. And yes I am eternally grateful for fresh starts!
Jan - I am just so stinking excited for you! Sounds like you did decide to go with the movers. When do they come to load things up and how long do you think it will take? So glad that all of DS's paperwork came so you didn't have to worry about that!
GG - so happy you are having fun with the baby! She's at that age where it seems they change overnight!
The meeting I had to go to yesterday morning was so boring it was painful! And I have to go to it every month now!! I will be sure to take some work with me next time! Hope everyone has a blessed day! Murphy

Hi girls. I just got back from the chiropractor. He's thinking it's my hip and not my back causing the problems. I am to continue icing and he gave me some stretches. Hoping it helps. Carrying the baby sent me into spasms. I don't have her that often anyways. And when I get the chance, I'm holding, loving, and carrying her! She's going to be more mobile soon. She's so sweet!!
Hoping the scale goes down tomorrow. I've been eating different foods hoping it will help.
Amy: Glad your first day back wasn't too bad. My suitcase from Mothers Day is still in my room. Just haven't put it away!!
Murphy: Glad your cousin is doing so well! Mom recovered quickly too. She did lose some of her memories though. She can still remember more than I can!!
Jan: wow, it really is down to the final days. Here's hoping for lots of energy and no accidents!!

Stopping in to say hi! Long day. Got the cars sent off, packed up the kitchen, movers will be here tomorrow and went to say goodbye to my school friends. ran errands, huge dump run, felt bad about all the frozen food and things in the fridge that just won't travel.. Bought a cat harness and some cans of food for bribes to see if I can keep the kitty happy on the road :0 My plan is to leave early Thursday morning, DH has to stay another day and fly out Friday @ 6 am. Just want another quiet night in my own bed and then get through the next few days. Can't say Ive been OP or AF, but the scale was not a disaster this morning and I know what I have to do. Hope you all had a good day, will check in when I can and feel ready for this. Thanks for all of your support. Jan
