Welcome to our 2018 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

THE AMAZING AF MAY CHALLENGE May 1-31
What are your goals? What are you doing to obtain results? Are you getting the support you need? Are you doing what you need to be doing?
Our current challenge is to have an Amazing AF May. What makes an Amazing May? The answers are varied….losing weight, being AF, feeling stronger, knowing you are doing your best are but a few answers. During our Amazing AF May challenge take as many steps as you can to be the Amazing You! Plan ahead. Post your stats daily, it is an essential component to success. Post your goal and the steps needed to reach it. One misstep does not mean throw away the day, the night, the week. We are works in progress.
How are you going to keep your head in the game? How are you reaching the decision each and every day to choose not to drink?
Refocus on why you are a member of this board. What do you hope to achieve? Are you looking to be AF or AIM? Have you done some soul searching?
Are you doing daily battle in your head about drinking? Is drinking helping you become the amazing person you are? How does drinking help support your goals? If you slip, post to the board and find understanding. If you slip and report being AF, you are not hurting us, you are hurting yourself. Slips happen, pick yourself up and start again. There is no judgement, we are very supportive of each other.
Plan, plan, plan! Take it one day/meal/snack at a time and plan meals/menu for the next day. Do not plan A into your menu. However, if you have A, track it. As with all our challenges, everyone is welcomed. For some, making the commitment for May is the way to go. For others, one day at a time is the way to go. No one will be cut from the challenge. Feel free to post to the board even if you choose not to commit to the challenge. If you are looking to control the A in your life, this board may be for you.
Track your food, drink your water, move a little more than you currently do.

Good morning all! Happy hump day! I worked on my schedule yesterday and was able to plan a long weekend to go see my cousin. It will be a very short trip. Go over on Friday 6/22 and come home on Monday 6/25. But that's what works out. I'm really looking forward to seeing her! I spent all evening yesterday trying to share a video on FB with my sister and never could get it to work. I'm not sure if the issue was on my end or hers but I was so frustrated by the time I went to bed. I had to do some serious praying to try and relax! LOL
Amy - yay for a blue dot! And for the scale behaving! LOL
Jan - I know you are running on fumes right now. I'm praying for safe travels for you. Check in with us when you are up to it.
GG - my cousin and I laughed about having a hard time remembering some words. We both have done that for a long time!
I made a pot of refried bean soup after work yesterday and packaged up 10 portions for lunches! I would like to make some lasagna soup but I don't know if I have enough individual containers! I don't mind having soup for lunch even in hot weather and it sure is easy to just pull one out the night before. I also made some egg muffins for breakfasts. Good way to use up little bits of leftover veggies. They are kind of like muffin sized crustless quiches. One of my co-workers is at the hospital this morning being induced so we are all anxious for it to go well for her. Hope everyone has a great day! Murphy

Hi friends, Loved the TOTD Amy. Packing up the kitchen, so much to throw away, but I know I will have a REALLY clean kitchen when I get to the new house. Everything with a current freshness date!!!! Movers come this morning, trying to finish up, my PTO at school is coming to take the piano....that is a huge relief. Didn't just want to junk it but no one could move it. It will happily live on at my old school and be loved Better get a move on. Will check in when I can. Thanks for all the good wishes and thoughts for my travels. Sure there will be some pictures on FB. Jan

Hi girls. I was down a pound this morning. I'll take it! I have been on the thyroid meds for 5 weeks and have lost 3.8 pounds with very little exercise. It's better than I was doing, that's for sure!
Amy: I too loved the QOTD!
Murphy: I can eat soup anytime too! Especially when I'm sitting in the air conditioning!! Lol
Jan: safe travels. I'm glad your piano found a good home!!

Hello friends! Time is flying by, I can't believe it. My baby graduated last night, wow! They won their first playoff game yesterday but lost today. It would be such a weird feeling if tyler weren't going on to play ball, he's been playing 14 years! My eating is out of control. Ty's graduation party is saturday, once that's over I'll start focusing on that.
