Welcome to our 2018 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

THE AMAZING AF MAY CHALLENGE May 1-31
What are your goals? What are you doing to obtain results? Are you getting the support you need? Are you doing what you need to be doing?
Our current challenge is to have an Amazing AF May. What makes an Amazing May? The answers are varied….losing weight, being AF, feeling stronger, knowing you are doing your best are but a few answers. During our Amazing AF May challenge take as many steps as you can to be the Amazing You! Plan ahead. Post your stats daily, it is an essential component to success. Post your goal and the steps needed to reach it. One misstep does not mean throw away the day, the night, the week. We are works in progress.
How are you going to keep your head in the game? How are you reaching the decision each and every day to choose not to drink?
Refocus on why you are a member of this board. What do you hope to achieve? Are you looking to be AF or AIM? Have you done some soul searching?
Are you doing daily battle in your head about drinking? Is drinking helping you become the amazing person you are? How does drinking help support your goals? If you slip, post to the board and find understanding. If you slip and report being AF, you are not hurting us, you are hurting yourself. Slips happen, pick yourself up and start again. There is no judgement, we are very supportive of each other.
Plan, plan, plan! Take it one day/meal/snack at a time and plan meals/menu for the next day. Do not plan A into your menu. However, if you have A, track it. As with all our challenges, everyone is welcomed. For some, making the commitment for May is the way to go. For others, one day at a time is the way to go. No one will be cut from the challenge. Feel free to post to the board even if you choose not to commit to the challenge. If you are looking to control the A in your life, this board may be for you.
Track your food, drink your water, move a little more than you currently do.

Murphy- Yay for being able to arrange a trip to visit your cousin! I like soup year-round too. I made a pot of veggie soup last night.

Good morning all! I overslept a bit this morning and it's left me feeling a tad cranky! Need to adjust that! I stopped on the way home from work yesterday and got the car serviced. And if it isn't raining today when I get off, I'm going to stop and have the car detailed. I haven't had it washed and waxed in a year! I'm a bad car mom! Planning this trip was a good kick in the rear to get that maintenance taken care of. And I called yesterday and scheduled an appointment at the vet for Callie (she's not going to be happy with me!) and I ordered her years supply of heart worm meds. I'm feeling very virtuous this morning! LOL She's a completely inside dog and I honestly don't feel like it's necessary to have her on the heart worm meds since the danger comes from mosquito bites but since I'll be taking her to the beach with me, I'm sure I'll be sitting out on the porch with my cousin and will have her outside then so I guess it's better to be safe.
Amy - glad yesterday wasn't as crazy for you. I've got lots of computer work I want to tackle today since I'll be at my smaller clinic tomorrow.

GG - is tomorrow a day with the grands?
Carole - big congrats to Ty! I know what you mean about how weird it would have been at the game if he wasn't going to continue ball. When I was at my great niece's dance recital she absolutely broke down after it was over since she's planning to quit dance and switch to volleyball!
My plans for Saturday are to finally get the grill cleaned up. Hopefully Momma bird and her babies are gone now. I'm serving them an eviction notice. I need to do laundry and a deep cleaning in the master bath room. Then church on Sunday. I will plan to work on Monday though. I probably won't have to stay all day though. It's always quiet on the holidays though so that's a plus. Hope everyone has a great day!

Hello friends! I went on a 27 mile bike ride, finally it's warm! Jeff opened the pool now I've got to get these d@#@ chemicals right. I'm going back to the pool store today. I really dislike this place and the people that run it....I feel like they are all used car salesmen.
Amy, I bet you missed your beach walks!
Murphy, angel saw the pawdicure lady, she wasn't happy either!
