This challenge was created six years ago by a few Weight Watchers members. We are committed to making positive and permanent lifestyle changes. Success isn’t always measured at the scale. Each day, tally the positive actions that you made the day before and then talk about the challenges you are working on. Anyone with a positive commitment to the program can join. If you are the first one to post each day, please copy, paste and get us started and, if you choose, pose the Question of the Day (QOTD) that solicits constructive ideas to following the plan.

Good Morning Canners- Happy Friday! It is a lovely morning and happily a slower client weekend on my radar (8 over 2 days)as well as a few fam and friends events.I will most likely not meet my personal BD goal by Tuesday, but am still celebrating a lower scale number than last year at this time-It's a journey! You all will appreciate that a new ice cream sandwich store opens nearby this weekend- homemade cookies and ice cream. I have it on my radar as a birthday cake alternative. I would always argue myself out of this indulgence. This year, I may not.It might just be delicious...
This is my year of self care which includes kind and healthy self advocacy which includes speaking up for what I would like and not like, rather than accommodating others: a new skill for this aging gal. Percolating this and why it has not happened...
what about you? Do you know what you like- and kindly advocate for it?

Good morning, love light blessings love light blessings
Sally thank you very much for starting us out, hooray for slower weekend and family/friends. In my opinion, planned indulgences are what make this program and long term diet and exercise goals work.
Carol hooray for being a student!! hooray for hitting gym even when no time for bfast! WTG!
Year of self-care, Hmmm. I celebrate that as an aspirational goal. This year has been anything but. For me, it has been a year of surviving with way too much on my plate . . . I will reflect on that and perhaps report back later. I had a HUGE loss at WI last night, as in, I think maintenance issues with their scale. Also intense weight training class and trip to Wal Mart -- office supplies and stuff to keep me OP.
Today: hmm, still loving that self care thing . . . thinking maybe put off yard until Monday when gym closed , work gym OP brief witnesses.
Another self care thing, think I am going to try no trips out-of-town until late October. Juggling out-of-town trips with my business are probably my number one source of stress.
Thanks again for starting us out and for introducing that timely, important, and healing theme into my poor hurt brain.

Happy Friday.
Sally: I am adopting your idea of self-advocacy for health and happiness. It's time for us givers to tell people what we want and need. How will I do this?
--Have at least one day of the week that I don't have to prepare meals. --Make plans on weekends to do things and go places even if Sweetheart doesn't want to get out and about. --Practice the word...NO. --Take a small vacation this year and plan one for next. A meet up in Vegas? Palm Springs in the late Fall?
Janet: Hurrah for a low number on the scale and free WW!
Carol: Your weather sounds heavenly. It's been grey and cloudy here since a week ago Thursday. I need some sunshine!
Nat: Sending free time to hike and enjoy those beautiful mountains you live in.
Yesterday was a tough day for me. Too much carb comfort eating. But I did go to the Jazzercise in the park which turned out to be a major strength training session. I can feel some soreness in the abs which is a good thing. Today is Mom business, getting things in order. I have lots to do and feel a bit overwelmed. But I CAN do it.

Sally - Thanks for that perspective, about seeing the longer-term trend. I had been feeling disappointed that I have been struggling with this weight plateau for so long. So I went on the WW site and looked at my wt chart graph for 1 year, and lo and behold, I am 1.2 # less than a year ago. That was a nice surprise.
Jan - I love that idea of having at least one day that we don't have to prepare meals. I want to figure out a way to make that a reality, especially this time of year, with the longer days of activity. I have had 3 times this past week where I was exhausted but still preparing a meal from scratch late in the evening ....not a good idea for so many reasons! Anyway, sending positive, loving energy your way as you navigate family business. Yes, you CAN do it.

Love the self-care inspiration in here! Sally, I am definitely one that has always let others wishes go ahead of mine (mom and dad, especially dad like that) though I am doing much better in my 50s than I have in the past. Jan, definitely I would meet up in Palm Springs or Vegas with some advance warning to plan I am going to make sure I get out in some sun for a hike this weekend. I don't have to drive anywhere, just walk up the street a bit for a gorgeous view without worrying about any holiday weekend traffic. Enjoyed some family time last night...went down with DH and DS to see Solo. My DSis joined us. We love our Star Wars LOL. Thankfully midnight showings are not the thing with them. Yes I CAN: -Get myself on the gazelle some more today, get my steps in -Keep to my cleanse foods, almost done! -Track, track...been skimping there this week Waves to all! Nat
