Good Morning Marm and LTMs,
Marm, King would never let MJ do anything with accounts and she has no money of her own.
We had a low of 68º and going up to 92º and partly cloudy with winds light and variable.
There are no special plans for today except to try to figure out how to get everything packed because we will have to move out within a few days.
MJ and Hannah did a bit of grocery shopping yesterday and the rest of us stayed home. We all enjoyed a quiet day. We’re trying to sort through things and have to find some boxes to start packing our stuff. We have no idea where we will move.
We continued our game of Monopoly last night and we’ve been playing for about an hour every evening. I think this was our third night playing this game.
Maxine Calendar: Thursday 5/31: I’d fill in the bald spots on my lawn, but I like to leave a little room for crabgrass.
Peanuts Calendar: Thursday 5/31: THE DAILY EXTRA: World Traveler – By the Number – 4: Major League Baseball teams (Dodgers, Giants, Cubs and Astros) managed by Leo Durocher on his way to a career total of 2,009 wins.
The following letters were sent from Japan about 2-3 years after we first arrived there. This one was a newsletter written by DH Bill 12/30/1957. Dear Friends, “The world’s largest city last night held its annual Christmas Eve binge, a fabulous mixture of church carols and pagan bacchanalia followed by a king-sized hangover. Forgotten by the bulk of the celebrants, a small minority of Christians observed the birth of the Christ Child quietly at church services and in gatherings at home or with friends.” Quoted from a front page story in the Japan Times, December 25, 1957. Yokohama Lutheran Church gathered a congregation of 35 for the Christmas Eve service. I preached the sermon and conducted the service of Holy Baptism. One high school girl became a church member by adult baptism. About half of the group assembled were seekers, one man in a Christian Church for the first time in his life. Christmas Day we had a program at Yokohama Church for the children. (Yokohama Church is now meeting at 29 Mitsuzawa until the new church is built and the church has taken over the Sunday School at the preaching place.) 110 children gathered in the 12 by 20 room to view Christmas filmstrips and receive gift books and attendance recognition. Christmas night we watched as six ambitious young people from my English Bible Class presented an adaptation of Henry Van Dyke’s, “The Other Wise Man.” Mr. Shiraishi, Miss Seshiyama, two little boys, two young people, Doris and myself were the audience. I had left the publicity in the hands of the class members and they were too bashful to invite their friends. The English was excellent, not due to my masterful teaching but because of the ambition of this group. (to be continued tomorrow). To be continued tomorrow . . .

Sounds like King was planning all this for a long time. What are you all telling the girls about their dad? Is there anything that the law can do in this situation?? I have never met the man, but I really do not like him.
I need to get out and do some shopping. I did vote yesterday. Probably told you that.I am paying my consumer cellular bill...$43.94....much better than$100+ to Sprint. I have to stop into Sprint and find out how to stop my landline. They told me once and I forgot as I did not act at the time. I need to get moving now. Temp 62* going to 93*. WE NEED RAIN!!!!

Hello, all LTMs,
Doris, if prayers are an answer, you have a lot in your account. I am familiar through family, w/ the circumstances you are dealing w/ where money & bills are concerned. In this case, the main wage owner let the other partner have control of the money & accounts, and responsibility for bill paying. She didn't pay, or paid late, overdrew the accounts, had multiple overdraft charges & their home went into foreclosure. She removed the Sheriff sale stickers from the door, and he found out the day before the sale from a friend. He has no idea to this day where the money went, why bills weren't paid when there was plenty of income to cover the bills. She wiped out their checking, savings, daughter's college fund & HIS consulting account. He accepted his responsibility for NOT being involved and letting her take full responsibility. In MJ's case, she probably couldn't be involved. This is typical controlling behavior, and part of spousal abuse. I hope King ends up in jail, but that will not help MJ, the girls or you!
Well, I went to WW and I did WI. Oh, yes, I had a wonderful few weeks, and I will be keeping my nose to the grindstone for the next few weeks! I think knowing that I didn't have to be responsible for my actions by going to a meeting and getting on the scale. I had 2 weeks of fun, and now, I will be OP till it's back to my Happy Weight!
Hoping everyone has a great day! And, Doris, I hope you have some peace w/ knowing where you will go soon.
Rose Marie

Our usual Thursday morning. Breakfast out after work followed by grocery shopping. Back to work again later. At least I'm back to just doing that once a week unless I'm needed to sub later Wednesday afternoons.Business had been down so DH hasn't been working but he got called back since business has picked up again. He's working this afternoon. Usually he just works mornings.
I hadn't been to the shopping center in months. I couldn't believe how many vacant storefronts there are now. I also couldn't believe trying on capris at one place they didn't have any small enough. The smallest size was a size smaller than I usually wear so I said they must run big but the clerk didn't think so. I remember when I used to be told they didn't have anything large enough. Another store there were no clerks in sight to help. If I'd found something I don't know where I'd have paid for them. Then these stores wonder why they're losing business.
Rose Marie, such a sad situation with your family too. I hope there was some legal recourse. Same for King. I don't know how King lives with himself after what he's done to his family.

I have been on the go all day.
I went out to plant the marigolds as soon as the dew dried off the grass. I've told you several times my steps in planting in this sand country so it was after 12:00 when I finally finished. After we had lunch we went to the cemetery to retrieve the flowers that were there. Even with the ran we had they were dry.
Back home now, supper is over & I'm wore out. Still have dishes to do but will rest for a while before I start them.
Doris, I pray it was a good day for all of you & that you were able to make positive steps toward this unexpected move.
Cutting this short so I can put my feet up before cleaning up the kitchen.

Cooler today, in the 80’s, but still somewhat humid so I left the AC on. I don’t like running it all the time so I hope the humidity lowers soon. This afternoon I went out to buy some black ink for my printer and gave them 8 empty cartridges that I had been saving. I knew they used to give you credit for them but wasn’t sure that was still happening. Lucky for me that I saved them for they will give me $2 credit for each one on my next purchase when they process them. My printer uses separate ink cartridges for 3 colors, a photo black and a regular black, 5 in all.l My colors are low so Ill soon have to buy them (when I get that credit). I try not to print in color much, but it’s a must if I want to print a photo. Don’t do that so much anymore either.
Doris, I hope you can get some containers for packing soon. You can’t just be forced out without taking your life long treasures! I hope they will give you a little time since you didn’t know what was happening! My prayers for you, MJ and the girls. I hope you are able to keep the car, yours or MJ’s?
Tomorrow I am going to one of the places arranged for us displaced knitters. There are several options. I will probably pick up my DGD to go with me. My DD is still very busy clearing out her shop and listing the remaining yarn and needles on a web site to sell. I see that she already has the yarn there, but has more to do with moving it, etc.
I made cookies this afternoon in lieu of doing something else. I will take some tomorrow and also on Saturday for the DGGC’s big birthday party. I’m also taking a tray of cheese and crackers to both. I doubt that we’ll be eating at the future knitting times, but for the first one it was suggested. Goodnight all!

I had a message from Marm after work to let everyone know that her modem got fried from a power surge so she's without internet until 3-5 tomorrow when it's replaced.

Gareth, I dislike low waist too and the skinny legs. If the stores do have a size small enough for me they have both of those usually...the low cut waist and the tight skinny legs.
Doris, I can't believe MJ let him get away with not letting her know about the finances. That sure is not a good way to do things. Even if the person taking care of them is good at it and honest that person could die unexpectedly and the other would have no clue what to do. I often wondered where he got his money because in all the time I've known you on the WW board I never heard that he had a job. I know MJ worked at Curves at one time. Did he take care of your finances and bills too? Of course you don't have to answer because it's really none of my business but I'm sure we all wonder about that too. And yes I forgot about cars. Wonder if he paid the payments on those. JUst another thing to worry about if they were bought on the payment plan. I think all couple should iron out how finances are going to be handled and also thoughts on discipline of possible children before marraige. But when in love one things all these things will come together satisfactorily and many, many times they don't. I know my one friend never thought her husband would be beating the kids with a belt
Marlene, I really need to do your planting process here. Our soil isn't sandy at all...it's hard and rocky. The seeds I planted aren't growing and I'm sure that's why. We plant the tomatoes in huge pots and mix our own soil for that so they grow fine but in the flower beds it's a real challenge to get anything to grow.

No, King did not handle my finances, but he did ask for loans from time to time and they were never paid back.

Well I still can't get over what you did to all of you. I'm so sorry for all you're going through.I'm glad to hear you didn't put him in charge of your finances too. I was under the impression that he stole all your money too. I guess whatever he "borrowed" was pretty much stolen though since he didn't pay it back and probably never will.
