Going for blood work this morning for my checkup with the doctor next week. This is a fasting blood work so was drinking lots of water last night and having another bottle this morning as they say it makes the blood come out quicker if properly hydrated.

Good Morning!
It rained and rained last night but I still went to book club. I am glad I did. We always have such lively discussions. We went to Stonewood Grill. It is one of my favorite places, so didn't want to miss it. They have the best white sangria! I had one and a chicken, asparagus and brie salad. I was happy that I had no gain today
Sandy, Good luck with your blood work today. That is on my schedule but not until summer's end. I couldn't get in to see my Dr. until October.
Ann, I started watching Dr. Foster last night. Brits dialects are hard for me to understand but I enjoyed it, so will stick with it. It is nice to have something different to watch in the summer.
I do have a recipe. It is not WW friendly but it is an easy, quick and delicious cookie recipe to make when you have the grandkids and don't want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen baking cookies. These are light and so yummy!!!
CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 1 pkg. Krusteaz Chocolate Chip Muffin Mix (you could use another flavor) 1 stick softened butter 1 egg
Mix ingredients. Place cookies on cookie sheet and bake in a 375 degree oven for 9 to 11 minutes.

Good morning and Happy 1st day of June. This year is really starting to fly by.
Sandy, that's a good tip about staying hydrated when you go in for fasting blood work. I'll remember that!
I wanted to post this morning while I had a few minutes of quiet time. Maya was up bright and early before 7 this morning! I'm not used to sharing my first cup of coffee of the day with a chatty 7 year old. Of course I loved every minute. I fixed her some breakfast earlier and right now she's watching her Kindle with grandpa.
Since my DD is working this morning, I'll wait until after lunch to take Maya back home. I need to stop at Kroger while I'm out. I got groceries yesterday but they were out of the Carbmaster skim milk I buy so I'll check a different Kroger that's close to my DD's house. I should just buy 2 cartons since it has such a long expiration date.
We'll be hot and muggy again today but we're expecting a nice cool down for the first part of next week. Of course it won't last and we'll be back in the "equator zone" by the end of next week. I think I'd enjoy summer much more if I didn't have to wear these compression pantyhose 23 hours a day.

Ruth, we were posting at the same time. Thanks for the recipe. I've made a similar recipe using cake mix and it turns out great. One of my favorite combinations is strawberry cake mix and add in some white chocolate chips and slivered almonds. It makes a lovely summer cookie.

Good Morning:
Thanks for the start, Sandy. I had my blood work last week and have my physical this afternoon.
Ruth: How far did you get in Dr. Foster? I haven't gotten back to it. My DH would not like it, but he will be away on and off this month so I'll get back to it, maybe over this rainy weekend, too.
My back is so much better today! I iced several times yesterday and took aspirin in the AM and again in the PM. DH was after me to take it more often but I am very cautious with any meds.
I can't believe it is June 1. In three weeks youngest DD's family will be in residence until mid August. Yikes!!! I have lots to do at the beach to get ready for them.
I have Dr. at 3 and am going to try to take a walk with Slow Walker at 4 and see how it goes. I cannot bear this inactivity!
Good day to all.
Ann

Good morning friends.
DD made this delicious salad for dinner last night. I ran it through the recipe builder and it is 1 pt per serving.
Tangy Cucumber Salad
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar 2 tablespoons olive oil 2 teaspoons Truvia 1 teaspoon kosher salt, plus more as needed Freshly ground black pepper 2 pounds cucumbers (about 4 medium) 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh chives
Instructions:
Place vinegar. oil, Truvia, salt and a pinch of black pepper in a bowl and whisk.
Slice the cucumbers into thing 1/8" thick rounds. Place them in the bowl, add the chives and toss to combine. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight to allow the flavor to meld. Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed before service. Serves 6. The original recipe used 2 Tbsp of sugar and she is a WW so used Truvia.
It's been easy eating with the kids here as they eat lots of fruit and vegetables. No one wants a dessert. I told them if they wanted any they could buy it and DSIL bought some ice cream.
Ann I am glad to hear your back is better. Good luck at your appt. I had blood work Tues and will see my primary care dr next Tuesday.
The DK are going to meet his sister for dinner tonight. Tomorrow we are hoping to spend they day at Myakka State Park.
Gail how is your cold?
Have a good one.

Good Morning. Sharon thanks for the recipe. I love cucumbers and sometimes add peppers and tomatoes and just have a chunky salad without lettuce.
Sandy good luck on the blood work and thanks again for starting us off. Vicki when I was pregnant with my third (he was born the end of August) I had to put on panty hose before I got out of bed. e lived near the beach in Delaware and I got to go to the beach that whole summer wearing tent dresses and support hose. I have to say that I still love the beach and that did not scar me for life!
I had fast food yesterday. I had vowed not to do it, but I pass 8 in the 1.5 miles to and from work. I have to learn to be stronger.

Good afternoon. Feeling a bit better today. My cold is still here but I am resting and hydrating and that is helping. I did work this morning, and one of the receptionists slept right through her alarm and didn't make it until the second meeting. We had a ton of people. Everyone trying to stay in shape for summer.
My blood work is coming up too. I will remember about the water, Ruth.
Vicki that must be hard with the compression pantyhose when it's hot! I wear the socks on the plane. They help, but I can't imagine wearing them in hot, humid weather. However, if I had to but could be on the beach, Geri, I wouldn't mind it so much.
Thanks for the recipes! I don't dare make cookies though. I will try the cucumber salad. Looks yum.
Yay Ann, so glad your back is feeling better.
Rest for me this afternoon. Maybe a movie later.
Have a good one!
Gail

Dr. visit went well. Of course that inefficient office had not sent things but they were able to get them. Well it seems the Urgent Care Dr. ( 3 of them seen on different visits) all felt I needed surgery but this Dr. does not. Says the CT scan last week does not show any worse than the scan from August so wants me to take a daily dose of miralax--actually half the dose and see him in 6 months. My relief is unbelievable and I just feel so reassured. Window cleaner just arrived.

I was so optimistic this morning when I woke to sunny skies and chirping birds. It started raining 2 hrs ago and is still raining. Tomorrow we are supposed to have a break in the rain so will try to get to the Farmers Market after yoga class.
Ann, I have watched 2 episodes of Doctor Foster. I don't think Mike would like it either, so I will enjoy as much of it as I can while he is gone. He will be back Tuesday. Glad your back is better. My hip was hurting a bit so I did the leg series with resistance bands in two of my yoga classes and the pain has disappeared. Sometimes that works and sometimes it does not.
Vicki, Your strawberry white chocolate almond cookies sound yummy. I have made cookies with cake mix, too, but they are a little heavier than the muffin mix, but I may have made them slightly different. It was a long time ago.
Sharon, I love cucumber salad in the summertime. Thanks for the recipe. How tangy is it? Thanks for the sugar option. It is such a small amount that I will try it with sugar. Tomorrow should be a perfect day for Myakka State Park. Enjoy your company!
Jane, Glad your Dr. does not feel you need surgery. I hope the Miralax gives you some relief.

My mistake the original recipe was 2 teaspoons of sugar, not 2 Tbsp. Yikes! This was a not tangy dish. I think they wanted an interesting title. Laura used English cukes. I saved the original on Pinterest, if you want to see it.
We all went downtown to our circle today and walked the shops. Then went to the old Jacaranda Hotel for lunch. Geri you might remember it. The DK will leave soon to meet his DSIS family. They’ll be back tonight.
Jane I’m glad you won’t need surgery and it’s good to see you relieved.

Sharon, Love, love, love your picture of you and your daughter! You are both beautiful women! BRAVO to your DD for losing 26 lbs on WW. She ROCKS! I did not even catch your error when I copied your recipe. I put 2 tsp sugar in the recipe without even noticing that you put 2 Tbsp in your post.

Good afternoon Ladies
Sharon....love your picture of you and your daughter. Congratulations on her losing 26 lbs.
I really don't know why I'm trying to follow ww, when I only sabotage myself and don't follow it like I should. I start off good and then fall off. It's very hard during the summer months as well as I crave ice cream and picnics etc.
