Good Morning Cat and June tunes.
We had a low of 70º and going up to a near record high 94º and sunny with winds SSE 15-25. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible.
Yesterday we spent a lot of time sorting and tossing things because we will have to move out within a few days. I’m getting rid of a lot of old clothes that we brought from Mississippi and have never worn since we’ve been here.
We continued our game of Monopoly last night and we’ve been playing for about an hour every evening. I think this was our third night playing this game.
Maxine Calendar: Friday 6/1: I spend so much time looking for my cell phone it’s starting to feel like a hobby.
Peanuts Calendar: Friday 6/1: THE DAILY EXTRA: Fun Fact – Red, yellow, blue, green . . . a box of O-shaped cereal Froot Loops comes in a rainbow of colors, but the colorful Os are all the same flavor.
The following letters were sent from Japan about 2-3 years after we first arrived there. This one was a newsletter written by DH Bill 12/30/1957. (continued from yesterday). On Sunday December 22 we attended a service at Yokosuka which gathered 30 people 20 of them are not yet Christian. On Christmas night the five Christians of the Yokosuka Preaching Place and other regular attendants of the Bible class went caroling at a TB hospital. Kawasaki Preaching Place is still such an infant that we had only our usual Bible class on December 22. We have had a most Joyful Christmas. Gifts from friends and family, cards with those precious personal notes filled our hearts with great joy. Your prayers have been a source of strength and comfort to us in a year that has not been without its trying times. During 1957 in addition to the Evangelistic work, duties as Business Manager and Treasurer of the Mission Association kept me busy until September. Since Spring I’ve managed to get two afternoons a week language study. Numerous committees seem to occupy any extra time I think I have. The most interesting has been serving on the Building Committee of the Lutheran Literature Society. The plans are to begin and complete the new bilding in 1958. The first of the year will bring gradual integration into the workings of the Lutheran Literature Society. This organization is the joint endeavor of all Lutheran Missions and the Lutheran Church in Japan. Work as Promotional Secretary for the LLS will be my job until furlough in 1959. Doris wants to add a note so I’ll close for now. Bill. To be continued tomorrow . . .

76 to 97 another hot one. The feels like will be 105. "May 2018 is going into the books as hottest on record, just beating out 1996. The average temperature during the month was just over six degrees above normal, and Thursday was the 25th consecutive day of above average temperatures."
Gotta refill my hummingbird feeders today. Gym, a stop at grocery store, home then friend wants me to ride with her to OK son's coffee shop. I have been putting her off so decided today to do it. I don't look forward to it, but...
Have a great June 1st. Listen to the Mocking Bird Lucy

Listen To The Mockingbird
I'm dreaming now of Hallie, sweet Hallie, sweet Hallie I'm dreaming now of Hallie, for the thought of her is one that never dies She's sleeping in the valley, the valley, the valley She's sleeping in the valley, and the mockingbird singing where she lies
Listen to the mockingbird, listen to the mocking bird. The mockingbird is singing o'er her grave Listen to the mockingbird, listen to the mockingbird Still singing where the weeping willows wave
Ah well I yet can remember, I remember, I remember Ah well I yet can remember, when we gathered in the cotton side by side 'Twas in the mild mid-September, in September, in September 'Twas in the mild mid-September, and the mockingbird was singing far and wide
* Refrain
When charms of spring are awaken, are awaken, are awaken When charms of spring are awaken and the mockingbird is singing on the bough I feel like one so forsaken, so forsaken, so forsaken I feel like one so forsaken, since my Hallie is no longer with me now * Refrain

Went for blood work this morning for my checkup with the doctor next week. This is a fasting blood work so was drinking lots of water last night and had another bottle this morning as they say it makes the blood come out quicker if properly hydrated. One problem both Fred and I had was they couldn't find veins! But the expert finally found mine and then when she was done they had her work on Fred.

Hi Cat and June tunes,
A cool sunny 62, wind SW 1 mph, high 87. YES! Waiting for Medium R to arrive, hope they don't forget ) Not sure what I'll do today, but the ac guy didn't make it over yesterday so hopefully today. Again we were one degree of the record high for yesterday, 90 something. Did work on clearing off the dining table, still need to do more. Looks like I'll be going back for another mammogram on my right side, the report said abnormal.
Cat, Happy June! Your going to be a fabulous leader this month.
Doris, how is Rachael doing with her glasses? Have your/she/MJ noticed any change/improvement?
Lucy, YIKES! a record high month - no thanks, you can keep it. )
Sandy, I didn't know that about the water helping the blood come out faster. I'll have to remember that (maybe).
Jenny, so good to see you, sorry you and play in the dirt like you used to.
Well better sign off for now, have a wonderful day every and stay cool. BBL

Linda,
Rachael is doing a lot better with the glasses. She has only thrown up a few times and has a good appetite again.
Phyl,
I wasn't hurt. You were just telling it like it is and it isn't easy. Now King has managed to drag the divorce out further by asking for more time through his lawyer - and it was granted. I think he needs to be made to account for what he has done with all the money he has taken that wasn't his.
