Wait, Cat.. I need to answer the potato chip question before we go on to church bells.. ok I'll answer them both...
For my potato chip flavor I would like salsa with cilantro.
No can't hear the church bells any more but.... growing up in this area, there was an old man who was deaf.. Every evening at six o'clock he would play the church bells.. Since he died no one has played them since.. It was such a beautiful sound.. he was such a talented man.
Sandy, I know if I drink plenty of water before I go for bloodwork they can get it easier.. if not then it's sometimes impossible.. Tiny veins run in our family too.
Love the mocking bird song.. when I was a little girl we used to live in the country, slept with the windows open.. and every morning really early we could hear a mocking bird sing.. such a happy sound.. A few nights ago I heard a bird singing about 2 a.m... it sang until almost dawn.. I thought it sounded familiar but couldn't make out what kind it was until I checked online for bird sounds.. lo and behold it was a mocking bird.. had been years since I've heard one.. it sings almost nightly now..
So glad Rachel's glasses have helped that much.. Amazing
Really happy to hear JD is doing so well.. I was so worried about that surgery, but he got lots of prayers..
I'm angry tonight.. have been almost all afternoon.. the reason? Hubby took doggieboy to the vet so they could put the flea med on the back of his neck.. when we did it before he got sick so we always have the vet do it.. he also needed two shots, which he got.. But the vet told hubby that dog had the pill for fleas last time, which he didn't.. Hubby is so forgetful he couldn't remember so he bought those pills.. one each month the vet said.. Well, I won't give dog those pills because he got sick once before with them.. we always give him the liquid on the back of the neck.. So dog didn't get the flea stuff on his neck... and to top it all off they did something to his foot.. he is limping and is in a lot of pain. Lucky I had some pain med for him but he's still not feeling well.. I am angry because this isn't the first time this vet has messed up.. I didn't want dog to go there again but hubby insisted.. but after today I am so angry he WON'T go there ever again.. one time they dropped him and hurt his side. this time I don't know what they did but they hurt his foot.. I should have gone with them today but was so sick with tummy cramps this morning I couldn't do anything..

If My Body Was a Car!
If my body was a car, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. I've got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish and my paint job is getting a little dull
But that's not the worst of it.
My headlights are out of focus.
And it's especially hard to see things up close.
My traction is not as graceful as it once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump into things even in the best of weather.
My whitewalls are stained with varicose veins.
It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed. My fuel rate burns inefficiently.
But here's the worst of it.
Almost every time I sneeze, cough or sputter, eIther My Radiator Leaks or My Exhaust Backfires!

I might fill a thread all by myself!
Jenny, I feel so bad for doggieboy. I hope he is better today.

Meeting this morning but not getting on the scales. But I figure at least I'm going to the meeting. Really need to start focusing on me again as nothing I can do for Debbie and Maija except give love and support.
Funny Bridgette story. Her and Bailey were in the backyard with Fred and he came running in saying you need to come out right now as Bridgette has hurt her paw and can't walk! So I go out and sure enough if she tried standing her left paw was held in the air and if she tried to walk she would fall. I was really scared for her and went right to her to pick her up. She looked up at me and then at her paw and her nail had gotten stuck in the part of the collar where her tags are! So got the nail out and she ran for the gate!
Yes I do hear our church bells as our church is right behind the elementary school right across the street.

Good Morning Cat and June Tunes,
To answer today’s question, no, I don’t hear church bells. We are outside of town and all is quiet here.
We had a low of 62Âş and partly cloudy and going up to 79Âş and partly cloudy and windy with winds NW 20-30 mph.
Yesterday we spent a lot of time sorting and tossing things because we will have to move out within a few days. I’m getting rid of a lot of old clothes that we brought from Mississippi and have never worn since we’ve been here.
We continued our game of Monopoly last night and we’ve been playing for about an hour every evening. I think this is a stress reliever for us. This was our third night playing this game.
Maxine Calendar: Saturday and Sunday 6/2-3: Croutons, bacon, pudding, cheese. My work here is done.
Peanuts Calendar: Saturday and Sunday 6/2-3: THE DAILY EXTRA: When people ask me if I went to film school I tell them, “No, I went to films.” – Quentin Taratino.
The following letters were sent from Japan about 3 years after we first arrived there in 1954. This one was a newsletter written by DH Bill 12/30/1957. (continued from yesterday). Doris wants to add a note, so I’ll close for now. Bill. Since moving back to Tokyo in September we have no maid and I’ve been finding how time consuming it is to be a housewife in Japan. Shopping also requires much time – there are no supermarkets and so even daily shopping takes me to three or more different shops. At our local shops the usual wrapping is newspaper made into small bags – meat is wrapped in large bamboo leaves. Two afternoons a week I study Japanese. Once a week I help a University student (the daughter of one of the Church officials) with her English conversation. Her English is excellent, and the hour goes by all too quickly. When time permits I go along with Bill to the Preaching Places and Bible classes he has already mentioned. Doris. We are still learning the game of golf and get out to the local course in Tokyo every chance we get. Once a month is not too often, but we appreciate the occasional nights when I am home. We keep talking about going to some of the famous spots around Tokyo which every tourist without fail goes to see. We may get to see some of these beauty spots in the year before we come home. As you note – the thought of furlough is quite evident. At this point we are quite conscious that in one year and six months we’ll be heading East to home. We think of your often and pray for the work you are each doing in Christ’s name. Sincerely, Bill and Doris. To be continued tomorrow . . .
Silvery Moon Doris

Thanks for the start, Cat. The low was 78 and to get to 99 than a cool front comes through.
Not much planned. I put away a load of clothes already. I will probably sweep and mop sometime today. Kinda down in the dumps cause I realize the shot in my back is wearing off. Decisions, decisions. Be back later. Have a great Saturday and weekend. Listen to the Mockingbird. Jenny listened.

Hi!
Potato chip -- salsa and cheese! No, I don't hear church bells here. Just traffic noise. Lucy, I too, love my A/C this time of year!
Today is going to be very hot. It is already 88Âş and only mid-morning. When we were younger, temperature changes didn't bother us too much, but now... We are doing laundry today, and the bed will get clean bedding. We'll have something simple for dinner, and then have our showers and watch tv this evening. We don't expect any calls or visits.
Might even have some fun! Hope you do, too! Diane

Good morning. No plans for today except church tonight. It's cool today - currently 70, but I needed a jacket this morning when I took Waylon out. QOTD I'm like Cat, I can't hear church bells, but I hear train whistles (there is a freight line nearby, even get stopped by l-o-n-g freight trains at times, usually when I'm running late for something.)
