Welcome to our 2018 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

NEW CHALLENGE! Declaration of Independence from Alcohol June 1 - July 4
Freedom from alcohol? Does that make sense to you? Are you held hostage to it, use it to calm yourself, to forget what is going on, to get through the evening or even the day? What once was an enjoyable treat has become a daily necessity? Then it is time to take a stand and declare yourself independent. It isn't easy, if it was there would be no need for the support of this board. But together we stand and together we can fight it.
Think about the freedom from alcohol. It isn't just about the money, but it is about your health and well-being.
How is your Pursuit of Happiness being affected by alcohol?
The focus of this board is to be ALCOHOL FREE. The focus of our new challenge is be alcohol free from June 1 - July 4, one day at a time. Starting June 15 and ending July 4, we are challenging ourselves to make the right choices, and go alcohol free. Can you let yourself be the person you want to be? Can you reach out for help if need be? The rules are simple, no alcohol for the challenge (understanding for a very special occasion is given). Post your stats daily, it is an essential component to success. One misstep does not mean throw away the day, the night, the week. We are works in progress.
This is a challenge about control....you are in control of what goes in your mouth. Give yourself the gift of THINDEPENDENCE and be selfish if that is what is needed to take care of you!
If you slip, post to the board and find some understanding. If you slip and report you are AF, you are not hurting us, you are hurting yourself. Slips happen, pick yourself up and start again. There is no judgement, we are very supportive of each other.
As with all of our challenges, everyone is welcomed. For some making the commitment for the four week challenge is the way to go. For others, one day at a time is the way to go. No one will be cut from the challenge. And feel free to post to the board even if you choose not to commit to the challenge. But you might want to ask yourself why.
June 1 - June 7: What is your PREAMBLE (your intention for the challenge?)
June 8 - June 14: What are your BIll of RIghts as a Weight Watcher? (the right to eat fruit, the right to exercise, the right to feel good about yourself, etc.)
June 15 - June 21: What is your pursuit of Hapiness?
June 22 - June 28: What does Freedom mean to you by working this life plan?
June 29 - July 4: Get ready for your own fireworks to happen by declaring your Truths!
Kick the tyranny of alcohol and a few extra pounds aside as we celebrate THINDEPENDENCE.

Good morning all! I slept in till 6:30 which is late for me! I'm up now and have my coffee and even unloaded the dishwasher while the coffee was making. I have numerous little project around the house today and I'm seriously thinking of staying in my pj's because that makes it harder to think about running out for a quick trip to get wine! Hey! We do whatever we need to right? LOL
Amy - so sorry about the stressful day yesterday! Hope today is more calm and you can get some rest.
GG - glad you had such a good time with Addie. And I agree that leaving your phone can sometimes be a good thing.
Jan - I'm with Amy - I sure don't envy you the unpacking! But I'm so happy that you are moved in and everything is there. Did you take your cat to the cabin with you?
Carole - If you stayed AIM, then it was a "gold" outing!
More coffee now. I'll probably stop by during the day today for an extra dose of encouragement! Hugs to all! Murphy

Good morning friends. Have not been able to sleep past 5ish for the last week. Hoping that soon my brain and body will relax enough to really be able to catch up. Had wine last night and I know that doesn't help with the waking up, just the turning off the brain for going to sleep. My intention is to join the challenge and get my act together. My points rolled over this morning so I have a fresh start and first step is to track and be accountable with my food choices. Today will be lots of activity at the cabin and Sis house so maybe a good nights sleep and AF at my "happy" place will get me on the right track. Can't believe it's June already!! DS didn't get into the pre med at USC, that actually was my hope.....LA and TOO expensive! He plans to take his classes at a Jr. College and GF will do her on line Masters. He'll apply at some more schools next spring and doesn't seem daunted about what's happening now. Can work and save some more $$$ They will probably get an apartment somewhere near where I used to teach...closer to the colleges. They are planning to come out here at the end of June for a few weeks, something else to look forward too. Have a great weekend all. Jan Amy So sorry about the stress and emotional eating. I have currently been using the stress excuse for emotional drinking, but know that has to stop. Doesn't solve the problem and doesn't make me feel any better either!! Hugs Murphy Hope you just get to stay home and relax this weekend. Have you been out to use your patio or is it already getting too hot? GG Glad you had a good day with Addi. Will she start Kinder in the fall? Because we packed everything, this was the longest I'd gone without weighing myself at home since I started WW. Was so nervous to go yesterday, but know it's just a number to see where I'm at and now I will find my scale in this mess so I can at least stay a little more on track. Carole Sounds like a fun outing with your dad. I have never golfed, except pee wee DS was just really starting to get better while working at the golf course. Cindy Thanks for the new challenge, what are you up to these days?? Out in the yard much? Waving hi!

Murphy......ha ha, if you think staying in your PJ's would keep you from going out shopping, you've never been to a Walmart Amazing what people wear there to shop. I like your thinking though, I just need to not bring it in the house....and tell DH the same as he's not drinking it these days. The cat will stay here overnight while we go up north. She seems to be figuring it out.

Well I'm "esweating" like a pork!! As Kim used to say! I bought a new stick vacuum and just spent an hour hanging the rack on the wall. It involved a drill, wall anchors (multiple!), and hammer, level and screwdriver! But it is up and I pray it just stays there! LOL Laundry is going. I did get cleaned up but I'm determined to stay at home!!

Doesn't everyone stay in their pjs on Saturday?? lol I am still in my nightgown and love it!! But I'm using the excuse that I'm icing my leg! Nothing planned for this weekend, so again, it will be a resting, relaxing one.
Amy: I'm so sorry for the stress!! I hope you can relax and unwind this weekend!
Murphy: Good for you putting the rack up on the wall! What else do you enjoy drinking besides water? I made some Crystal Lite lemonade that really hit the spot!
Jan:'I think it is a perfect time to get away!! The work will be there when you get back! Addi won't turn 5 until December, so I still have one more year with her! 😍
Carole: I think your goal was a good one, and I'm glad you didn't!
Next weekend will be my first challenge. We are having Fathers Day here on Saturday. Ds and family will spend the night because there will be A. I am stating here right now that I will be AF. I want to be able to enjoy everyone without putting my health at risk. I also want to be able to worship on Sunday with a clear head and no guilt!!

Hi Everyone! With heat index we have been over 100 degrees....internet was on the funk though don't know if it was connected. So I did other stuff for the last two days and fingers are aching. So I am sorry I have not posted. Two day AF streak!
Amy, the TOTD made me smile....the other day I found a dime on the ground and said to my friend....10 angels have sent me a message. I always hear that a penny is a message....I also have a family (or two) of cardinals visiting my bird feeders....cardinals are also a sign I have heard. Have hummingbirds visiting also. Figured if I can't keep a garden growing in the area, bird feeders work.
My lilies are coming up in the surrounding circle garden of the one surviving lily from a couple of years ago. So far my lawn care workers seem to know not to cut them down. Planted several sweet potato vines to cover an area that needs more work in front of the house. They grow like weeds (maybe they are) so at least it will be green.
Hopefully will be able to do a better job of posting tomorrow! Hugs, Cindy
