Welcome to our 2018 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

NEW CHALLENGE! Declaration of Independence from Alcohol June 1 - July 4
Freedom from alcohol? Does that make sense to you? Are you held hostage to it, use it to calm yourself, to forget what is going on, to get through the evening or even the day? What once was an enjoyable treat has become a daily necessity? Then it is time to take a stand and declare yourself independent. It isn't easy, if it was there would be no need for the support of this board. But together we stand and together we can fight it.
Think about the freedom from alcohol. It isn't just about the money, but it is about your health and well-being.
How is your Pursuit of Happiness being affected by alcohol?
The focus of this board is to be ALCOHOL FREE. The focus of our new challenge is be alcohol free from June 1 - July 4, one day at a time. Starting June 15 and ending July 4, we are challenging ourselves to make the right choices, and go alcohol free. Can you let yourself be the person you want to be? Can you reach out for help if need be? The rules are simple, no alcohol for the challenge (understanding for a very special occasion is given). Post your stats daily, it is an essential component to success. One misstep does not mean throw away the day, the night, the week. We are works in progress.
This is a challenge about control....you are in control of what goes in your mouth. Give yourself the gift of THINDEPENDENCE and be selfish if that is what is needed to take care of you!
If you slip, post to the board and find some understanding. If you slip and report you are AF, you are not hurting us, you are hurting yourself. Slips happen, pick yourself up and start again. There is no judgement, we are very supportive of each other.
As with all of our challenges, everyone is welcomed. For some making the commitment for the four week challenge is the way to go. For others, one day at a time is the way to go. No one will be cut from the challenge. And feel free to post to the board even if you choose not to commit to the challenge. But you might want to ask yourself why.
June 1 - June 7: What is your PREAMBLE (your intention for the challenge?)
June 8 - June 14: What are your BIll of RIghts as a Weight Watcher? (the right to eat fruit, the right to exercise, the right to feel good about yourself, etc.)
June 15 - June 21: What is your pursuit of Hapiness?
June 22 - June 28: What does Freedom mean to you by working this life plan?
June 29 - July 4: Get ready for your own fireworks to happen by declaring your Truths!
Kick the tyranny of alcohol and a few extra pounds aside as we celebrate THINDEPENDENCE.

Hi friends, Been out running errands, of course that's when the delivery guy came with the washer/dryer...They said after one and came around 12 I guess. They will come back this afternoon. Also got some sorting done in the craft room and got the other computer set up so we can now use the printer. Baby steps for sure. No other big news, better eating yesterday, got over 12,000 steps...that's the biggest help for me right now. Hope you all have a great Hump Day!!
GG yay for the scale going down. Sorry about the Pup. When we sold our Ca. house, we had to sign a disclosure about ever burying a pet in the yard!!
Amy Yay for the blue dot, not for the no lunch!!! Hope your permits come soon.
Carole The cabin is in Upper Michigan. Cool here today, rainy. Hope it doesn't mess up or trip tomorrow.
Later all. Jan

Hello friends! I rode a pretty quick 20 miles today! I do remember when that was a pretty long distance for me. Tomorrow is 50 miles! I hope it doesn't rain.
Amy, the totd was special to me. Today I was wondering why I'm here---or what I'm good at. I'm not a good housekeepet, not the best wife, try at being a good mom but have screwed that up royally a few times and my job is folding towels. Anyway, thank you.
Gg, I have to go back to read but I'm sorry abut your dog.
Jan, our old house was a pet cemetary! Did the owners want that signed or is that a CA thing?

Hi Everyone!
Been trying to get stuff done but have had interruptions that just get me off track.
I just deleted my post because I just sound looney....short version....DH's alleged half sister has done Ancestry.com. People aka relatives are coming out of the woodwork and making statements that are not true. Nothing serious, just probably trying to make themselves sound important. We are doing our best to ignore, block, delete, return mail. There appears to be a domino affect of how to reach people. I won't answer my phone unless I know the number. I still sound looney so I will stop.
BIL is coming tomorrow night to stay over and hit the road on Friday morning He is working with his sister and her husband. They have a PAC and he is doing a variety of stuff for them. He is driving from TX to NC, about 1500 miles....so we are the first third stop. As long as it is only one night I can handle it. He was here twice during May. I really don't think he can continue driving back and forth and will have to switch to flying. DS will be here so he and I can switch off listening to him.
A friend of ours took a bad fall at his condo. He does not know how long he was out but ended up with 32 stitches by his hairline. He now has a staph infection. Four years ago his funeral was being planned due to blood cancer. He is such a nice man, a dear friend of DH's.
Amy, I needed to hear the QOTD. Yay for the blue dot. Hope you were able to have lunch today. Are you completely gutting the bathroom?
GG, how are you feeling? I need to go back and read but sounds like you are seeing your doctors and taking good care of yourself.
Jan, loving the photos on FB. Good job getting in the steps. I spent Monday waiting for a water tank technician and a A/C technician to come. The water tank technician was on time and was able to fix the problem to keep the tank going a bit longer. The A/C tech was late but i feel sorry for anyone without A/C with our 100 degree heat so they took precedent. At least he called. He finally got here and luckily I only needed 1.5 pounds of freon....$150.00. Hope your washer/dryer are installed! Baby steps are good!
Carole, when is your bike trip? Loved the photo of your tent! Hope all is well!
Barb, where are you? I guess I need to go back and read posts but I miss your post.
Going to watch the GSW/Cavs game....go GSW!! I guess I should think of something for dinner as well. Though at this point I think an Atkins shake will suffice.
Hugs to all, Cindy
