Welcome to our 2018 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

NEW CHALLENGE! Declaration of Independence from Alcohol June 1 - July 4
Freedom from alcohol? Does that make sense to you? Are you held hostage to it, use it to calm yourself, to forget what is going on, to get through the evening or even the day? What once was an enjoyable treat has become a daily necessity? Then it is time to take a stand and declare yourself independent. It isn't easy, if it was there would be no need for the support of this board. But together we stand and together we can fight it.
Think about the freedom from alcohol. It isn't just about the money, but it is about your health and well-being.
How is your Pursuit of Happiness being affected by alcohol?
The focus of this board is to be ALCOHOL FREE. The focus of our new challenge is be alcohol free from June 1 - July 4, one day at a time. Starting June 15 and ending July 4, we are challenging ourselves to make the right choices, and go alcohol free. Can you let yourself be the person you want to be? Can you reach out for help if need be? The rules are simple, no alcohol for the challenge (understanding for a very special occasion is given). Post your stats daily, it is an essential component to success. One misstep does not mean throw away the day, the night, the week. We are works in progress.
This is a challenge about control....you are in control of what goes in your mouth. Give yourself the gift of THINDEPENDENCE and be selfish if that is what is needed to take care of you!
If you slip, post to the board and find some understanding. If you slip and report you are AF, you are not hurting us, you are hurting yourself. Slips happen, pick yourself up and start again. There is no judgement, we are very supportive of each other.
As with all of our challenges, everyone is welcomed. For some making the commitment for the four week challenge is the way to go. For others, one day at a time is the way to go. No one will be cut from the challenge. And feel free to post to the board even if you choose not to commit to the challenge. But you might want to ask yourself why.
June 1 - June 7: What is your PREAMBLE (your intention for the challenge?)
June 8 - June 14: What are your BIll of RIghts as a Weight Watcher? (the right to eat fruit, the right to exercise, the right to feel good about yourself, etc.)
June 15 - June 21: What is your pursuit of Hapiness?
June 22 - June 28: What does Freedom mean to you by working this life plan?
June 29 - July 4: Get ready for your own fireworks to happen by declaring your Truths!
Kick the tyranny of alcohol and a few extra pounds aside as we celebrate THINDEPENDENCE.

No blue dot yesterday. Otherwise I had a good day.
We are gutting DD's bathroom. The master and the half bath are just getting new counters, sinks, faucets, mirrors, and lights. Still shopping for some of the stuff.
Glad yesterday's QOTD spoke to you.

Good morning, I plan to make it a good one, both eating wise and having some fun. We're going to Devil'e Lake to go camping, but we really rented their Tipi to sleep in so less to pack and bring...we'll see if it qualifies as glamping will depend on the bugs!! Only taking food that is OP and will stay out of any treats DH brings. I don't want another gain on Saturday...we'll see. Washer and dryer did arrive but they couldn't install them right now. Need new dryer hose/lint thing and they had their washer just drain in the basement floor? or something, we want to hook it up where there is a sink down there so need to call a plumber. They look pretty though!! ha ha We had another contractor come to look at the kitchen. Seems like a great guy and will help open things up and yet keep the feel of the older house. Going to be a lot of construction around here at some point. Keeps it interesting! Hope you all have a great day and find time to "smell the flowers". Hugs, Jan Amy It gets overwhelming picking out all new hardware, flooring, etc. Good luck with your project!! Post pics when it gets started. GG Good luck on your long day. yay for making your Dr's appt. At some point we need to get signed up for insurance here and look for all new providers....not looking forward to that! Carole Hope you get your ride in, 50 miles sounds like a long way!!! The pet thing is a CA thing, there were tons of disclosures, so much more paperwork than buying here. Thinking of our purpose is often a tough one...especially when the kids don't need as much care/support so "mom" becomes less of our job. You are a good friend, daughter, support system to many....taking care of yourself is important too. Hugs Cindy You just sound like there is always a lot on your plate and you do your best not to get twisted up in it. Glad your systems got fixed, there's always something right? Now we wait for a new dishwasher, plumber, concrete.......time for me to just escape to the cabin and hide out for a few weeks Barb, Liz, all, missing you. Hope all is well.

Hi All!
BIL texted me at about 3 pm to say he was going to come tomorrow. It is nice to have the reprieve but then it messes with Saturday morning plus the game tomorrow tonight....you can tell my priorities! He is planning to be away from his home for a month (again) to work for his BIL who I guess is also mine by marriage. Just have to deal. At least Ainsley has not retreated to my bedroom....she will not stay in the same room as BIL. I am not sure that he knows we have a cat.
DS stopped at the store for me and brought home an eggplant plant, a crooked squash plant, and a watermelon plant, oh and the groceries. He plans to dig out a space for them this weekend. We have had cantaloupes growing the past two years from seeds that blew into our yard. Hope springs eternal.
We had another strong wind storm with rain....got everything under cover before it hit but I really wonder if any of my plants are going to survive, though suddenly I have more lilies coming up!
Amy, I would love to gut the bathrooms! But once I started I would want to gut the kitchen. Gotta stay away from watching Property Bros!
GG, glad you have the appointment with the Ortho doctor.....are you thinking you need a shot or something more?
Barb, should we send out a search party?
Jan, I love the name of the camp...Devil's Lake. I am not sure a teepee would be enough for me to qualify as Glamping. Struck me as strange having the washer drain in the basement floor...I guess a plumber could tell where it goes from there., septic system?? Made me check on mine! Look forward to seeing photos of the changes in your home. A reprieve at the cabin sounds wonderful!
Carole, 51 miles! Congrats. My favorite local news anchor did an 86 mile ride last Saturday for a charity....it was a 100 degrees. Hugs to you.
Wishing everyone a great evening and a great tomorrow! Hugs, Cindy
