Hi, Today started with a load of laundry and then I headed to the gym. I have been such a slug the last 5 days, lots of steps but nothing else. So body pump done, healthy lunch consisted of a turkey lettuce wrap and cherries. I will be paying for the wine, beer and chocolate mousse, yes we went back for more, last week. It was all so worth it.
I am excited to hear what everyone is doing this weekend. Debbie

Good morning.
Today is the Walk With Mitchell event my Rotary club is putting on. It's done in coordination with the local animal shelter where you can rent a dog to walk with if you don't have one! So, of course, it's raining.
Tonight, I think we're meeting a friend for dinner.
I got to see a guy who was staring into his phone walk right into a parked car yesterday. That. Was. Awesome.

Happy weekend,
Thanks for starting us, Debbie. I'm glad that the drunk young men were entertaining and that they didn't cross the line to obnoxious. Our insurance pays for some of the $ for my glasses, the problem is that my correction is horrific. Add bifocals to that and it just gets pricier. So, I don't get new glasses all that often, fun though it is. Hah, getting lots of steps in is not being a slug, girlfriend, but I know you missed the gym. I admire your dedication to strength training. That is the part of my fitness routine that I find hardest to get motivated to do.
Hi Vicki, I haven't heard the details about how my friend got injured. She got moved from ICU to a regular room yesterday afternoon, and after an MRI this morning the news is that she should get discharged today. She wants to go home but will probably be at her daughter's for a few days, as she will need help because of her injured wrists. I hope the bats exit soon and that you can get your house, life and laundry routine life back to normal.
Hi Lou, sorry that it rained on the dog walk event. That sounds like a fun time, other than the rain. OMG, I would not know whether to be horrified or amused at the guy who walked into the car. I hope that only his pride was hurt and that he learned a lesson. I almost had a head-on collision in the hallway with a co-worker on Thursday afternoon. The guy was walking right down the middle of the hall, looking at his phone and not paying the least bit of attention to his surroundings. My "excuse me?" got his attention and he apologized. Dude, go sit at your desk and look at your phone, 'k?
Today started with a hot, sweaty walk. It was so humid and sticky. BWF was really feeling it. We had breakfast after our walk and then I went over to DS' for a bit. It is unusual for him to have a Saturday off, but he has been filling in for an ill co-worker so his days off have been adjusted for now. DH and I will go to dinner later. I need to get some more things done around the house, but other than walking this morning I have mostly been relaxing. Hopefully we can FaceTime with the FL family tomorrow.
Waving hi to Brenda and Lori, and hoping that you are both doing well.
Take care, Ginia

Good morning, Virginia - I have progressive bifocals also, DH had a great time teasing me when I had to get them at 40, as if turning 40 wasn't a big enough strike. Now at 63 that seems so silly. I hope you had a tasty dinner with DH. I am so happy to hear your friend is doing better, it sounded like such a horrible injury with months in the hospital. I do not like humidity. I am not used to it.
We tried using the a/c yesterday and our flat just got hotter and hotter. Ted has sent a email to the owner. Today is overcast and not hot yet. We were going to go for a bike ride but not sure with the sky so cloudy. I braved the scale this morning, only up .4 and still until the new goal. CBL Debbie

Ginia What great news about your friend! I hope her wrists heal quickly so that she will have full use of her hands. I not sure I'll ever fully recover from the bat situation. I still jump at every noise and shadow.
Debbie I also dislike humidity and we get lots of it in NJ. I hope the landlord gets the AC working ASAP.
Getting ready to leave for the park. AJ will get here around 1 and spend the night. I've been up since 3:30. Guess tonight we will be singing Grouchy Nanny, Grouchy Nanny. 😉

Louis Sorry about the rain. I got a chuckle out of the guy walking into the pole. I once tripped while looking at my phone and running. Big black eye. Learned my lession. I got to the park an hour ago with no prediction of rain. 2 mIles out the prediction changed to rain in 17 minutes. I did make it back to my car for my umbrella so I can continue my walk.

Hello,
Thanks for the Sunday start, Debbie. I got lucky with bifocals and didn't really need them till later in my 40s. I hope that your A/C gets fixed soon. That would be miserable to do without it. We had some days last week where the humidity was low and the temps were nice, but that was only a short reprieve. The humidity and high temps are back, so the A/C is here to stay for awhile. Thank you, I am also really glad that my friend's outlook is much more positive than was first thought.
Hi Vicki, thanks...I am also hoping that my friend's wrists heal soon. Her DD sent us a pic, and they were wrapped rather than in casts. I hope that means that the breaks are anticipated to heal quickly. Way to dodge the rain this morning on your walk! I keep the cheapie disposable ponchos in my car just in case of rain on walks. Uh oh, hopefully you won't have to sing the Grouchy Nanny song. Enjoy the park and the time with AJ.
Today was WATP first thing, it's been a day around the house so far. Will head to run errands in a bit.
Waving hi to Brenda, Lou and Lori. Hope you are all doing well.
Take care, Ginia

Hi, folks. I'm back at the outlet mall today because Cecilia hates me. Officially, this is a quick trip to return a pair of shoes I bought. Unofficially, we've been wandering in and out of every other store in the known universe looking for a unicorn pair of pants. Wires got crossed yesterday at the event and the shelter dogs no-showed. So, I had nobody to walk with. If I'm already walking and the rain starts, I just get wet. I *hate* carrying things like umbrellas. That's a good sign that your friend isn't encased in plaster, Virginia. I hope your A/C gets fixed soon, Debbie.
