Good Morning, Angels:
Hope you are all having a peaceful start to your weekend. Its so quiet here I can almost here the snowflakes hitting the ground. Its a light snowfall and I am hopeful it remains that way.
Carol: I'm in Ithaca; not too far away from you. Do you get lake effect snow from either Erie or Ontario? Or does it tend to blow right past you, hitting the unlucky population of Buffalo (Erie) and the "north country" (Ontario). Do you own the Expresso bike? If so, wow! Lucky you! I love them, although I do wish they'd add some new courses. That'd be a fun job - being the computer graphics person that got to create the courses. Wish I had that talent! What's your favorite course?
Pat: Your recipe sounds great. Would you share more details (ingredients/approximate quantities)? I'm not much of a cook so I can't "wing it" very well.
DH and I are attending a demo/training at our gym for the Octagon (a large piece of equipment that trains for functional fitness). We've used it numerous times but we'll really benefit from the demo. And our favorite trainer is doing the training!
Daily Affirmation: I can do anything for 15 minutes. (I, too, like this one!) Fitness Goal: Training for an hour on the Octagon. Health Goal: Treat my body as well as it is treating me. Gratitude: For DH, who has been so supportive of my angst these last few months while dealing with health issues.

I cannot tell you how inspiring you girls are, especially when I've been slacking big time in the w/o dept. I am going to follow through today! I can do anything for 15 minutes!!!!!!!! Love that one, and so true.
Pat, I love your style of cooking. I find it challenging and fun to try new things in the kitchen, I've got some canned pumpkin to use up, I think I'll try the same next week.
Last night I hosted craft night and made a Tuscan White Bean and Kale Soup that was amazing!!!!! So glad DH and DS were not home so I have leftovers.
Carol, I agree with Pat, you look so athletic. Maybe I should change my avatar to an athletic photo to get me on the right track.
We've got a fundraiser tonight, so there will be dancing for sure, and we can also practice our swing and foxtrot.

Daily Affirmation - My actions are aligned with my goals
Fitness Goal - feed my Fitbit
Health Goal - healthy food choices, keep within daily points + activity points above 3
Gratitude - my sweetie, who accepts me as I am
Pat - the meat sauce w/pumpkin sounded great…I may just try that:) I have used pumpkin in chili, also tasty and a great way to stretch your chili if you don’t have much meat (squash + beans= protein)
Suzanne - I wish I owned an Expresso bike…way out of my price range….I use them at the Y. I like the shorter courses, in case I need a break in between, LOL. I like Evening Bliss, which looks a lot like an actual route I have biked around Sodus Bay, just a shorter version of it. I have done some of the monthly challenges that had lots of killer hills…but I don’t always have time to do the longer courses…and I’m not, shall we say, at the top of the boards. I remember one year coming in on New Year’s Eve to do the last course in a December challenge, and it felt like forever, LOL.
Lisa - are you the one taking dancing lessons? Ballroom? Cool! I wish my sweetie could dance with me. We actually met at English Contradancing years ago. But now he has health issues that prevent this. So, I do my Tap and Jazz. It is such a fun way to exercise!

Good morning all and Happy Sunday. I didn't feel so great yesterday, so skipped my meeting and slept in. Guess I just needed some down time.
Suzanne I love your new avatar. Hoping your snow remained soft and silent. My Dad's family is from Troy. I am jealous of your gym, it sounds so comprehensive!
Whoops DH just woke up, I've got to run.
Daily Affirmation - I will think positively today.

Good Sunday Morning!
Its snowing here but not sticking to the pavement. I don't think we're supposed to see any accumulation.
Carol: Yes! Those Expresso bikes are very expensive. Too bad. It'd be fun to have one. I could stack it on top of my treadmill I don't use. Next to the Bowflex that goes unused.
Pat: I hope you're feeling better today. It is that time of year. (Every time I touch something at the gym, I think about this. Eeee-ew.) Maybe our Y is pretty nice? I have no basis for comparison. We are lucky that the Y does get support from local companies. The "Octagon" was donated thru a contribution from Borg-Warner.
The "Octagon" training was sensational. I've got lots more exercises up my sleeve, using the Octagon. There were only 4 people in the class so that was great. Prior to an actual workout, the trainer gave us a detailed explanation of "functional fitness" versus exercises that isolate one or two muscles only. I'd heard it when I had trained with him before but this workshop reinforced a lot. Maybe my body will be ready for garden season when it comes around!

DH and I just watched this:
The TV show “60 Minutes Sports,” which airs on CBS's sister network, SHOWTIME, highlighted Technogym, a world leading wellness company, and its President and Founder, Nerio Alessandri, in the premiere episode of the new year.
I would love to live in his town, which he is trying to create the largest 'Wellness Valley' in the world. Super cool!
The octagon looks impressive!
Suzanne, I have an ancient bowflex that I still use. I love to do legs, especially the adductor/abductors on it. I love how easy it is to fold up and it takes up only about 2 square feet.
Danced the night away last night, I am so tired today, haha! And my knees are speaking very loud!!
