We are safely at the beach house. Bobbie and Mac will be here tomorrow to bathe Jim. Tonight, Jim lost a filling in his tooth but thank God, it is a tooth that had a root canal so it is NOT hurting a lot. I have a call into his dentist so hopefully he will make room for Jim early Monday....before we head back to the ranch. In the meantime he can chew on the left. Sandy: One of these days we will meet. I have met Nancy a couple times already and I met her DH who is deceased, her brother and DSIL and even her DSon. I have been talking to Harriet since I think 2006...so, it is definitely time to meet. I feel like she is my DSis since I talk to her so much more often than I talk to my biological DSis. So, that is why we are both excited. I will take my IPad with me to be able to start the thread. I've decided to do it right before I go to bed. Since it is 3 hours earlier there than here, if I go to bed at 11 it would be only 8 here. Good timing..... Harriet: Last night I had 5 hrs. and 9 mins sleep.....I was up between 2 and 5 AM with eyes wide open. Annoying to say the least. If you need more of my info just let me know. I can text it to you or email -- whatever. Nancy: Having you DGGD with you reminded me that my 1st DGGS was born last night at 11:14 EST......William Robert Wadsworth and he was 7# 7 Oz. I have picture and he is so adorable. I won't see him when in VA because he lives in OH and they won't make the trip with him being just born. Glad you are having family fun...good for you. Let's get into our circle of wagons now and sing by the fire "WE CAN DO THIS, YES WE CAN...WE CAN LOSE NEW POUNDS...MY THIN FRIENDS!"

Good morning friends. I am up early, but had a good night's sleep. I was doing so well with the eating, but last night the sauteed shrimp had some type of seasonings on it which was delicious, but I am up a pound. I drank a fair amount of water, and my 6.5 hours of sleep attests to the fact I never got up, but the scales did. The server, while we were enjoying the end of our meal, spilled a whole shrimp cocktail down over me as she passed with her tray. What a mess. One would not think one little cup of cocktail sauce could spread so far.
We have some time before church, so I hope to get some collecting info here before we go, and also my posting.
Kathie, I expect all I need to have is your phone number and the address where you are staying and both of those are in my phone now. A new DGGS, how awesome. Sorry about Jim's tooth. If it isn't one thing, it is another. I am so glad you have someone to look after Jim so you can make the trip. I will start packing tomorrow. DSIL and DGS got checked in last night to the condo in Williamsburg, and DD and DGD will get there today. They went to a wedding yesterday in NC of oldest DGD's best friend. She was in the wedding. I will be happy when I know they are all there.
Nancy, keep the photos coming. That baby is so cute. I know you are having the best time. I am so enjoying all of my friends vacations as they share their photos. Sandy, have a good Sunday. I know you are enjoying Maija being back home and hearing all about her trip. Sending positive thoughts to all for a good Sunday.

Yes Kathie that will be on my bucket list to be sure we meet! Maybe Fred and I can come to California. My sister lives in Whittier but if I'm remembering right I think that's still pretty far from you? She's about 45 minutes east of LA.
Maija got home safely and was in such a wonderful mood until Debbie shared with her that Jeff is accusing Debbie of preventing Maija from being in touch with him. Maija said but that's not true and Debbie said I know that but that's what the accusation is so please start responding to his texts and also the court might order you to spend one on one time with him more than you do now. Well that caused a major meltdown and she said fine if I have to but in a few months when I turn 18 it's over and I will never have anything to do with him again. We're hoping that after Debbie's attorney meets with the judge and gives him the full story including the criminal case he will see how traumatic forcing her to see her Dad alone would be and might not make her do it. But Debbie didn't tell her that as she didn't want to get her hopes up. But she did tell Debbie if he's going to force her seeing him he will be the one setting the time and the planned Friday lunches will not be happening. She's also questioning if she should keep seeing Sam as what if he turns out to be just fooling her with his kindness and becomes just like Jeff. Debbie reassured her Sam is not and will not be like Jeff as she had warning signs of what Jeff could be like and ignored them and that Sam is more like her grandpa Fred. I hope she can believe that as if that relationship gets ruined because of Jeff this could set her up for never trusting men ever.
Nancy when you said you were at Lake Geneva was that in Wisconsin? I ask because that's where our family reunion is going to be July 20-21. Of course all the time is booked but I was curious as to how close you are.

Hi everyone thanks for the start Kathie. WOW! What a thing to happen right before you leave. I sure hope the dentist can see Jim on Monday. Congrats on the new GGS!
Our day at Summerfest was just too hot. We came home early and didn't enjoy the concert. I did get 20000 steps in and drank a lot of water but did sweat a lot. We ate at Saz's dockside. I had a great salad. It was to hot for me to try the ribs. Today we went to church, walked at the mall and shopped for groceries. We're having bratwrust, corn on the cob, loaded Wisconsin potato salad and cruller bites for dessert. We may go to the wading pool. We are under a tornado watch till 7.
Harriet I hope you got a free meal after the cocktail sauce spill. Thanks for your good wishes. Have a fantastic trip.
Sandy sure hope that Jeff does not turn Maija against the male sex. She has a lot to think about. Yes, our boat trip was on Lake Geneva. The is less than an hour away from us. We have gone there often starting with camping with the children at Big Foot State Park 2 miles from downtown Geneva. It's great place to vacation. We went to an Elderhostel there at William's and Mary college out of Chicago and that got us interested in hiking the lake path. We did it twice after we joined the hiking club. You won't believe all the mansions on the lake. You must take one of the narrated boat trips. The one to Black point is a little stressful and you have to be a good walker. I know you will enjoy your trip there.
Hugs and blessings to us all! See you in the morning

Nancy Fred's parents owned a cottage in Williams Bay so have done the mailboat twice but they also took us on many rides in their boat and his Dad would play a recording of all the mansions histories. So we went there for many years until his mother had to sell it when she went into a retirement home. Now his sister has a home there and that's where she has all the family reunions now. I did enjoy it for many years but not so much anymore but the reason I asked was I wondered how close you are to it.
Bailey was so funny when we dropped her off at grooming this morning as there was a Great Pyrenees/Australian mix ahead of her and she hid behind Fred. This other dog was so friendly and when it saw Bailey she's so little it didn't know if he needed to herd her or if she was a critter he needed to get rid of! Then as Bailey was backing up the door opened and in came a very active golden doodle pup and so she was caught in the middle and starting to panic but then here came her groomer and she said hey little momma looks like I need to rescue you! Bailey practically raced to her as though saying yes you are my friend get me out of here!
