Marm, I'll try that. I thought the thorns would keep the deer away. And I've had that rose bush for quite a few years and they never bothered it before but don't know what else it could be but a deer because it was fine just day before yesterday with one fully opened rose and a very nice bud that was about to open.Thanks for the advice.The rhubarb is right there too and they didn't bother that. Guess they don't like rhubarb.I know they like tomatoes so they'd better stay away from my plants. The rose though is at the side of the house and the tomatoes are really close and they don't like to come that close. I've never seen one of the antelope come that close to the house even where the rose bush is so it's gotta be a deer
