DH started a 4 pound beef roast in the crockpot at 1:15 pm on high. It has been cooking for about three hours. Do you have a suggestion on how much longer it need to cook? Does it need to be turned down on low? TIA

Most beef recipes say 4 to 6 hours on high. I don't think the size makes a difference.

This was all DH's doing. He paid almost $19 for this boneless roast. I would never have bought this type or paid this much!! I was just trying to ensure that it turned out okay. He even cut off the layer of fat it had on it. It is a beef boneless eye of round roast. He chopped an onion, about six small potatoes and a bunches of carrots with beef broth. So has a lot of veggies. He cooked it 3 1/4 hours on high and 2 1/2 hours on medium. The roast was cooked at about 150 degree using the meat thermometer. The meat was okay but potatoes and carrots had to be zapped in microwave to finish cooking.

Whenever we have eye round roast, we do it in the oven til medium rare at most. Then slice thinly using a meat slicer. Serve with au jus.
I didn't say anything yesterday because you already had it in the crock pot. Sounds like you made it work!
They can be pricey so we usually get them when they're BOGO free.
