TOOT, TOOT! CHUG, CHUG, CHUG! Here comes the Train to Thinsville down the track and into your station, so hop on board and enjoy the ride.
This morning we had a low of 80º and going up to 92º and partly cloudy with scattered showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon and winds E 5-10 mph.
I didn’t go to church yesterday because Rachael wasn’t feeling well, and I stayed home with her. We just enjoyed a quiet afternoon after the others came home. She still isn’t feeling good this morning, so MJ is going to see if she can get her in to see the doctor today.
Late in the afternoon our Landlord and Landlady came and continued working on the new walk and it looks much safer to walk on. I don’t think they are quite finished with it yet. They were talking about adding a railing.
We still need to do the changes of address and set up a bank account here, so we aren’t doing everything long distance. Maybe we can get that done today.

Good morning Doris & ATF,
Sunny today. Currently 84; the high will be 94. This is day 3 of our heat wave and more to come.
Frankie & Vinny's party was fun. We had a nice time. DD always bakes their cakes but this time being it was so hot she bought one. It was a good idea.
I'm going to go do some food shopping today and make sure I get some summer fruits. Then I have to clean the top of my stove as PSE&G is coming tomorrow to change my gas meter in the basement. Then they need to check out all the gas appliances (dryer & stove). The hot water tank and furnace are in the basement.
Have a great day everyone!

Emily,
I'm glad Frankie and Vinny had a fun party in spite of the heat. It seems to be hot all over right now.
I guess one good thing about having the meter changed is that you have to clean everything before they come so everything should look good.

Hi!
It is going to be 96º later, they are saying now! Already 89º. Sigh...
Doris, I'm sorry you had to miss church and lunch out yesterday. Hope Rachael feels better quickly.
Emily, I'm glad your boys had a good birthday party. They are really growing up!
This morning I got my nails done and that always makes me feel good. Then we picked up our grocery order. Now, I have a loaf of bread started in my machine, so I'm ready to relax.
The rest of the day will be our usual quiet day. I will continue cleaning out the hall closet (started Saturday) and start putting my next little room together. I try to do something just for fun every day.
Prayers and hugs! Diane

Hope Rachael feels better today.
Did run to the grocery store for just a few things. See there are melon and plums at the roadside stand. I dont like the Pa Home grown melons. don't think they have any taste to them. So I passed up the stand today, strawberries all done but do have corn on the cob. May get some tomorrow for DGD. Will see what she says. Now the tomatoes looked good.!!
It is very hot and at home with all the grass and shade trees it is not too bad but those black top parking lots are awful. Do need to go to Peebles a bit later to return DGSs dress shirt. keep forgetting to do that. Plus has a $15 rewards certificate need to use today bet I can find a top!!

I hope that Rachael does not have that digestive problem again. Stay well, sweet girl. I wonder what your boardwalk looks like. Reminds me of the old song, "Under the boardwalk"
Yesterday I took Abel to Amegos to pick up his schedule and this time I walked in with him and as I said yesterday it still wasn't ready. The number we were given didn't produce any results and his friend told him to call the CEO himself. Last night before going to bed I went to the Haiti computer and just emailed him, the CEO, myself. This morning he responded and said for some reason Abel (by the way he remembered Abel) fell through the cracks and this week he's out of town. (I think this may be the week he was doing mission work in Haiti) But to come back next week and start again. We were all frustrated with this but after talking to Abel this morning about it, he said that may work out better for him because he has two scheduled camps and workshops for school yet this summer. So he thought he could talk to them about getting a job closer to where he lives at that would work out better and he could get there more easily when school starts. I like how that kid thinks!!
I went to the Y this morning and Dave went with me and then we both picked up Tim and Megan and then dropped Tim off at his friend's house.
Do the girls know where they are going to school in the fall, Doris?

hi riders, I have been down in my playpen. meant to clean it up.instead package some patterns and the fabric for them together. then started sewing.
helen I think abel should look for another place to work.seems like amigo's is just stringing him along.he would be an asset to any place he works. I have only met him once and that kid is going to be a great adult.
doris I hope the girls get treated better at schools this time then they did before you moved. hope racheal is feeling bettr. phyl

Helen,
MJ thought Rachael might have strep because her throat is very sore and she is talking in a whisper. They are at the doctor's office right now so I hope they come home with an answer.
Right now we don't know where the girls will be going to school.
It sounds like Abel won't be disappointed if Amigos doesn't work out for him. With two camps and workshops already planned that may keep him busy.

Connie,
Some of those roadside stands have good things, especially vegetables like corn and beans.
With it so hot outside I'm happy to just stay home.

Phyl,
I'm sure you had more fun sewing in your playpen instead of cleaning it.
It looks like Abel had the same idea you did, to look for another place to work.
