TOOT, TOOT! CHUG, CHUG, CHUG! Here comes the Train to Thinsville down the track and into your station, so hop on board and enjoy the ride.
This morning we had a low of 71º and going up to 93º partly cloudy with wind E 5-10 mph. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible.
As far as I know there are no special plans for today, so we’ll just wait and see what comes up.
Yesterday we enjoyed a quiet day at home. There were lots of activities downtown, but we decided to just stay home since Rachael still wasn’t feeling very good. At least she is eating again and that’s good. She still has a few days of medicine to take. I’m happy to say no one else has come down with it.
MJ, Hannah and Sarah went out to get some fireworks, like sparklers, for the girls and they set them off in the street in front of our house. We had MJ’s homemade chicken pot pie and blueberry cobbler for dessert and everything was delicious.
We still need to do the changes of address and set up a bank account here, so we aren’t doing everything long distance.

Good morning!
It is 77º right now, and will be 93º later this afternoon. We will, of course be in our a/c. Today our DGD3 (9 the 23rd) is with us for the day.
Last night was one of those nights. I couldn't go to sleep till after 12:00 because I had dozed off in front of the tv at 9:30 and slept for about 20 minutes. Actually, my mind would not relax. The fireworks continued till who knows when. This morning, I woke up to stay awake at 4:30. I think an afternoon nap will be in my plans.
Doris, do you all have your monopoly game to play? How are you spending your evenings?
Hope you have a happy day. Prayers and hugs for everyone!

Diane,
I'm sorry you didn't have a good night and I hope you will be able to sleep well tonight.
I wish we did have our Monopoly game but we don't. MJ bought a card game, UNO, for us so we do have one game to play. We still don't know where our things are that were shipped and it is really frustrating.
The girls have their I-pads to play on and MJ and I have our computers. I'm reading from my Kindle and MJ and the girls went to the library and got cards and checked out some books. I may go along with them next time and get a card too since I love to read.

Good morning Doris & ATF,
Partly cloudy today. Currently it is 81; the high for today will be 89.
I need to go to the store for a few items but really have no plans for today.

Emily,
We watched the Boston Pops program too and enjoyed it, but you're right that it isn't the same as live. I remember my Mom and Dad taking my sister and me to Soldier Field in Chicago for the 4th of July program and we loved it. Those are some nice memories to have.

Oh my! Doris I too have one memory from Soldier Field in Chicago. It's when I was in Chicago and went to a Martin Luther King Jr rally and then on one of his marches. Long long ago
Nowadays we stay closer to home so going across town to John's was a big trip. LOL DDIL invited so many people I didn't know them all and there were well over 25 people in and out. Matt and his friend Gunner had the fireworks and were entertaining the kids. Which isn't hard to do with fire. John made three batches of homemade ice cream and then took a bite of the last batch and discovered something was bad. They checked out the Egg Beaters and they bought them yesterday but were out of date and spoiled so they went back to the store and the gave them fresh Egg Beaters and they started all over again. At least there were a lot of young arms to grind. Mostly Abel and Tim did it. Others brought meat for the grill and salads and desserts. Megan made a red ( ) and blue cake, three layers using the patriotic colors for a special design on the top. All in all everyone had fun. It was extremely hot and humid. We left about 9:30 and as we were headed north a cold front blew in. Then after we got home it rained. We did see a lot of home displays on the way. It was almost spooky when we got home and there were firecraker boomers and thunder at the same time!
DD was with us over night and then left this morning and we went to pick up Matt's two youngest and Abel. The two boys made homemade pizza. Each making them into their own tastes and they smelled and looked delicious. Most is gone by now.
I am glad that no one else got that sore throat thing that Rachael had.

Helen,
It sounds like you had a great time with your family yesterday. 25 people would be quite a crowd. I hope it was just one batch of ice cream that was bad from the egg beaters being too old. The cake in red, white and blue must have been very pretty too.
I guess the boys had fun making their own pizzas today too.
