Ruth, Well you made it anyhow. Funny we didn't hear hardly anything go off yesterday. Last night some but that's it. But we've been to enough fireworks anyhow.
DD had an E mail to me this morning, she was off work yesterday. I had said to her worry about her in this heat. w/already had heat exhaustion, she said not to worry she has plenty of water and electrolytes. But they went to a parade they had of golf carts decorated and tossing out candy for the kids and water hoses spraying water. She said it was fun. Nice to do something for a change. Also painting on her bikes. You should see what she has done already. Looks like new and a designer for sure. Enjoy this day!!!

Good Morning Marm and LTMs,
This morning we had a low of 71º and going up to 93º partly cloudy with wind E 5-10 mph. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible.
As far as I know there are no special plans for today, so we’ll just wait and see what comes up.
Yesterday we enjoyed a quiet day at home. There were lots of activities downtown, but we decided to just stay home since Rachael still wasn’t feeling very good. At least she is eating again and that’s good. She still has a few days of medicine to take. I’m happy to say no one else has come down with it.
MJ, Hannah and Sarah went out to get some fireworks, like sparklers, for the girls and they set them off in the street in front of our house. We had MJ’s homemade chicken pot pie and blueberry cobbler for dessert and everything was delicious.
We still need to do the changes of address and set up a bank account here, so we aren’t doing everything long distance.

Hello, all LTMs,
I didn't make it here yesterday. By the time I was done all the "stuff", I had to get dinner ready, and after that, I was just too tired. BUT, I AM done, packed house cleaned, outside cleaned & mowed, and we solved a big problem for a neighbor who is a snowbird. His remote monitor for his a/c said it was running constantly, but it must have been an issue w/ the remote, because the a/c is functioning just fine. However, DH noticed his pool water level was low, and that one of the pipe fittings was leaking. He tightened it, but the system is still full of air. DH isn't sure what is causing it, and the neighbor has a pool service. They can figure it out Now, we checked the pool for another neighbor who is travelling in Alaska, and HIS pool has an issue, too. We can't solve that one, but I will text them to let them know & they can call THEIR contractor.
I went to WW this morning, down .4. I would have been down a full pound, but we have a new rule. You MUST wear shoes or socks, no paper towels as we have been using. Not sure what happened, but this came down from corporate. Since most of us wear sandals and weigh barefoot w/ a towel, it caused a LOT of consternation at the meeting. Add that to the computer problems and two subs as receptionists, WI took a LONG time! From there, I went to Beall's & spent my $20 in Beall's Bucks & my 25% off coupon. I got a new set of nice towels & a rug for the inside of the bedroom lanai door & a matching waterproof one for outside. Love them!
This will be my last post for at least 4 or 5 days. Doris, you are still in my prayers every day! I do hope your furniture shows up, and if it doesn't, that the movers are caught & arrested.
Take care everyone. Be safe & stay cool!
Rose Marie

Fireworks are illegal here except at large events and then only when certain conditions are met. One reason is the fire danger.
Rose Marie, have a great trip. Stop by and take me with you to INdy. My ds, ddil and their 8 children live there.
Marm, your dd is an amazing artist and very creative.Takes after her mother.
We have a few parades like that here with various people tossing candy to the kids. One is the Christmas parade and of course on that day it's always super cold. I guess the kids still love going to it but I bet the parents aren't real thrilled about it. I've never been to one.

My trip to my car dealer regarding the blinking battery light was all for nothing. Not really nothing, but it was only the battery with my key that needed changing. They replaced it with no charge and he offered to run it (car) through the car wash so my trip wouldn’t be all in vain. Wasn’t really dirty because of all the rain lately, but I did let them do it. It didn’t need any maintenance yet since I put so few miles on it. So all my worrying was for nothing and I wasted a morning. I did stop at Aldi’s on the way home. Now I’m home for the rest of the day.
Rose Marie, will someone be watching your house and pool while you are gone, like you’ve been doing for others? You might be finding the temps in IN just as hot or hotter than you have in FL. But it will be nice to see family again, including your DGGD? Have a good time.
Doris, when our kids were young, DH always bought sparklers and other simple fireworks that were allowed. MN was pretty restrictive on what you could do yourself. I think more kinds are allowed now. Of course organizations and/or cities have always put on big shows. I pray this is the week that you’ll get some moving problems settled!
Marm, your Dd has inherited your crafty skills, with painting a bike and more! I heard lots of fireworks going off in our area last night, but saw none except for the big show in Washington DC that was televised. I love watching that show every year. Then when over I switched to the Macy’s fireworks show for the last half hour.

Feels good to finally be home. Now I'm just sitting with my feet up for awhile. Busy morning as usual for Thursdays but even worse today. Started out with my computer having issues that I had to call the help desk. Fun with me being the only one there dealing with the help desk while people were coming in. Found out it was an update done overnight unbeknownst to me that only the help desk could finish when I called in. The tech came in to install our new printer which I was glad he was there in plenty of time to finish before closing. That is if everything went right which it didn't so I was there for almost an hour after closing which I wasn't very happy about. Finally the printer is up and running. Almost lunch time then by time we went to Village Inn for breakfast followed by HyVee after breakfast. Now to get some R&R before going back to work later.
Rose Marie, your location didn't read the directive very clearly since there's a grace period until the 15th before members can't use paper towels.
Mama deer was back again yesterday and yes, she's a mama. Her baby was with her. So cute! Wonder if there's more than the one.
Don't even get me started on fireworks. i love professional fireworks. It's the others that upset me like last night trying to sleep with them going off until all hours. They're illegal here for all the good having that law does if it's not enforced. Doesn't make any sense at all that it's legal to buy them, just not shooting them off in the city limits.

Well Mary, your trip wasn't a waste when you consider that you did get a new key battery and your mind is at ease now that you know what the problem is and that you don't need to worry about your car not starting. I didn't know that keys had batteries. I know that mine has somehting electronic because they told me that it costs a LOT for a new key if I lose one. It's great that they were honest and didn't try to do things that weren't needed. What kind of car do you have. I remember when you bought that car but don't remember what kind it is.
They don't even allow sparklers here and don't sell them here either. If anyone wants any they have to drive quite a ways to buy them. It's still in this state but at least 50 miles away.
Yes I see on the weather channel that it's hotter in Indiana than in Florida.

Gareth, I don't know why people get so excited about having to wear shoes to weigh. Yes the first week they might be up a little from the weight of the shoes but from then on they can just wear the same shoes each week or bring them to change into before weighing and there will be no problem. What I really didn't get was when people weighed with shoes and on a week when they wanted to show a bigger loss they would take their shoes off....what did that prove? The loss wasn't body weight, wasn't fat, wasn't anything but the weight of their shoes!!!

Ruth, you are right and I am thankful that my car itself is in good shape. It is a 2016 Honda Fit, the smallest Honda model I think. When we bought it, DH agreed to buy their maintenance plan that cost over $800 alone. It covers all the maintenance for 4 years, but with me not driving it that much, and not needing as many oil changes, etc., I wish we hadn’t spent that. Maybe I should consider it insurance. I know now that DH was doing it for me. It’s a large dealer and DH always trusted them and I do too. My biggest complaint is that it is almost 9 miles away and I need to drive on one of the freeways, that I usually try to avoid, to get there. When I was younger it didn’t bother me. One DD went with me last time, but today I went alone with no problem. I just don’t do it very often and get out of practice. There are a lot of illegal fireworks shot off by many people here. I haven’t heard of any accidents from last night on the news yet today.

Doris, Sounds like R is feeling better every day. Pray you hear something soon on your furniture? We used to buy sparklers for our kids to. Rose Marie*, Ah ST*R for you. Good job! Good thing you guys was still home to know about neighbors problems w/things. Safe trip! Stay Safe~ Hear form in few days then. Ruth, We never go to the parades anymore. did a few yrs. back when DS was the one built the barn for it. He worked at Tysons, always ask him to do about anything. that was one of the. But he loved it. I know some mentioned that new rule was to wear shoes or socks, But not this week. Nothing was said to me as nor pointed out a sign. But I always have socks on anyhow. Many wear sandals this time of yr. But will be bringing socks to slip on or wear there shoes. Really that used to be anyhow, But guess got dropped somewhere. Mary, to it was good that went alone and able to get a trial run driving that way. and no problem w/it. Keeps you into it. And that nothing was wrong w/car. We bought our car when few yrs. old and still get free Oil Changes, and been good to us about many things not charged for. Gareth*, wow, I hate it when computer updates anything. Never know it will work right or not. Wonder why that is. Think it happens to often there to. "Awwwww' To cute. I would have loved to seen the Deer. Maybe you will from now on, Your so close to the wooded area, Guess none in the wooded area we lived when a kid. Never seen any, DB's ran into a skunk once, Ha,ha. Mom had to use a lot of here canned Tom. juice to them and the dogs. Sue, I'm thinking of you and that sleep study how it went? sure hope you was able to sleep ok. And hubby is alright to. Felt a lot better today. did get my hair cut and a stop @ WM ask to show me some on the new camera. The instructions is the pits. Also what shows on camera its self? , Like to look at pictures I had "Reveiw" on old on, This doesn't just this thing showing up shows nothing, And not like forward nor backward, Just these things making no heads or tails. Might be in some other language. We stopped had a bite to eat. That was our day. BBL~~ Marm~~

So Marm, are you saying that you bought a used car? Did you buy a maintenance plan for it or do they just give you free oil changes and all for nothing? If so I want to buy mine there. Anyplace I ever bought cars or trucks, whether new or used, if I wanted a maintenance plan I had to pay for it so decided it was cheaper to just pay for the oil changes since I'm like Mary and don't put many miles on my vehicles. Oil change sticker says come back in 3 months or 3000 miles whichever comes first. Well after 3 months I'm lucky if I have 300 miles..probably not even 100. Maybe after a year I might be up to 3000 if I took a trip somewhere.
Mary, people here do have illegal ones too. I could hear some last night and we usually see others in the sky when watching the official ones. I didn't watch last nights and then dd said it was the best one they've had since we moved here. Guess I should have watched.

Ruth, I guess it came w/the deal. Not sure if just a special or what. but we keep getting a things in mail time for free Oil change. when DH thinks time for it we take it in. this last one was the one he had to pay for. but we've had it for 6 yrs. and is 2006. OK DH just said we wasn't getting all oil changes free, but have a lot of them. But we bought the Van later is a 2008 and don't think any free'bs on Oils changes on it. but its not on he go "ALL THE TIME"".
Sleep well friends.. Marm~~
