The Mind☯Body☯Spirit connection emphasis is creating balance, wholeness, and coherence in our lives. It acknowledges that how we think, what we feel, and what we believe create the life we live and the world around us.
Let's get started! We'll post:

Goooooooood MORNING! ☼Lisa, good to hear you feel back in the groove! I'm "feeling groovey" too, back in my strength training frame of mind. Suzanne wow the Octagon is impressive, I'm seeing the ropes, heavy bag, truck tires, etc. Daily Affirmation - I'm in the groove and I want to move. Fitness Report - a nice walk outdoors in the chilly air, some Pilates for lower body and Margaret Richard for biceps and triceps. Health Goal - lunch walk, hand weights in office and PT tonight. Gratitude - groovin' man Good morning to all!

I received this from fitness instructor Kathy Smith in my email this morning and thought it might be of interest:
Reprogramming for Success
Here's a simple solution to take back control of your daily thoughts..It's a profound technique that allows your brain to literally re-wire itself to make more positive choices in your life.
In today's 20 minute visualization, Creating Your Own Success Timeline, you'll have the opportunity to uncover limiting thought patterns that are keeping you stuck... either professionally or personally.
Taking time to view your success timeline has many benefits, including....
1. Realizing the value of shifting negative thoughts toward positive ones.
2. Increasing your sense of purpose
3. Understanding how your response to events have shaped your personality (and not events themselves).
"Your story is powerful because your sense of self-worth lives in your storyline. Your thoughts and beliefs are powerful energies that can, and do, shape your emotional responses to past events in your life, and thus have fashioned your story. Based on your conclusions about your self and others around you, the interpretations of your past that you continue to hold in mind, wittingly or unwittingly, operate as perception filters that continue to powerfully impact your life today." - Athena Staik, Ph.D.
You might even notice that as you listen, you're becoming less and less concerned with your everyday life and more and more involved with the thoughts, the attitudes and beliefs that make you who you are...and ultimately will grant you success.

Good Morning, Angels:
Spring is only 50 days away!
Lisa, congratulations on your upcoming-grandmotherhood. So exciting! DH was using his bowflex for a long time but, since we have a membership to the Y, he seems more inclined to go there. Same could be said for my treadmill. I'm not sure I know the Bowflex abductors/adductors excercise. I'll have to ask DH (or google it). The A/A muscles is an area I focus on using barre exercises. I've also discovered more exercises using my fitness ball, which I acquired in November. Good exercises that use all kinds of muscle groups!
Pat: Thank you for sharing Kathy Smith. Not someone I am familiar with and now my curiosity is piqued (sp?). I'll have to look her up.
Today is Tai Chi class. I plan to go early and do some strength work. Tai Chi is wonderful for balance and some strength but I need more. I could work out on my fitness ball, too. That wears me out fast! I should also get back to Adrienne's Yoga. Jeepers! Not enough time in the day!
Waves to Anetta, Carol, Michelle, and Pam.
Daily Affirmation: Yes, I can. Fitness Goal: see above Health Goal: Have a healthy gardeners body by Spring Gratitude: the limitless resources available to me for fitness, mind, and spirit.

Wait a minute - I missed some really big news here! Lisa congratulations to you!!!! Suzanne, Kathy Smith makes home exercise DVDs. She was a runner and I believe a fitness model. Her daughter ran in the Olympics last summer, probably would have won if not for that rather manly woman in her meets. I've been working out at home with Kathy since the leg warmers and leotard days. www.kathysmith.com/ I obtained most of her DVDs from discount stores over the years. Enjoy your class today. Agreed - wish I had time in the day for all I need to do plus the various exercise I want to do!
