I'm looking for something to count steps- I do not have a fit bit and not planning on buying one. I'm not too keen on wearing something on my wrist- I don't wear a watch- sooooo any suggestions for something I can wear on my waistband or shoe? I wore one a LONG time ago but it died and I didn't get new battery and it's since been in file 13. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

mom2casey, I use one called OneTweak that I bought through Amazon. It clips on my waistband. I don't recall it being too expensive. I didn't want anything I had to sync up to the computer.

I have had great service from my Accusplit pedometer. This is the one I have used for about 8 years, with only one battery change: accusplit.com/products/ax2720mv-pedometer. They do have several cheaper versions. When I bought this one, I had tried several different cheap ones (other brands) that either didn't work or didn't last.

Welcome to the group. I'd have to buy a smart phone (yes, I'm a dinosaur & don't have one). Even if I did, I wouldn't have it attached to me at home so it'd be useless as a step counter. I do a lot of walking in my house so a pedometer is inexpensive & easy to use at all times.

fair enough, being a man and always wearing pants it's easy to keep the phone in my pocket.
