Hello,
Happy Saturday and happy weekend to all. It was "only" a three day workweek for me, but it managed to be pretty hectic all the same. I think I still have 100+ e-mails to review and potentially act upon. It's annual review time, too, so things are crazy because of that.
I think I am caught up on the past few days' posts now, so here go the shoutouts.
Lou, you are so right about the uncle role. It is a sweet gig. I have had plenty of fun in the aunt role and still do at times with DSis' kids. Sorry that you had a day of meeting hell this past week. Nice that you had the F2F with the WW gang. I am happy that I have been able to meet up IRL with WW friends. Hopefully more meetings are in the future. Sorry about the delay getting home and missing the bargain on the K-cups. With the new peeps who moved into our office building, one of the new perks (ha!) was that we have a Keurig. I usually visit it once a day. I keep a stash of K-cups in my office now.
Brenda, yes...it was lots of driving last weekend for sure, especially on Sunday. I also hope that you will be a g'ma! I don't know if I will have the experience again or not. I hope that you are doing well. I am sure that you and your family are continuing to prop each other up.
Debbie, I also hope that Beth and I will be able to visit you in spring of 2020. You have done tons of walking and sightseeing this week. Are you feeling better? The museum would lose me with that detailed of an explanation, too. I am interested in art but I don't need to know THAT much about any particular piece.
Vicki, how are you? It's hard to believe that our local kids will be back to school in less than three weeks.
Lori, 27 bottles of wine and counting? Wow. Are you having them shipped or is Ivy packed to the gills with bottles of wine? How was the concert?
I decided that I was not setting an alarm for this morning. A friend's text message woke me at 6:20 so that was my alarm for the day. Once that woke me, I was up for the day. I did 5 mi WATP + resistance band w/o first thing, so FP status is green for today. I plan to do an outdoor walk from home tomorrow. We had storms blow through yesterday afternoon and evening so our temps have cooled. The predicted high temp for today is 84, tomorrow's is 80. I'm going to get some things done around the house before heading out to run errands. DH and I will have our customary Saturday evening dinner date later.
Waving hello to all and hoping you are all having a good weekend, Ginia

Hi, folks.
I turn off my phone every night, Virginia. My Garmin is my alarm in the morning, and if the phone were on, it'd buzz throughout the night with alerts. No thank you.
We're picking up my niece in a couple of hours and she'll stay the night with us. Was hoping to take her to a festival of some sort, but the sky looks angry. Given that she's a teenager, the only Plan B would involve shopping. π₯

Good morning Virginia - thanks for the weekend start. I only felt off for a day, I have to take motion sickness pills when I travel and they seem to be messing with me. So I feel bad the next day to avoid feeling bad the day before. I need to talk to the pharmacist here I think the pills are to strong. Sorry you were woken so early by phone noise. Vicki - hi, how's it going , I've been missing you. Louis - you can turn off phone alerts. How was shopping? I hope the weather clears up.
We are back in Valencia, 7 hours, two trains, one metro. I did my steps in but didn't eat clean. Today is a new day. I had a washer and DRYER in Bilbao so I washed clothes there. Today is back to hot and humid. Debbie

Good morning. Nice that you got to return home without having to deal with laundry, Debbie! We went to the carnival and Cecilia got her funnel cake fix for the year. She and Sophie also rode on a carousel. Then the rain came and we retreated to the mall. And Target. We finished up the evening with face masks.

Hi,
Lou, I am on call for work and the texts/calls are routed to my cell, so I can't really turn it off. I have it on silent and the notifications for texts or calls come through my Fitbit. I have all other alerts silenced. As it turns out, I was awakened by a work call this morning at 6:32. It should not have come to me and was triggered by an on-call analyst who either turned their phone off or didn't have it nearby. I tried to reach the analyst with no success, then got the issue sent to the proper manager to get addressed. Of course by that time I was fully awake. You, Cecilia and Sophie made a nice save once the weather put paid to your outdoor plans. That is a fun pic of the three of you with the masks.
Hi, Debbie. It's nice that you had the luxury of a dryer while you were away. I really like having access to full laundry facilities when I'm away from home. I can pack less and come home with more clean clothes. Sorry that the motion sickness meds messed with you. Hopefully you can get them adjusted so that they work as expected with no ill effects.
It was nice and breezy during my walk this morning. I took a 5 mile walk around the neighborhood. It was starting to sprinkle when I was nearing home so the timing was great. I ended up running an unexpected errand today to exchange a frozen grocery item that I purchased yesterday. It was a month + past the best by date. It's a good reminder to me to check the dates in the store.
I'm going to finish laundry and get ready for the workweek this evening. I seriously need to be in bed earlier tonight as I am still feeling a bit travel weary. The alarm will wake me earlier tomorrow than the phone has the past couple of days.
Waving hi to Brenda, Vicki and Lori...hope you are all doing well!
Take care, Ginia

Hi...
Looks like a fun time all around!
Debbie...you are so lucky to be exploring...your pictures are fantastic! I was thinking I wanted to travel to Spain...but after seeing Mamma Mia 2...now am thinking Greece!
Lou...how cute is that...did everyone have smooth skin in the end? Or smaller pores?
Virginia..I hate...really hate work calls...unfortunately..I get them all the time...I have been guiding the leadership team how to triage issues...for them to take care of before it reaches me..some weekends I get so many I hardly catch a break! One day on vacation..they called so many times...I purposely delayed calling them back so they could figure it out! Yes! Ivy carried us home and 41 bottles of wine too...!
Waving to the rest of the gang...
Wow what a week and weekend itβs been...I am a little sad to be going back to work tomorrow...I have been doing a little extra caregiving for my mom...she is doing poorly...it is breaking my heart a little...π
Take care.. Lori
