TOOT, TOOT! CHUG, CHUG, CHUG! Here comes the Train to Thinsville down the track and into your station, so hop on board and enjoy the ride.
This morning it was 65Âş and going up to 93Âş and sunny with light and variable winds.
I don’t know if there are any special plans for today, so I’ll just wait and see what comes up.
Yesterday DGS Jason came with his lawnmower and he and Hannah did the back yard and he worked on trimming the small amount of grass in the front yard with a weed eater. It was really hot and muggy, so they were glad to get that finished and have a bottle of water.
We found out that school starts quite a bit earlier here than in Nebraska, but we don’t know the exact date yet. I think MJ will be working on that today.

Good morning!
It is 79Âş this morning, and is to stay in the 80s today. This is a nice relief from the summer heat we have had. I do not do well when it is too hot or too cold. Age?
Jason is such a good guy to keep your grass trimmed. And Hannah is such a responsible girl, to not leave it all to him. You have such a nice family, Doris. How is MJ doing? Healthwise, I mean. I'm sure she is still going through a grieving process, but I pray for her health. Didn't they diagnose her with lupus?
Today we'll have a quiet day, too. No kids, no plans, no appointments -- oops, DH has PT this afternoon, but I will have none. Tomorrow will be busier. We'll have our retired teacher breakfast early in the morning, then later in the morning, DD will come over to explain a new program that our church will be hosting. I have been reading about it, but she went to the info meeting. Then in the afternoon, our DGS2 will have a performance to close out his weeks at theater camp. So we need to rest up today.
Have a happy day, everyone.

Hello, Doris & Train Riders!
Well, my feelings about furniture did turn out, but I was hoping for the others goodies!
There is a Brewers Festival here at the waterfront. Portland loves to party! 96 degrees will not stop the festivals. I did read that extra misting stations will be around to help folks cool off.
I will watch it on the news!
Banana pancakes for breakfast.
Have a good day!

Good morning Doris & ATF,
Cloudy today. Rain expected later in the day. Currently 75; the high will be 82.
Waiting for the "gang" to get here. Should arrive around 1pm. Will be fun but not totally because SIL will be here too. He is not doing well since his sister passed away. Doesn't want to be alone.
Have a great day everyone!

windows and doors open here today so far. High to be 84 today but not there yet and no humidity and hear my wind chimes so a little breeze. I did fill the finch feeder yesterday and lot of little yellow ones today. Also some wrens. I am planning on getting my beebee gun out to chase the squirrel off. Too little to use the box trap, he would wriggle out. Tired of him filling his cheeks with all the bird seed.
My new neighbor mowed this morning, he doesn't have much to do so that will be an easy job for him. the back yard is mostly in ground pool and cement pad all around it for lounge chairs etc. No flowers over there right now. Front porch is bare of all decorations and hanging plants. She had a lot of stuff she had bought at craft shows, all nice things but a lot of it. Looks nice. They left the chain for the porch swing so he must be planning on having one.
I was wondering how MJ was doing with her health also. We do worry.

Diane,
Its nice that you have a quiet day today since it sounds like tomorrow will be really busy for you.
Yes, MJ does have lupus but isn't on any medication for it. She has days where she aches or hurts but doesn't like the way the medicine makes her feel.
Jason has been a big help for us in a lot of ways. He is a very caring young man and when I thank him he says that's what families do for each other. DDIL obviously taught him well.

Cat,
With the temperature as high as you are having I think my option would be to just stay home and keep cool in the AC. I don't think misting stations would cool me off enough.
I think I'd pass on the banana pancakes. About the only way I like bananas is in banana bread. It is the texture of raw bananas that I don't like.

Emily,
I hope you have fun with the family tonight. I'm sorry that your SIL doesn't want to be alone since his sister died, so is coming along with the rest of the family.

Connie,
It sounds like you will have a perfect day today weather wise. Enjoy having the windows open and hearing the chimes. Its nice to be able to see the little yellow finches and wrens too. I guess you have to sit outside to be able to shoot at the squirrel. They sure can be pests.

That is a sweet thing for Jason to do. His mother taught him well. And that is what family does. I'm glad that MJ's lupus is okay without the meds.
Our school start in about 3 weeks. The summer went too fast.
We are having a nice weather week, only in the 70's and 80's. So today we have the two kids and soon we'll go to Baker's Chocolate in Greenwood, just a short distance. I'll be stopping by my Japanese friends' and she and her two girls will go too. The kids can pick out any candy within a limit. Haven't decided yet. $100/ea. LOL not that much.

Helen,
70s and 80s sounds nice for going out. Enjoy the trip to Baker's chocolate in Greenwood, something the moms and kids will enjoy. The Japanese family will enjoy it I'm sure. They make chocolate that is very much the same as what we get here in the States and we always enjoyed it there too.
