Morning All!
Hope everyone is well and doing something enjoyable today.
The cucumber salad turned out pretty well and was spot on the memory I had. I was worried using the Truvia in it, but couldn’t tell the difference.
Phyl good luck with your new dish washer. That appliance is the one that I figured would go before all the others. Its well over 20+ years old by now and even though I only use it once a week now, in it’s early years it was going every other day. I’m a bit concerned about replacing that one, because I had the kitchen remodeled after installing it and I am not sure how they will get it out when the time comes. Not going to worry about that now.
The washing machine came yesterday afternoon and it was pretty much no problem getting it in and installing it. They were done in 20 minutes and I had 2 washes done by dinner time. I have a few more to do today, but it runs pretty much the same as the old. It is a bit sensitive though. I noticed that my belly accidently hits the buttons and the settings change. Going to have to get used to checking before I hit the start button. That or lose enough so that my belly doesn’t stick out so far. . . .
Going to work on my project today. Phyl glad you could get back to sewing yesterday. Hopefully you will continue to be able to enjoy pain free. Betty J you must be so excited to get your sewing room back up and functioning. We all know how much you’ve missed it.
Not much else going on. Hope Penny and Charlie are OK.
Geri hope you managed to sleep OK last night.

Dayle, I slept great, loved it. Have fun with the new washing machine. I need to get mine revved up and the dishwasher too.
I used to make a cucumber salad with sour cream and vinegar. It was really good too. I think it had onions in it. My mom and grandmother made it too.
Peggy, nothing fun today, but going to a birthday party tomorrow for a friend that is turning 89. He is a fun guy.
Phyl, good news from you. Glad the back is better. Need to get that dishwasher going, have a fantastic Friday.

Dayle so I take it the buttons are on front of washer? You can see I haven't been washer shopping in long time, mine are at the back of the top of the machine. all my appliances are pretty old. time went by so fast that I didn't realize they are so old. But still running okay. so knock on wood. I did have to get a new garbage disposal which I don't use much and a new ice maker in the fridge. I am lost without my ice cubes.
do you like Truvia? I have been going to change but didn't know if I would like it. Guess I should get a small amount of it and just try it??? I use Splenda in my ice tea and that is about all I use it for. Learning to drink it without sweetner but it is tough. So for now about every 3rd glass is without.
Will let you know how much I have lost by end of this month. I am afraid to say for fear I will jinx it. It has been such an up and down sort of thing.

Good morning everyone,
This heat and humidity is really getting to me. Today going for a manicure. That should perk me up. Was going to look for glasses today but too cranky today to do that. Have a headache.
Was not dizzy during the night and so far today. I wish I knew why I had dizzy spell yesterday while sorting old photos. Got dizzy 15 minutes into it. Dizzy went away when I stopped. Not doing any photo sorting the rest of the week. If I get dizzy again then I know it's not the photos causing the issue. I put it all away.
Trying to not get depressed. Seems that whatever I want to do is blocked because I won't feel good. Gardening - bug bites, drinking wine, beer and eating fun foods - trigger IBS, traveling - stress and anxiety and now dizzy during photo sorting.

Our washer and dryer are about 6 years old. We have LG top loading energy efficiency washer. I did not want the front load washer. Has no center agitator and can put in big stuff easy. Absoutly love it.
Our fridge, dishwasher and stove are about 14 years old. Hope they hang in there. I do not like the new ones.

So glad that all my appliances were new when we moved here. Don't have to think about looking for new ones. Can't say that I care for the stainless steel or the ceramic cook top but they work well. I had a gas stove before we sold our home so hard to get use to electric.
Dayle, do you have a recipe for your cucumber salad?
Finished getting the room ready for my sewing cabinet.
Mar, have you asked your doc about the dizzy spells? What kind of glasses are you looking for? Only took me a few minutes. I wanted frames about the same as my old ones. Hate the ones with all the sparkles and didn't want really bright colored. Get sick of them too quick.
Doing laundry now and want to go to the home improvement store later.

Betty- have not contacted doctor yet. Only 2 episodes of dizzy so far.
Hubby changed air conditioner filter this morning. Other one was not very dirty so not sure if it will make a difference.
Many thanks for brain storming. I have been looking online. Not finding much.
Looking back this dizziness started after starting this photo sorting. I am doing this while propped up with a pillow on sofa. But yesterday afternoon when I got dizzy I was sitting upright on sofa looking at photos that were on coffee table. The other time was while sleeping at 1am. I woke up and felt dizzy.
The photos are not damaged and have no moisture damage. So I don't think it's mold.
The only other change is that the house has been closed up with air conditioning going for a solid week. We normally open windows in bedroom at night and rest of house in the morning.
I have a carbon dioxide monitor and it's not going off. Hubby was only dizzy once when he woke up.
Lin- you mentioned ozone maybe causing this. Not sure because never have had this problem before.
The main problem with new glasses is they do not make many in my size. I wear size 50. Most are 52 and up. Looking for kinda plain in a brown shade. Metal frame. I do not want the designer name or bling on the arm.

Connie here is the recipe for the cucumber salad. The only thing I ever used white distilled vinegar for was cleaning, but it works really good here. This was even better the second day!
CUCUMBER SALAD
This Easy Cucumber Salad recipe is a family favorite recipe that people have been enjoying for ages. Thinly sliced cucumbers and onion are tossed in a sweet and tangy vinaigrette for a classic side dish.
Author: Rachel Farnsworth
Yield: Serves 6 to 8
Ingredients
• 2 English cucumbers, thinly sliced
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 red onion, thinly sliced
• 1 cup distilled white vinegar
• ½ cup water
• ½ cup granulated sugar (I used 6 packets of Truvia instead) • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, minced
Instructions
1. Season cucumbers with salt in a large bowl and let sweat 1 hour. Drain liquids and toss cucumbers with onion slices.
2. In a small saucepan over high heat, pour in white vinegar and water and stir in sugar until dissolved and liquid turns clear, 3 to 5 minutes.
3. Pour over cucumbers and onions. Stir in dill. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate 1 hour. Serve cold or at room temperature.

Happy Day All!
DS is taking a quick nap, and DH is out of town for the night - so here I am.
Charlie is fine - you'd never know anything happened to him after the first day or so. It settled in a gland in his neck and he looked like he was carrying and egg around in a sack under there. He's eating, barking, begging and snuggling just like always.
We're having a good time with DS - so glad he could make it up here. He's so smart and funny. Also awfully opinionated! HA!!! Just like his father. Oh - DH's cousin and her DH were supposed to come on Sunday but have cancelled. He's really sick which is horrible. He's the one with multiple myeloma that came back a couple of years ago. He's in some trial now for a new chemo and has been doing better. Also has diabetes and very bad kidneys. Now there's the flu bug on top of all that. We're disappointed they're not coming, but praying he gets better.
Nothing else much going on. The cucumber recipe sounds a lot like my mother's, only her's didn't have the dill. Will have to try that.
Phyl - glad to hear you're feeling a bit better. May it please continue.
Gotta go - will try to check in tomorrow.

So glad Charlie is ok.
Geri, sounds like the German salad DH likes.
mar, anyhung that bothers your nose affects your ears ,and inner ear clogg makes you dizzy. I have to take sudafed when that happens. Sometimes ADVil to reduce swelling, but lots of things can. Abuse dizziness,
busy day, just got back from new Vet close by to check on Micki's rapidly spreading schnauzer bumps.Which are clogged pores on his back, typical in breed. Nothing worse but blood work to check his thyroid, etc. new shampoo. she discovered ear fungus infection , so he gets ointment twice a day fir two weeks. A friend recommended them . Such nice people ...reception, nurse and doctor.and only half a mile a way. They are doing all the paperwork for vet insurance. Micki was actually happy to be there And popular with everyone. Geri, mention McClintock Animal Care to you know who.
morning was cleaning out clogged fountain with algae..take apart and put back together. Then off to vascular surgeon for release.. all fine.
finally sitting down to look at email, etc.

Dayle , that is the recipe I use also. have you ever tried small zucchini made like that, it is very good too.
I am tired tonight. I painted the sides of the steps going up stairs in DDs house and also the riser part. DSIL doesn't want to paint the steps them selves until we are all done with everything else. Makes sense. I also put on outlet covers in 2 bedrooms and took off Painters tape in those bedrooms. All done but cleaning carpets in them. but this other stuff will need a 2nd coat and will do that probably on Sunday if they go to the house. I have day off tomorrow so hoping for a pool day. They have a graduation to go to in the afternoon and DSIL has to work in the morning. DD plans to sleep in a bit and get some things done at home. DD got the huge closet painted and also the wood work touched up in one of the big bedrooms. Things are shaping up really well.
Brought home my cooler as they have found a fridge to put in the house and it seems to be working really good. No ice cube trays but I took in a bag of ice cubes and they are staying frozen. also my neighbor gave me a bunch of sparkling water that she didn't like I took it in also to put in that fridge. I am not a fan either but someone will drink it.
I am not sure if I am going to read to watch one of my shows that I recorded. Just relaxing for sure
