Good Morning Marm and LTMs,
This morning it was 70º and going up to 93º and partly cloudy today. Winds will be light and variable.
The girls start school today and I hope they will be happy in their new schools. Hannah is a senior in high school and finally got a schedule that will let her get out early, so she can find a job and work after school.
Rachael still doesn’t know if she will be in 8th grade or have to repeat 7th grade and we hope she will be OK with either. It looks like she won’t be able to start school today, because she doesn’t have a schedule of classes yet. She came home from open house in tears because of the whole situation.
Sarah’s 4th grade class is in a school that is for grade 4 only.
MAXINE CALENDAR: Tue 8/7: There are bound to be tantrums when kids are on a flight. And sometimes the kids act up, too.
PEANUTS CALENDAR: Tue 8/7: Word search puzzle. Answer to yesterday’s question: How many common words of four letters or more can you make from the letters in the following word? (You may use each letter only once.) SCIENCE - Some answers are: scenic, ecesic, nieces, scene, since, niece, cense, ices, nice, cees, seine, sine, sene, seen)

Cloudy and overcast when we headed out to walk. We hadn't gone far when it started sprinkling so we circled back towards home so we only got about a mile and a half and had to finish indoors. At least the rain didn't start in earnest until after we got home. Sprinkles I can handle but not getting drenched. We really don't need anymore rain. We had 4" between Sun and Mon. Parts of the state have had even more.
Sheets are washing now. My later shift at work today.

Hello, all LTMs,
Doris, I feel so bad for Rachael. She has been through enough. Has MJ spoken w/ her principle about the situation? I'm sure she has. When my oldest son started school, he was in leg braces & walking w/ crutches. We met w/ our principle & he was just wonderful. I wish every child w/ a problem could be so fortunate.
Well, we started our day w/ a walk in the park. It's interesting (at least to me!( that we meet more of our neighbors there than anywhere else. Most of them are walking their dogs & we can always remember the DOG'S name, but sometimes, not the owners! Our walk always takes longer when the pups are out, since we stop to pet & chat. When we got home, I hung the load of laundry that had finished washing on the lines. DH took down the pantry doors, and the track for the sliders. After breakfast, I helped him install them. My "help" consisted mostly of finding the screws he dropped, getting the right screwdriver for him, and handing him the drill so that he didn't have to get up & down from the ladder. The track was a real bear, since it was different from the one that was up,. and, instead of being one piece all the way across the door frame, it was two separate pieces, one for each side. Now, he knows what to do to make it work, so the next one will be a breeze! HaHa!
He also cut the grass, and I know he is exhausted. I have chicken w/ onion soup mix & cream of mushroom soup in the crock pot. Smells wonderful! I also made a strawberry/blueberry pie. The peach one I did on Saturday was so good, I hope this one is, too. I want to have the fruit as much as possible as long as it is in season!
Hoping everyone has a good day.
Rose Marie

I just posted on the Sewing and Crafting thread and now need to say hi to those of you here. I went to Fleet Farm and WM today for a few things related to my going away this coming Saturday for a week with DD and DIL and their families. We share the cooking and cleanup, so we all bring our supplies. However we do go to town for shopping there some too. And, if the fishing is good we always have a big fish fry, as well as having it for some breakfasts, too. I know for sure that I’ll be indulging in some things that I shouldn’t be having.
Gareth, you and Marm are certainly getting the rain, much more than here. You have been in a wet belt.
Doris, it’s too bad that Rachael didn’t get to stay for school. I hope they’ll get her schedule to her soon. Poor girl, I feel for her. She had so much trouble last year. Maybe with her mom’s help it will get straightened out soon. The schools here aren’t starting until after Labor Day as far as I know.
RM, your chicken dinner sounds good, can almost smell it. That’s funny, but true, how we remember dogs’ and cats’ names easier/better than people names. Maybe because they are more unique names, for instance like Waldo, Elsa and Jazmin, instead of Tom, Dick and Harry.
Usually when I send this I find that Marlene, or Ruth, have posted. I’ll see if that is true today.

Mary, you made it way before me today...
I've got less to chat about today then I had yesterday. We were gone most of the day to Madison & also went to the town we usually shop at between trips to Aldi's. Stopped at MNs but didn't get the edging DH thought he wanted - it was more expensive then he was ready to spend. We looked at a couple weeping willow trees to give us some privacy from the soon to be new sites behind us. DH decided to wait & see if they mark them down.
Didn't find many of the things I wanted from Aldi's & not getting anything at MNs made the trip not really worth our time. Picked up some sweet corn from a roadside market though. Went for lunch before we stopped at WM to pick up my prescription. Think we can stay home now for a few days. Changed our minds & will get our certified marriage license next week. Lunch was late so supper will be too but we're only having sweet corn.
The baby bluebirds are more frequently visible at the opening now. I'm expecting to see them topple out one of these days.
Walked this afternoon between sprinkles. Some degree of rain is in the forecast everyday this week but I hope I can squeeze a walk in every day too.

Marm, I agree about Marlene checking on the willows. I think they are a messy tree. This morning at the board meeting here there was talk about planting a couple. Several discouraged it because of the work they make, unless maybe they are put in a wild area where it doesn’t matter and maybe that is where Marlene meant.

Marm & Mary, I have googled them. It sounded to me like they were very easy to care for - just need a lot of water. It wasn't a weeper that DH looked at but a golden willow. They grow fast, which is what we would like since how long our time here is unknown. We would not plant them in our yard but beyond our site & closer to the road that goes by the new sites. Our neighbor back home had a weeper & I don't recall it being messy but I could wrong about that.
