TOOT, TOOOOT! CHUG, CHUG, CHUG! Here comes the Train to Thinsville down the track and into your station so hop on board and enjoy the ride.
This morning it was 72º and going up to 92º with mixed clouds and sun and scattered thunderstorms today. Winds will be WSW at 5-10 mph.
Hannah and Sarah will go to school today, but Rachael still doesn’t know what grade she will be in and can’t go until it is decided. MJ is going to talk with someone in the office again today to see if she can find out anything more. She really wants to be in school. The teachers MJ has talked with are not very pleasant people and not helpful.
Hannah and Sarah both say they would like to be home schooled but I don’t know if that will happen. MJ has applied for more than 20 jobs and they all say she doesn’t have enough experience or they want someone younger or some other excuse for not hiring her.
I woke up during the night with an upset stomach and felt miserable all night. I finally stopped throwing up but still don’t have much energy.
MAXINE CALENDAR: Wed 8/8: Only time I really enjoy games on my phone is when someone’s waiting for my parking space.
PEANUTS CALENDAR: Wed 8/8: A Sudoku Puzzle with a difficulty rating of 5 stars.

Good morning Doris & ATF,
Hazy, hot & humid again today. Currently 81; the high will be 94 with thunderstorms later in the day.
This morning I had an early morning appointment for a haircut. Boy does my head feel so much better. I have some laundry to do so that should keep me busy for a while.
I'm sorry you are feeling under the weather but it is no wonder with all the stress you are all under even the girls.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Emily,
Its cloudy here and we have the possibility of showers but I don't think that will cool it down. If it rains I think it will just make it feel more humid.
I'm sure you feel a lot better with a haircut. I need one too. The hair is hanging on the back of my neck and doesn't feel very good.

Good morning!
A cooler day -- 70º to 85º. We had a big storm yesterday evening, with high winds causing some damage and hard rain falling in a wall of water. It didn't last lang, but we lost internet for a while, and lots of people lost power for several hours. My computer had a shut down, but started up again this morning, thank goodness.
Three of our DGKs joined us for breakfast this morning. It was a lot of fun to see those sleepyheads up and eating breakfast. DGS1 and DGD2 came back to the house and he tried to reset my phone so I could send photos to the computer. I'll try it out in a little while. He leaves Saturday to start the move-in process for his apartment. DGD1 has an early dentist appointment, so she was up in time for that.
Our tenth grader has decided to apply to the tech school. His younger brother got in, so he is going to try. Nick is very good at math and science, and thinks that kind of program would work for him. Nate is good at anything mechanical, so that is his focus. Nick's girlfriend is going to be in her third year of tech nursing and will be wearing scrubs. She is so excited to do that. It is kind of endearing. If she really goes into nursing, she'll get very tired of them, I would think. Though I don't know -- they are very comfy. Nate is combining that program with JROTC and hopes to go into the service. I think that catches up with all our DGKS. Oh, yes, the little one will be in fourth grade, and she is scared she won't be able to do harder work. I guess kids are always nervous about school, but I really don't remember being that worried. Do you?
Sorry I've rambled on so long. I'll forgive anyone who doesn't read it all!
Be happy today, everyone.
Diane

Diane,
I'm still not feeling very good and I hope I'll start feeling better soon.
I think I'm worried that the girls won't like the schools and that MJ won't be able to find a job to earn money to support the family.
It sounds like your DGKs will all be busy with schools soon. I hope all goes well for them.

Doris, I'm sorry you still don't feel well. I am praying for the legal mess to be straightened out and MJ and you get some money! Also for her to get a job. Sometimes the kids just have to stick it out, don't they? Hope yours can adjust soon.
Love and hugs, Diane

I think the girls need to be school and make some friends, they need friends a lot right now. Sorry that the teachers and MJ have not been able to relate. But maybe they need to take a deep breath and start over. Hope today is more productive, the teachers know that Rachael needs to be in school. My friend's DD is home schooling and her boys don't know how to relate to other kids very well. even though they do things with other home school kids they seem to just relate to their MOM.
it is not going to be a good thing if you get sick so do take care of yourself and just keep telling yourself, worrying does not help only makes it worse. MJ will get it taken care of.

Oh Doris I'm so sorry that you have been sick. Sorry the girls don't like the school and MJ isn't getting a job. Makes me sad for you and yours.
Diane it's fun to hear about all the grandkids plans. the one who wants to go to tech school, YAY! We need more of that. And also more nurses.
Well, Super Saver has Colorado peaches on sale for .98 cents a pound so after the Y this morning I went to pick up a couple lugs. Last year when the Colorado peaches were ready, Dave was face down recovering from the eye surgery. He says he wants to help this year. They are a little green yet but we had some from HyVee for breakfast this morning and they were yummy. At the Y a lady was giving away garden produce this morning. I got some tomatoes and something she says is a hyrid of cucumber and butternut squash.

Helen,
I'm feeling quite a bit better now but still don't feel like I want to eat anything.
The Colorado peaches sound good, nothing quite as good as fresh peaches. Its nice that Dave will be able to help you with putting the peaches in the freezer this year.

Connie,
When you see my post tomorrow you will understand why we feel the girls need to be at a different school. Sarah was placed in a class where she is the only student who isn't autistic. Hannah had a boy in her class take her aside in the hallway and point out all the boys who were ghetto kids and very tough and he told her it is dangerous to even touch them.
They also haven't made an effort to get Rachael placed in a class, whether it puts her back a year or keeps her moving on.
