Happy Day All!
Emily - thanks for the start yesterday, I went to the shelter and left early.
Dayle - so very sorry to hear about your classmate. Fortunately I haven't had a suicide in my family, but DDIL's brother killed himself. She was never the same. So sad. Did you get to spend a lot of time on the dollhouse?
Mar - glad you had fun in Carlsbad. Did you ever order the glasses? Your eyes are going to change again if you don't do something soon! (Kidding.)
BettyJ - it sure sounds like you're enjoying where you're living - close enough to family to visit now and then. Am happy for you.
PeggySue - It was 68 here this morning, with a bit of thunder going on. Nice! Feel for you and my family down that way - also Lin. Too hot.
Connie - I'm so happy you could talk to DD and help her calm down. Sometimes meltdowns like that are just what the doctor ordered - or should have. Everything just builds up and up and has to get out. Glad you're close to her and can help. BTW - I LOVE lemon and key lime pie as well. Sigh....
Geri - am I correct in thinking Linda of Skinny Taste passed away? I always liked her posts on the old board and got on skinny taste on FB because of her. She was special. Hoping I'm wrong.
Lin - that was some storm you had - WOW! Read on Owls that it actually moved a concrete table with umbrella. That's some kind of wind. Made me remember our hurricane! BTW - are there lots of Louise Penny books in addition to the Inspector Gamache? I read and loved all of those at your recommendation!
Phyl - so glad you are up and about. I agree about doing away with arthritis and degeneration issues. Without those, aging would be a lot easier on so many of us.
Had a good time at the shelter. Was in the big pen with a large lab mix (probably 90 pounds) who wouldn't let me leave! Literally! It was funny and frustrating at the same time. A younger woman came to help and I got out, then he wouldn't let her leave! He was even grabbing her foot to hold her back. Saw lots of nice people and even more sweet dogs. Oh - a family had turned in a 135 lb St Bernard they had had for 6.5 years! Apparently the kids came along and just cried and cried. They were be reassigned by his company to Saudi Arabia and were told the dog wouldn't make it through the plane ride and then the quarantine period required by that country. SO sad! Luckily there are already several families interested in fostering or adopting him.
This morning Charlie and I walked about 1/2 mile. Actually felt good, even if the hills hurt my knee a bit.
Oh - had to laugh thinking about telling you this. I had a dream this morning that I was decluttering this huge space in my house (don't know where it was.) I had stacks and stacks of stuff - to save, to donate, to sell, and to decide about later. Guess which was the biggest pile? The last one! Then the whole place morphed into a yard sale and I was having trouble setting prices when someone wanted to buy something because I couldn't decide if I really wanted to sell it. Weird stuff, too - like toys, planters, baskets. Was very happy to wake up.
Nothing planned except paperwork and sorting through some mail today. Also still setting up DH's new phone to his satisfaction.
Need to get going - have a good day everyone and do something you really WANT to!
Cheers.....
