Hi wwlurker - I'm sorry to hear you are struggling with your weight loss. It's such a difficult thing to do and each of us has our own individual "problems" that we have to deal with and learn to work with them successfully for us to lose weight. You sound like you have figured much out about yourself, so I hope you can figure out why you are having problems sticking with this long term Hang in there! I know the motivation for me to finally lose weight and keep it off, was the day (and following few weeks) that I woke up and could barely move my legs to walk. Every step was painful to my legs and knees. I couldn't figure out what the problem was and it really scared me. I knew I didn't have anyone to take care of me and it was the wake-up call I needed to get my act together. Fortunately the pain got better after a few weeks, but I had already decided I had to lose weight to get the pressure off my body. I was so large, that I didn't even start exercising until I had been losing weight for at least 6 months. Now I walk every day at two different times (usually get 30-40 minutes each time), and mostly I do my walking while watching TV or reading on my Kindle. (I like to multi-task ) I know you have a really busy life, so maybe you can find a way to get in some activity while you are doing something else. I'm doing well today, and hoping to have a strong week. Next week I have two eating out challenges, so I want to get in as many good days as possible before the end of the month.

good morning, I have to say I am loving this new program, I started on Jan 3 and I am down 13.8 lbs, I got a 5% charm on Tuesday, that was a surprise. As the weather gets better I can get back to my morning mile before work and another one after, I loved it when I was getting in 5 miles, 11K+ steps a day. It makes me feel successful and in control. I suffer from aches and pains like most of us, knees used to be so bad i could hardly walk, now even if it causes discomfort, i walk, and in the end I feel better and have less pain, these are the results that motivate me to keep going, I still have a long ways to go. I will keep plugging along when it is easy and when it is not, I may have some roadblocks, and set backs, but I will set my course up for my goal and i will get there, staying there will be a whole new challenge. come on ladies, WE CAN DO THIS!!

Hi Hiker - Congratulations on the weight loss!! I'm glad to hear you are doing well and enjoying the new WW program. Sounds like you are really feeling strong, keep it up!!
I'm checking in for the day and doing well and staying on track. I still get some twinges in my knees too, but I push myself to walk every day. I'm thankful I'm able to do that.
Hope everyone else is doing well!

Good morning!
I'm checking in early because I'm trying to get back to sticking to my previous goal of not checking message boards at work. I've had 2 mostly OP days, and according to my scale, most of my gain is gone. I'm wondering if most of it wasn't sodium or hormonal.
This week I made a meal plan and grocery shopped accordingly. So far I am pleased. We had another snow day yesterday, but I didn't go crazy with baking. It really throws me off my game to have everyone home. I can't even work from home when everyone is there because it's too distracting.
I'm also having an extremely stressful time at work right now. I hope that it will resolve next week, but it may be another month or so of high stress. It makes it hard to focus when the stress and anxiety is this acute.
But, I'm going to keep on keeping on. I've committed to myself to give this program a full 6 months, so I'm not going to give up. Things may be going very slowly but I'm taking that as a sign of lasting change.

Lurker you are so right about losing slow and steady is a lasting change, it takes your body time to get used to it, it takes time to develop new habits, and I hear it helps with loose skin. Stress is a big problem for me too,- stress at work is awful, company is reorganizing, downsizing, reducing headcount and their jobs all seem to end up on my desk.

Hello Everyone Checking in for the day and I've had a good "on plan" day. Hoping for a good weekend, and I've already been tentatively planning my meals for Sat and Sun. wwlurker and hiker - I'm sorry to hear about the stress in your lives. Stress makes it so difficult to stay on track, so I wish you both the best in dealing with it

I've been doing good on points, but exercise has been hit or miss. I'm getting in my steps but not always getting to my workouts. I just can seem to make workouts a priority when meetings or kids activities come up. At least the scale is starting to move again

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all enjoying your weekend and doing well on your plans Sandy - Glad to hear the scale is starting to move for you. I give you a lot of credit for getting in steps when you are dealing with work and kid's activities that probably take up a lot of your time and energy. I'm doing well and staying on track. I brought some candy into the house yesterday and really wanted to eat all of it last night, but managed to portion some out and left the rest. I really want to be able to control this type of food in my house, so I'll keep working on doing that. I have some weekly points left for today so I'm going to make sure I use them wisely today on some good food and not a bunch of junk

Good afternoon!
I'm doing ok, all things considered.
Friday was a really bad day for me work-wise, so I made an executive decision to go on a mini family vacation. We packed everyone up and headed to a hotel for the night in a nearby city.
We hung out at the pool and did some shopping. Just a quick getaway to remind me of what's most important in my life. Unfortunately, it also came with some off-plan eating and wine. I tracked everything and today I went back to the gym for the first time in forever. I feel like it was a slight detour, but I don't think that it was a complete waste. I am up ever so slightly today, but I think that by WI on Wed, all of last week's gain should be gone and maybe then some. It would be nice to have another net loss.
Getting back to the gym was good for the soul. Exercise makes me feel so much better, and it's often the first thing to go when things get busy. We're trying to work on that.
DH and the kids also signed up for the Y today, so I'm hoping that we will be getting more active as a family. I didn't join, as I have a membership to a gym that is better situated and I can go with the kids as their guardian for swimming and family classes, etc. without a membership.
I hope everyone is doing well and has a great week!

cj59 - I'd love to get to a point where I could have stuff like candy in the house and be able to control myself. Awesome willpower!

Good morning!
Checking in early again to work on my goal. I've been looking at a productivity technique called 'pomodoro' which I'm going to try. It's where you work in small chunks with small breaks. I think that it could help me get more done at work. If only I can minimize distractions and interruptions.
Today I saw the lowest number on the scale that I've seen in about a year. It's not WI day, so it's not official yet, but I'm pleased. This week was challenging and I wasn't perfect, but I did pretty well all things considered.
I'm planning to make it to the gym this morning. I really need to get back into that routine.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Hello Everyone
I'm checking in for the day and this is my weigh-in day. I had a loss this week after two weeks of staying the same, so I was happy to see that. I knew my weight loss would slow down at this point, so I'm trying to be patient and understanding with myself. I know it's most important just to stay on plan every day rather than to see a loss.
I still get a little anxious thinking about maintenance, since I've never been successful at that. But I have to remember that I'm at a different point in my life this time after losing weight, so I have to believe I'll be successful this time.
Sandy - I can't buy a big bag of candy, I mostly buy single serving sizes. I don't think I'd trust myself with a full bag of candy in the house
wwlurker - Glad to hear you are doing things that are good for yourself. You sound like you have the right attitude and also sound strong. Congratulations on seeing that lower number on the scale

Good morning! I went to the gym again this morning. I'm at a weird busy/not busy stage of work right now, so I'm taking advantage and going to the gym when I can in the mornings. Tomorrow is WI - I think it's going to be a good one. I'm still hoping for another small net loss over the past two weeks, but we shall see. All I can do is control what goes into my mouth and what exercise I do. The scale takes care of itself. cj59 - congratulations on the loss. Only one more week of losing before maintenance, right? I'm thinking about leaving work early today to start a more involved dinner. I didn't get to plan as well as I would have liked this weekend due to our impromptu trip away, so the meal plan has a complicated meal for dinner tonight. Hope everyone has a great day!

Checking in for the day and hoping everyone is doing well on their plans wwlurker - I'm glad you are able to get to the gym and good luke with your weigh-in tomorrow. I'm not sure if I'll go to maintenance or not starting on March 1st. That's my 2 year anniversary since I started back on a weight loss plan. I would kind of like to lose a few more pounds, but I might end up still losing weight even with adding back some points each day. I guess I'll play it by ear

Good morning!
I was down 3.2 today, so I'm still up slightly due to last weeks' gain. But I'm feeling good overall.
I need another good week this week so that I can start stringing together more good weeks and start making some progress. I'm getting a new meal plan this week, which should help keep things fresh. I'll fill out my detailed meal plan like I did last week too. That seemed to help.
I'm committed to making this work.
Hope everyone has a great day!
