B: coffee w/coffee mate L: lean ground beef sauteed w/cabbage, a little butter and bacon (Halušky sort of -I'll do the same but with egg noodles as well for the guys) D: probably a big salad w/tuna or salmon I've heard of halušky. My husband is Czech and says halušky is originally a Slovak comfort food dish that many Czechs also like. He says the dish by that name he knows about is noodles with brynza cheese and maybe also bacon, which is hard to find except in online Slovak/Czech food shops. I once made them, and like that, I think. Czechs also eat noodles with various toppings like poppyseeds, farmer's cheese (tvaroch), and cooked as a casserole with eggs and ham. Butter is always involved. I'll have to ask him if Czechs ever eat noodles with cabbage. I know they eat dumplings (knedliky) with sauerkraut and red cabbage, usually with pork roast. Is your background Czech or Slovak?

Is your background Czech or Slovak? Neither, though my great grandmother was Polish I do take liberty and make it a main dish rather than a side, by adding ground beef. Every dish you mentioned sounds wonderfully tasty
