Well, Bobbie was finally here today and Jim is nice and clean but she stayed only a little over 1 hr. so nothing else was done. I think I'll have to get a cleaning person because I can't do both houses by myself. Nancy: Have fun at the festival. I wish you had a friend to go with. Sandy: Sam really is a great gentleman....That is so good for Maija. Blink again and she'll be back at school. Harriet: What happened to the organist's daughter?....Too young to die for sure. I'm kind of turned off to the respite care due to the company that watched Jim while I was in the hospital. I found out the one guy that locked Jim into his bedroom had given him 8 glasses of wine....so, Jim was a jerk. But Jim's son told me about the wine which I didn't know. Jim would forget how much he drank if it were up to him. I keep it under control..... I don't buy WW products either and will continue to use artificial sweeteners. Diabetes comes first in this house. I allow Jim to have natural sweeteners like fruit but no sugar from a sugar jar. Phyl: I agree if the price goes up....no more monthly payments but I don't think they will increase ours until we reach FREE status and then gain again. I really don't even use mine since I don't attend meetings. I try to get to WI but I haven't been good with that either. As I said before I think I will get a cleaning person. I have a friend who used to have a horse on the ranch who will willingly help me at the ranch house. She might even come here to the beach house if I ask her. Let's get into our circle of wagons now and sing by the fire "WE CAN DO THIS, YES WE CAN...WE CAN LOSE NEW POUNDS...MY THIN FRIENDS!"

Hi everyone thanks for the start Kathie. Good luck with finding a cleaning lady. Many of the women here have cleaning women and it works out very well for them. Glad to hear that Jim is clean again. I had a great time at the festival. Ran into 3 of my cousins and 2 of the women I walk with. 5 Card Stud was a great band. I sort of danced at the standing table with my beer and friends. A young woman came up and asked me to dance. I was surprised when a few young men came up and told me I was doing a great job. That felt good. I was glad I went and when you have a smile on your face people do come up and chat with you.
Sandy I love warm weather and all the activities we have going on here. I know when I came home from the festival my neighbors said I looked hot but it was 82 and drinking beer does bring up my color but I enjoy it. Brings back how it was when DH was alive. He loved music and dancing. Maija's Sam sounds like it was in my youth. Those were great times when people had manners.
Harriet I'm so sorry to hear of such a young death. I know that memorial will be very sad. I went through that when my 23 year old daughter died. That was the worse time of my life. I was lucky to have my brother Bill and Kathy to back me up when I had my Dad for 7 years and my DH for about the same amount of time. You do need time for yourself when you are the caregiver. I don't buy WW products either but I don't have diabetes. That's why I like this program you can eat regular food.
Phyl I find I need the help that I get from everyone on this thread. My walking one on facebook had deviated from the walking and I don't enjoy that one any more, but I depend on this one to start my day. I wish you would get to your goal, maybe you can change it. Then you would be free like I am. I do need my weekly meeting. Glad you had a cone with Mary Jo. I'm out of ice cream. I'll have to get some today.
Bill took me to the farmer's market yesterday and I finally found some ground cherries. I'll have to make sure I go there every week to get some. Then we went to the Brass Key for a Meditteranian omelet. It was huge. His back has been acting up after all the yard work he has done. He's like me he can't sit still for long or it acts up. Today it's back to normal-walk, dance, library, podiatrist and then rest. Have a great Monday! Hugs and blessings to us all! See you in the morning

Fred is golfing this morning and the bug guy comes for the quarterly service. Debbie has a long day at work today - 12 hours - but since she also went in for a while yesterday she can take Friday off with flex time. She was saying last night she hasn't seen Jeff since June 5 and she thinks he's probably a hot mess as she saw he's on one gram of Xanax a day and also saw a bottle of Captain Morgan on the counter that is almost empty so looks like he's taken up drinking which he didn't do before. So she thinks that's one of the reasons he makes sure to not be there when she's going to be there and why he didn't show up for the court date as he didn't want her seeing him. But Debbie looks fantastic! Much better than when she was with him and much happier as well.
Sam took Maija to a friend's farm last night to see the meteor shower. It was cloudy so I hope they got to see something. I know once away from the city the sky is usually very bright with the stars. She was given a curfew of 1:30 and was home right on time. So we probably won't see her until this afternoon sometime. If she's still asleep when the bug guy comes he'll just have to not go upstairs.
I think I know why Sam is such a great guy! His Dad is not a big part of his life but his Mom and two sisters are so I'm pretty sure while growing up they had a strong influence on telling him how women should be treated. But Debbie told us yesterday that next Monday he will be given Eagle Scout status in the Boy Scouts and I know that takes a long time to achieve and not many young men achieve that status! Debbie asked Maija if he always opens the car door for her and does he always walk her to the door when bringing her home and she said yes and when heading to a building he'll walk a little faster than her to get to the door first and apologizes if she beats him and opens the door herself. She keeps telling him it's okay as she can open doors but he just says that's what I'm supposed to do, not you!
My weight is really up big time this morning so I just have to stop my mindless eating! Of course that's easier said than done!

Kathie, the young woman was diagnosed with a rare cancer, shortly after she became pregnant. They let her carry the baby as long as she could I saw him yesterday with his granddad - a cute child. They had baptised him in her hospital room, and then yesterday reaffirmed it with the congregation. They live stream our service, so I want to watch the baptism as it was done at 11 not 8:30. That was horrible what they did with Jim while you were gone. Fortunately, they aren't all like that, but finding someone you can trust is a challenge. Getting housework help would make it easier for you.
Well, friends, my theme song should be the old Hee Haw sign on: Doom, despair, and agony on me. Deep down depression, excessive misery. When we were headed in to the dining room for brunch yesterday Bobby tripped and fell into me. Both of us ended up in the floor, but I broke his fall. I am hurting all over. I landed right on my spine, buttock and all the areas that we have been doing PT . Hurt, hurt. I finally went to the ER last night, and I have a compressed fracture at L4 in my spine. Hurt, hurt. They gave me one pill of hydrocodone with acetaminophen. Bobby is headed out to get the prescription refilled. All I can do is lay around. I have to make an appointment with the pain and spine practice for follow up. I will just have to suffer through the pain. Oh me.
Have a good day friends. I know what the meds will do to me, so I am so glad I was able to do the monthly WI on Saturday., But, hang in there I will. We can do it, yes, we can!!
